I knew something was wrong this week! I went home to Cleveland this week and the weather was not bad at all, almost rather nice, weather in the upper 30s, sunshine at times, I knew something was off. Then I read this post, OMG, no wonder the weather was odd in Cleveland, PIT admitted he might have been wrong about RAC!!

I honestly don't see why it would be necessary to apologize for your opinion on anything. Especially on an Internet message board. It's not like we all haven't posted something that was a little skewed or sometimes downright wacky. It's your opinion, no apologizing necessary.

As far as being wrong about Romeo I'm not so sure that you were wrong. But that's a subject for another day......

You only say that because you still think RAC sucks.

I didn't see it as Pit apologizing, I just saw it as him pointing out where he may have been wrong about RAC. I don't know what this being a message board has anything to do with it, people who love sports and a certain team have these discussions all the time, whether in person or like this. I'll never get why some people trivialize things because we are communicating on a "message board".

And I'll never understand why you consistantly disagree with everything I post. As far as trivializing a message board.......It's not like this is his doctoral thesis or a Presidential address. It's a post on an Internet message board. A very small one at that. If anything that is said on here holds more than a dust speck worth of importance in anyone's life they really need to check their priorities.

As far as Romeo's performance........eh, it's OK. I'll be more impressed if we repeat this next year when the schedule is harder and people are expecting us to play well. But I'm sure this will be debated a thosand times between now and then.

My name's not really ddubia, (I actually do have a real name and a real life. ), but I'm the same man when I talk with Browns fans here as I am when I talk with Browns fans in "real life".

I have the same takes on the same subjects here as I do out there.

Why might my words be important off the board but not when I'm on it?

Are my words more important when I speak them aloud?

Is there more value and importance in the opinions and comments of people whom I can see?

What is it about the message board that magically makes everyone's thoughts, opinions and comments of no importance once they state them here?

You're way off-base man, if that's all you think of your fellow board members.

I would reply, in length, to this but since several of my replies have already been deleted by the purity police I think I'll refrain.

Suffice it to say that anyone can post anything on an Internet message board so I take everything with a grain of salt.

Well Otto, much like Jules said, it's not an "apology" per say. Just admitting I was wrong. And yes, it is a message board. But to me, it's not "just" a message board.

You see, I've met MANY people who post on this board. I can put a face with a great many names on this board.( not that that's ALWAYS a good thing! ) And some, I even see on a semi regular basis. So to me, it's just a tad more than "just" a message board.

And I'm not saying RAC is a "finished product". Just as I can say this team isn't a "finished product". But in both cases, they exceeded my expectations and progressed much faster than I thought they would.

And you are right that it's "not necassary". But you see, that's the way I was raised. I didn't seem to have a problem questioning RAC's every move in a public forum. I didn't have a problem stating that I simply didn't believe he was NFL head coaching material. And it's not like I just said it once!

You see, IMO, everybody has to do "what's right for themselves". And stepping up to the plate and eating a little humble pie is "what's right for me". I'm not "doing it for everybody else". I'm doing it for me. Because you see, if I can sit here in a public forum and question a mans ability, I owe that man the same consideration when I am wrong. Otherwise, I simply wouldn't feel right about it.

Hey, I know that quite a few on here consider this more than just a MB. Obviously, to you (almost 8500 posts in a year), Daman (6500) and others this is a home away from home. And I have no problem with that.

My initial point was that no one owes any of the rest of us an apology (which is what your initial post was, IMO) for stating an opinion. Unless that opinion was somehow hateful, racist, etc. Which obviously is not the case here. A message board is an opinion board, no more no less. And since it's on the Internet what is posted does not have to be truthful or even useful. (Although that is not usually a problem on here). It just has to be what the poster feels at the time.

However, the fact that several people have taken offense at my labeling this "just a message board" tells me that perhaps I was correct in my initial assumption that perhaps this place holds a bigger place in their lives than is really warranted.

But that is their right. Just as it is my right to state what I think. At least until this post gets deleted.....

x2. I find it funny how people try to think this is the "real life" Ammo and make such a big deal out of things.

It's an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD, which is why I don't understand why people attack each other so personally and the tone is so serious.

I believe you overlooked the "most important" parts of my post.

Firstly, I feel it's "only fair" to give a guy his dues after questioning his abilities.

Secondly, I "personaly know" many people who post on this board.

So maybe you DO have a point Otto. You see, many of these people, are people "that I know". I would like to talk football with them and have a beer with a couple of times a week. Problem being, that time and distance prevent that for the most part. So yes, this board is "my connection" to those people.

It's not like I'm talking to a room full of strangers. When I see shep,Iam,Llama,Babe,DPG, Saint, Nurse, Michelle, Jules, GM, etc.... I don't "just see a screen name". I see the faces of people I know.

And I try to be honest, straight forward and real with the people I know. Wheather we're face to face, or on a message board. Because they're "my friends".

Now you may not understand that or see that point of view. But I believe those who post here that know me? I believe "they get it". And that's all that really matters to me......

There are a lot of things I admire about Romeo as a coach but clock management is not one of them.
I don't mean to bash him, but I'm still highly annoyed over the two-minute drill last week on our final drive.
Why did we wait so long to use the final timeout?
Why didn't DA spike the ball (at least twice, he should have downed the ball).
Thre have been a couple of other examples of poor time management, but I can't recall specifics. I swear last week was like watching Dennis Green coach the Vikings.
