This is a thread about Harris, not Vance. But you want to deflect. Oh I get it. You brought up how qualified the candidate was then call foul when asked if it applies to everyone and not just a black woman. Biden specificly indicated he would use DEI criteria to select his VP. This makes the question about Harris fair, no matter how much you don't like it. What you seem to call fair is singling out a candidate based on her race while failing to admit that she is at least as qualified if not more than the current vice presidential pick of trump. But I can see how you avoiding that entire discussion would be to your advantage. So let's talk about how qualified or unqualified the black woman is but not the white guy? Mmmmm hmmmmm...... BTW- Biden said he would select a black woman as his running mate. Once again you as someone on the right label that DEI. She was more qualified than the current republican candidate running for vice president. I'm sorry you don't want that discussed after it was you who brought up the topic of qualifications. Actually no, I'm not sorry about it. It's exactly what I expected.

Was Harris the best person to be VP or was she the best woman of color to be VP? This is the hinge of DEI. Race, sex, etc should not make anyone more likely or less likely to fill a role.
"Racialism simply cannot be undone by different or more racialism" Justice Thomas Again, Biden stepped in it. I don't like it, never did, never will. But on her own, Kamala was qualified. And certainly had a better resume than JD when selected. I call DEI analogous the Rooney Rule. The challenge that when you have lopsided history of inequity and wish to make long term adjustments, someone will get bent. That is why genetics should not be a consideration. Qualifications and expectations... just ask Mike Tomlin. But to ignore that bias does not exist is disingenuous as well. See secret service thread for a whole lot of it.

So is your question only related to Harris or does it include Vance? Does it only count when you refer to a black woman? And then you wonder why people believe that some of the criticism surrounding Kamala is more based on race than anything else. This is a thread about Harris, not Vance. But you want to deflect. Biden specificly indicated he would use DEI criteria to select his VP. This makes the question about Harris fair, no matter how much you don't like it. What's with the facts?? We need to scream racism... and then talk about dog whistles.

BTW- Biden said he would select a black woman as his running mate. So her primary qualification was she is a black woman? She was not only a successful prosecutor, but also the most populated state in America's attorney general. Then she was an elected senator. And Vance? It's probably not a good thing to continue pursuing a racial agenda.

Do you mean the facts that she was every bit as qualified if not more qualified than Vance? We need to scream racism... and then talk about dog whistles. In your laughter you fail to point out that I'm not the one who has been focused on her being selected only due to DEI/race while ignoring she is as qualified if not more qualified than the current selection of the republican running mate to be vice president. But I'm not surprised by that. It's your side who has been focusing on race while ignoring "facts".

It's probably not a good thing to continue pursuing a racial agenda. She slept her way to the top in Cali by having an affair with a married superior. Then she got picked for VP because she is a black woman and not based on merit. She puts the "Didnt Earn It" in DEI.

When a candidate picks the VP isnt the discussion first and foremost about who gives them the most votes, rarely have i ever seen a discussion about most qualified. ..... The discussion about qualifications seems to come AFTER or secondary to which candidate helps win votes. Seems Harris was qualified .... Regardless whether she was the most qualified or not. And no doubt a political decision was made regards the votes she then added to the Biden ticket.which is probably the same for most VP decisions.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

This is Just My Opinion however, I think this whole DEI thing is just another way of using the N word. Do you mean when just the right uses it or when anyone does? The correct answer is anyone. But you need to realize it usually comes from those leaning right of left.

BLM StatementIn part: While Joe Biden wasn’t our preferred candidate, we cannot ignore the troubling actions of the Democratic Party:
The DNC refused to host debates during the primary, even though a vast majority of Democratic voters wanted them. This would have likely allowed America to see the decline of Joe Biden in 2023.
The DNC changed the primary schedule and created rules that made it almost impossible for non-Biden candidates to appear on the ballot, effectively clearing the field of any challengers to the incumbent president.
Following the primary where millions of Black voters weighed in, after one poor debate performance, the DNC Party elites and billionaire donors bullied Joe Biden out of the race.

Mandating you hire a person based on sex, color, religion is no different than mandating you won't hire a person based on the same factors.
The deal is nobody is saying they won't hire a person based on said factors.

It's hilarious that you actually have to tell members of your own party behind closed doors not to be racist or misogynistic because you know that if you don't they will be. But for some it was already too late.

No, you are spinning again.
Using DEI criteria to get your candidate pool is discrimination. Spinning would be to infer as you do that only a white man with as little or less qualifications is worthy to be vice president while a black woman of similar qualifications is not worthy and only got the job due to her gender and race. In case you missed it, that's what racism and misogyny look like.

I directly said Biden chose his pool from black women and black women only. That is discrimination. I suppose latin women would not worthy. Maybe a black man. And in case you missed it, deciding who you will chose based on the color of their skin is what racism looks like. Deciding as a man you have to lift up a women because she needs you is what mysnginy looks like.

You do realize he said he would "prefer" to choose someone that fit that description, right? You do understand what the word prefer means don't you? What evidence do you have that all of those being considered by Biden for vice president were black women? I directly said Biden chose his pool from black women and black women only. Using a backhoe to dig yourself a rabbit hole? And of course since he chose a qualified black woman according to you the only reason he did it was to "lift up a women". Because somehow it's beyond to to admit she was qualified for the job. It's as if you think selecting a qualified black woman was a favor. How sad.
