I was kinda hoping as a result of last weekend Trump might have reached out to Kennedy. I know it was a long shot and the wheels have been in motion already in regard to the VP vetting process.

But that's literally it. I know this is probably asking a lot, but how about someone with some brains or even integrity.

With where we are right now, I don't think this news moves the needle in any direction for anyone.

People who weren't going to vote for Trump already don't like Vance. People who like Trump already like Vance.

Vance will probably be scrutinized and questioned for his "Never Trump" rhetoric years ago and he should be. It will most likely be a talking point from Democrats and a part of political ads. He'll have to continue to answer for it.

If I had to guess the strategy behind selecting him, it might be his (1) potential impact in the rust belt region and (2) his age as the future of the party, the latter being a huge topic of conversation for both Biden and Trump. For a long while, I thought it would have been Tim Scott, but it seems polling says many 18-50 year old black male voters have leaned more to the right (we'll see come Election Day) but maybe Trump didn't see the need to leverage that demographic anymore??

Vance doing an about face on Trump could work in their favor. That may be something they are counting on.

Nobody cares about the GOP VP. Trump lovers called his last VP to be hung.

How a guy can be quoted as saying - "Publicly, he called the Republican presidential candidate an "idiot" and said he was "reprehensible." Privately, he compared him to Adolf Hitler." So, Trump's VP choice calls him an idiot, reprehensible, and Hitler like.....that's not as bad as Republican party naming a civilly convicted rapist, convicted felon, and a bonified idiot- examples, nuke hurricanes, inject beach into body to kill covid, F-35 is invisible- you can't see it.....this is best team the republican party can come up with.....God save us.

Honestly don't know much about this guy.... watching his movie now which is pretty emotional to see where he came from...

Was a bit surprised... as others have said, Trump already had Ohio.... seems like he's very similar to trump... I thought Trump might go in a different direction to find someone who might help him with voters that might not typically go for him.... maybe Vance helps with some of the working class with his background...

I need to learn more about his political stance... but at first glance I'm impressed at his story coming from a pretty difficult situation, serving his country, going to law school, and becoming financial independent before deciding to get into politics....

I'm also thrilled that he's in his 40s... need younger politicians....

we'll see... not sure if he helps or hurts trump... but frankly right now, is there any way Biden wins? Guy is terrible, can barely make it through an interview.....

He has youth, ex military, wasn't raised with a silver spoon. He shows what can be done through hard work. You don't have to be the rich kid from the better side of the tracks.

and our choices just keep sucking. Now we have two terrible choices for President, and two lousy vice President candidates.
