It will happen but next year, 2 years, 3 years ???? Who knows but they all get the boot sometime.
We will get the oppositie of Romeo to coach...a harder line disciplinarian and one better versed in offensive football[please no jokes about how offensive we already are].
I like Crennel and the players do to....but his record sucks ...especially vs. division foes.

I don't think he will be fired. If this organization wants ANY type of continuity and respect we will give him a few more years.
What Coach would want to come here knwoing we fired our past few coaches within a few years?

Tom Coughlin is known as a discipline coach but I would hate to have him here. I always thought he was a crybaby in Jacksonville and he isnt doing anything for the Giants besides false hopes. For being a discipline coach, his players sure do bicker alot.

Lets see continuity. 1-11 in the division in the last 2 seasons
winless in the division this year which is the first time that has ever happened to the Browns in the history of the Browns.
Statistically worse than the 2004 in almost every stat.
This team is not ready to play on Sundays. They were not ready in preseason. They werent ready the first week and werent ready last week and if you look at the season there is only about 3 games in which i will say this team was ready to play.
Allowing Edwards to pull the crap he has this year is the same stuff that made TO what he is today and the 49ers what they are today.
Everyone has watched RAC's press conferences. Can anyone say the guy inspires the least bit of confidence that he even knows whats wrong with this team? He is clueless infront of a mic and he is clueless on the sideline and inspires the same level of confidence.
Pooch punting a 44 yard field goal attempt thats freaking brilliant in itself. OO and his replay challenges, why is it a 5 year old knows that Rudi is 2 yards into the endzone but RAC cant freaking see it.
Clock managment is horrible.
Carthon was the only guy on this team that atleast coached to win. Our D lays back and waits just to give up 99 yard drives over and over. Our O just sucks the life out of everyone.
Cutt has 3 critical drops one in which he actually tries to get out of the way of the football and what do we do make him the primary on the next 3rd down play. Thats freaking brilliant.
We lose to a tampa team that hasnt one a road game in over a year and make them look like Super Bowl contenders.
We add talent and dont improve. Jason Fisk or big ted doesnt matter. Chump or Wimbley doesnt matter. Jackson or Taylor doesnt matter. Jones over Crocker doesnt matter.
There is a lot of continuity and another year will be another year of the same crap.

Not that anything your saying is made up Mour,,,but I don't see how you can lay all the blame at the feet of RAC,,,, Lots of things happen to cause a losing season,, I've yet to see it ever be one thing or one person..

I understand our Woes, I watch every game and tape them. I just don't see how firing our HC is going to make that all go away. What are we going to do, start over....again?
If he goes under .500 next year we can start this convo, but let him get his players in the game first.
He doesn't play rookies, we all know that...so IMO we should let them blossom, and if they are busts or can't play and win for him, IN TIME we let Romeo make or break his won career.
Coordinators don't become great head coaches overnight, they have progressions as well. Let's hope RAC is paying attention to his mistakes.

Clock managment is horrible. That is my biggest beef with RAC. It seems as though he has no concept of time managment. Sometimes I think he doesn't even pay attention to the game clock. I hope he watches game film on himself and corrects that in the off season if he is still around.

just clicking on ya Daman.. What Coach would want to come here knwoing we fired our past few coaches within a few years? Who wants to play for an organization that keeps crappy coaches around??? Who respects and employer for keeping dead wood on staff??? What coach worth his salt wouldnt see this as a challenge to turn soemthing around. Bring in Ferentz or wiat for Cowher in 08. I am tired of the pacifist teddy bear. I have seen more fire out of my assistant hockey coaches coaching 8 year olds.

I see Savage staying course with RAC while he tries to put in the foundation of players needed to be successful, then, if RAC can't coach them to wins, he will look to replace him.
But i think we stay the course with RAC while we build, just like we will stick with Charlie next year while we begin to rebuild the Oline.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Which is a good idea. Romeo's biggest problem is the lack of talent on this team.

Its not all RAC but I honestly dont think he makes this team better. He wasnt hired by Savage. He was a John Collins Randy Lerner hiring because they were to cheap to hire someone competent because that would mean spending more money.

I don't agree with that, mourgrym. I believe Lerner wants a winner. He's already loaded to the teeth.
EDIT: OK, according to a Nov. 17 Roger Brown article, word is ... Crennel's $2 million salary puts him in the lower tier of NFL coaches.

Apparently they do considering the two coach of the year candidates are both first time HCs.
Again the thing with RAC is that there is no progression at all. A team takes on the personality of its coach and it is definately true with this team. They play with the exact same emotion displayed by their HC.

They locked up bottles of water, counted pens and paper clips and raised the cost of every single thing inCBS including ticket costs. Yea they would never try to go cheap with a HC lol. The only reason they show a willingness to spend money in FA is because that little bit of hope brings fans back.

