If you’re into the Motown sound you might dig this act. I just discovered them by looking for Christmas albums I’ve never heard, new ones, etc.

Kelly Finnigan…. he’s Smokey Robinson derivative, but if you’re going to copy someone that’s a good model if you can pull it off.

The album is called A Joyful Sound. It’s a good listen. It’s holiday music but not traditional Christmas songs.

Here’s a track off the album performed live and stripped down to just vocals and piano. The album is more produced and with a band.

Okay, so the chord pattern is pretty much a rip off of Jumping Jack Flash. I know, I know. But it's the lyrics and the message sent in this song that has always stuck with me.
