Fn psycho libtard shot him. And he still got up and had fight in him. Typical over reaction. It's been reported he's a Republican. He donated money to a libtard PAC. Penn is a closed primary state and its common to register in your opposite party to vote in the primary. And he attempted to assasinate the GOP Candidate. He is clearly no republican. He is libtard scum. The same libtard scum as the ones all over the internet stating they wish Trump had died. Libtards are a disgusting lot.

Why wouldn't he register as a Democrat if he supports and voted Democrat? It would make sense if there had been a competitive GOP primary because that would allow for it to make sense that he could have been a "never trump" guy. But trump was running away with the primary. It is factual he was a registered Republican. It is also factual he donated 15 dollars to a democratic cause. What that all ends up meaning in the final analysis of this kid as of right now nobody can say for sure. But given the facts presented as we know them, a lot of people jumped off the deep end with yet another theory with nothing to base it on but trump was shot at.
I'm still wondering why the same crowd that when such shootings happen anywhere else they claim it's a mental illness and now suddenly its "the libs". It was lone 20 year old gunman. Pit. Young people have shown to register to the party opposite the one which they will vote for in the general election. It may not make much difference in the Presidential election, but it could in congressional and lower level local elections. This way you can vote against a candidate you don't like twice. Once in the primary elections, and again in the general election if the person you don't like even get's there. Many times those local primary elections are decided by a few hunderd votes. If you can help to vote out the "favorite" it gives you a better chance of electing you candidate in the general election.

Pit. Young people have shown to register to the party opposite the one which they will vote for in the general election.
. Bottom line is we don't know jack at the moment - just little bits and pieces. And honestly if he was a life long R or the leftiest Lefty - it doesn't matter, the guy is/was sick to try and assassinate Trump and he doesn't represent a typical person or attitude from whichever party he may or may not have been affiliated with. And the people trying to paint THAT picture and trying to use it to attack and lay blame at an entire group of people are just as toxic and damaging to the country and our divisions as the people like Jacqueline Marsaw (above) who posted that poison. 51.3% of the voting population voted for Biden ... 46.8% of the voting population voted for Trump. People from one group pointing at nearly 50% of the voting population on the other side saying the entire other group are Un-American -- those people are part of the root cause/issue with politics and division in the country. Regardless of the clear and obvious inadequacies of each candidate.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

I agree party affiliation doesn't really matter. It just seemed that the conversation was turning that way. I simply tried to explain why a person would register to one party yet lean the opposite. A vote against one candidate is sometimes more impactful than voting for the person you really want come general election time. In the end, I go with where people send their money. I can't think of any advantage in sending money to the party opposite of your belief unless you are a whale or corporation and want to hedge your bets both ways. That's pretty common.
We live in a world of smack talk. It started with message boards and bloggers, at least in the modern era, and has spilled over to everyday Joe's and Jane's creating a very toxic culture.

Just got back from a weekend long charity fundraising event for children's brain tumors that took place in greater Cleveland. I knew that the reactions and the overreactions spilling out from the event would be bad. I did not think it would be this bad.
What happened was terrible. I am glad that Trump is okay. That is awful. No idea what was going on with the SS. Wasn't an urban setting with high rises everywhere. So dumb on their part from what I can tell.
Nothing about the event changes who Trump is or what he's done or what his platforms are/have been. The qualms people have with him are still legitimate. The fact one person did something horrifically stupid doesn't give an excuse for people to devolve back to ape status.
Peen - I commend you for calling for people to tone down rhetoric. Even Trump himself has taken that tone. That right there says something. If even the guy who got shot is calling to turn down the temperature and to unite, and many of you continue acting the way you are, you should be beyond ashamed of yourselves. Some of you I know aren't capable of behaving any better, while a few of you I know are way better than what you put on display. I don't care what kind of backlash that causes against me. It needs to be said.
This was an unabashadly horrible incident however you look at it, from whatever angle. Yet it somehow got refocused to the inevitable libs vs conservatives within just a couple posts. Have we gotten that stupid? I think the answer is yes, unless I want to kid myself.
I think this event combined with the reactions in my mind firmly established an inevitable decline for us. I have never felt more hopeless about American politics or its direction than I do now.

An interview of a HS classmate this morning...the classmate indicated that the shooter was bullied unmercifully in school. That may have been a factor that triggered this young man's actions...

I've seen reports all over the place in regards to this. Bullied, not bullied but unpopular, quiet and loner. It is hard to say where the reality of it is, and what his reality said to him about it.

That's a great theory about the shooter with zero evidence that's what happened here. I find it amazing that when it comes to such shootings the standard line by Republicans is that they are caused by mental illness. And thus far that looks like the most likely conclusion here. Now suddenly many of you seem hell bent not on focusing on the likelihood of mental illness, but that he was a liberal.

He was truly a complex soul. Do you mean a grand total of $15 to one superpac? I just donated to the GoFundMe account for families of the man killed and the two victims that were shot. Hopefully that doesn't suddenly turn me into a Republican.

You have show several examples why I say people in general suck and if the best of God's creatures go to heaven it will have more dogs than people. There's a stairway to heaven and highway to hell for reason. They were both constructed to handle the anticipated traffic flow.

Oh look ... a bunch of people have said a bunch of stupid crap and somehow that's noteworthy and you think it's productive to repost it.... I guess that figures. Echo to us what you get in your echo chamber.
I guess somewhere there's probably someone that can post all the equally terrible things Trump himself has said about people - wishing them violence, making funny of their disabilities or simply questioning their motive for serving their country in the military ... But then you probably wouldn't see the relevance of that.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

I just have to talk down to your level in order to help you understand. So is this an indication you're ready for third grade conversations now? Don't rush things. I'm willing to work within the parameters of your constraints.

I can't help it that the voice in your head seems to make everything you don't understand (could probably have just left everything by itself) sound stupid. Again that would appear to be a you problem. Says the man who claims it's possible for some unknown third party candidate to rise up from the ashes in mid July to win the presidential election on Nov. 5th? Yes, you have trouble understanding things.

PEEN - the initial comment was agreeing with you about us not knowing enough to make judgements about the shooter. The rest of the post was just in general and not directed at you, sorry for not being clearer.