They got him on the cheap (I didn't know that til I just Googled it), but I believe they thought he was the best guy for the job.
There's a lot of talk about RAC's lack of leadership now that 2006 has gone down the drain. Monday morning QBing... Remember though, a lot of posters predicted we'd be bad, and that was before we got dinged at CB, and had LeCharles go down.... which effed everything up. Our talent level sucks right now.

Romeo will get next year. For that I am excited because it either means marked improvement for our team or a needed change.
If the later happens, I think we will take a shot at Cower. There is a good chance he 'retires' after this year. But that is over a year away and who knows who will be available. Even moreso, who knows who will even want to come here after we ruined a successful college coach and a very successful SB-winning Asst Coach. Although we might not think that is what happened, that is how people outside of Cleveland will look at it.
Let's hope it doesn't even come to that.

I would take Shaffer over the chump that went to miami and I would take Fraley over the chump in New Orleans. Colmen and druzzi is the same. Tucker was the only true loss to the OL.
Dilfer- Frye vs Frye Anderson. I actually prefer Frye Anderson RB Reuben and Green and Reuben and Wright WR Bryant, Cutt Edwards and WR JJ Cutt Edwards TE Heiden and noone and Winslow Heiden
Off to the D Roye Fisk Mckinley DL Roye, Big Ted, Mckinley LB Taylor, Davis, Stewart, Thompson LB Jackson, Davis, Wimbley, McGinnest S Russell Crocker S Russell Jones CB that area was a mess last year and a mess this year. Holly played better than Cutch and the dude we got from the Jets but Bodden was banged up this year.
ST no difference other than Zasturdill being awesome and Cribbs making improvement.

They play with the exact same emotion displayed by their HC. At the same time, you have to choose from the guys that are available, and you have to pick from the guys that accept an offer or show an interest. A lot of 1st time HCs were not willing to take a chance on a team in the cellar, especially if they knew anything at all about how the fans expect you to take monkeys and turn them into gorillas overnight. Our situation was not a HC dream, it was a HC nightmare, and few were willing to set their "first impression" upon what we were offering. Remember, "first impression" means alot, and if you come into a situation like we had and don't show huge success in a couple years then get canned. People don't give you a pass because you inherited a bunch of sea monkeys, they only see the finished record, and pass judgment on that.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Hopefully is 10- 15 years when this happens and Romeo retires to a luxery house in Florida after winning 2-3 Super Bowls with the Browns, we can hire his asst. who ever it will be in 2022 and he can step in without missing a beat......
Really lets not go here, This is my choice for 2nd worse thread of 2006

I'm just worried that Cower will retire, and the guy I wanted last time (Grimm) will become the next great Head Coach.

When Romeo gets the boot...what kind of coach? It will happen but next year, 2 years, 3 years ???? Who knows but they all get the boot sometime. [color:"GOLD"]Just a comment on the "when" part of your thread. Listening to KNR yesterday, someone was claiming that the broom was going to come out shortly after the season was over. [/color]

Heres my 2 cents
Romeo Needs to do better
1. kick some @$$ when it needs to be kicked. 2. better time management 3. play the rookies MORE especially when the guy infront of them is inferior 4. tell the OC to play for the KILL when we are up, and not play NOT TO LOSE (ive noticed in many games , B-more, Panthers, and P-burgh that when we got a lead, the lights and creativness went out on O, go for the killing stroke but exercise sense)
add to that this TEAM (as in players) needs to learn to win, to close games out. when 3 or 4 of your loses come from a team coming from behind in the 2nd half and putting up 20 some of it is play calling, but most of it is the players themselves.
these problems arent problems that are unfixable, as a matter of fact I think if Romeo sits down and really tries to make these changes they could be done in an offseason, that being said in 2 years if we are sitting around talking about this stuff then he should go....
but IMO you have to give him the beneift of the doubt for 1 or 2 more years

He doesn't play rookies, we all know that... That to me is another myth about RAC.... Can you say DQ Jackson and Kamerion Wimbley.... Granted in the two years he's been here, he didn't start last years first rounder (edwards) but did Edwards show up to camp on time,,,,,,NO,,, did Edwards do something on the field in Camp or Preseason that made it clear he should start,,,,NO,,,, I know Winslow wasn't a rookie, but he had only played in two games before being injured in a game then the motorcycle accident,,, so couldn't you consider this to be his rookie season,,, and he's played every game. I am beginning to believe that if a 7 round pick shows what he can do in Camp and preseason, RAC will give him a chance to show it in real games.. and as long as he keeps proving he's worthy, he'll continue to play.... I really believe it's that simple. I Think that once a myth is started,,, it sticks whether it deserves to stick or not...

Ok, it is his tendency to not play rookies until they are completely ready. As a rookie in Cleveland all you have to do is make the squad and then wait for the first 4 people at your position to get hurt.. then voila, you get to play.

I thought part of what got him the job was his experience. I see far to many gaffes that just shouldnt be made by a coach with his experience. We all understand clock management because we watch football. how many games has RAC watched?? Shouldnt RAC have already sat down and tried to figure this stuff out??? Does he really deserve 2 more years to learn a job that he has already collected 2 years of pay for??
