I got a PS3 this morning for X-mas.

I got the 40GIG version, which is not PS2 games compatible. This really isn't a problem, cause I can trade in all of my old PS2 games and get like $120 credit at a local video game store.

My Biggest Question is internet. I was fiddle-farting around with it, trying to connect to the wireless network at my house. Is there some sorta cord or something I need?

I foundthis guide, but it's really not that clear to me.

So basically, I'm just asking can anyone help me with the internet part?

It took me a little bit to figure it out, also. What's your name? I'm Daunit17. What games do you have as of now?

Hook up the PS3 to the internet. Sign into the PSN. It's been a while, but it should prompt you. Maybe its under Edit Account Information. Once you're online, you can download free game demos to hold you over until you get some games.

My PSN ID is 'Dawgpound'

I just got Unreal Tournament III which rocks, and Uncharted which I haven't opened yet.

I also play a lot of MLB 07: The Show online. Also own Madden '08, Resistance, Motorstorm, NBA 2k7, and PAIN.

Ok, once you can access the online network, start the Madden game. The go to where the menu says play online, from there you should be able to pick your oppenents from the East,West,South,or North.

Beware people online are insanely good:

BTW, I'll add you to my buddy list, what games do you plan on getting?

Haven't seen u on tasty, you playing The Show online at all?

Any UT III people on here? Just got it for Christmas. Great game, nonstop action. Just got to play more to get better since I have played Unreal since Unreal Tournament when the PS2 first came out.

Go on the PS Store and download the Burnout Paradise Demo. It has a kind of GTA feel from the driving aspect.

I myself picked up a ps3 a couple weeks ago, super sweet.

PS3 has wireless internet, 360 only has wired, the ps3 has free online play, 360 makes you pay. Good choice with the PS3.

feel sorry for the people that pay bill gates $50 bucks/year to play online. He is rich enough, Ill just keep my 50 dollars / year

The only thing I miss about 360 online was the additional content they put up. Sony is lacking behind in options to download from them.

I enjoyed Drakes Fortune. Thought it was a good game. Assassin's Creed is o.k., but extremely repetitive.

Anyone who wants to add me can. PSN ID is ken7380.

I was really busy with this temp job that I was recently doing, man, talk about crappy call centers. I didn't have a lot of time because I was working about 60 hours a week, it really sucked but you should have seen the paycheck.

You're normally on at night right?

You know what time? And actually to tell you the truth, I've never played the show online. But it's such a good game, I find myself even wanting to play it during football.

I'm going to send you a pm to see when your on.

Got your PM.

When I work afternoons and don't have to come back in the morning, I jump on after midnight. Tonight I'll be on a little earlier, depending if I'm watching the game or not. Typically it's usually at night. Harder to do with a kid now.

I have a question,

I recently moved my ps3 from on top of a shelf in my living room and moved into a tv stand with 2 shelves and glass doors in my bedroom. I noticed that it was running louder and it was getting pretty freaking warm inside the tv stand.

Im assuming its the fan to keep it cool, I can always just open the doors when i play, does anyone else run into an issue like this?

Yes. My father-in-law's PS3 is almost silent but the fan on mine kicks in quickly and is pretty loud, even in open air. If the PS3 is enclosed, it will continue to get louder until you provide it with cool air. I experimented with this by putting two towels over mine and folding. It ran for almost an hour but never stopped. You could have heard the fan at the neighbor's by the time I took the towels off.
