They would have to work a deal before. The Niners don't have to trade the guy. If the Niners don't like the compensation, the deal doesn't happen.

I know you typed in purple, so I am not totally sure how to take your comment. We might be in total agreement.

It was in reference to mac suggesting we should have talked to Aiyuk first to make sure he would come here before we worked out a trade agreement with the 49'ers. Which is actually against NFL rules. So yes, we agree.

Aiyuk already informed the Browns and the Patriots he wasn't interested in playing for those teams.

What part about it's illegal to talk to a player already under contract is it you're missing here?

Yes, Aiyuk informed the Browns AFTER an agreement was reached on compensation between the Browns and the 49'ers. Dude, to do it the other way around is against the very rules of the NFL.

His next response will be "yeah, but you know it goes on", as if that helps him sell the tall-tale that Berry is a walking, talking embarrassment because one WR didn't want to play here.

Could be. I think it would only happen if the Vikings thought that Huntley could be at minimum the back-up QB.

I don't know the Vikings depth chart at the position, but why trade for a guy to be the 3rd QB? There are a lot of guys out there who can fill that role.

As it stands at QB the Vikings depth chart stands at Same Darnold at starter, Nick Mullens at back up and Jaren Hall as third string.

I would think both Darnold and Mullins are good enough. Huntley is better than Hall. I don't think I would make that trade.

Just saw the Pats traded LB Matt Judon to Atlanta for a 3rd. I would have liked to see us make that deal. Good edge rusher.

he's definitely a difference maker, but the contract/money is the issue. ATL will need to pay him pretty significantly

Second year in a row w/ a major injury potentially ending his season. Last year he only played in a a handful of games. He was a big part of that BUF defense up until these injuries.

Yeah, I'm not sure how they would evaluate Mullens in comparison to Huntley but as for myself I wouldn't see it as an upgrade.

First play, flag negates completion. Then a sack, then a 1st down throw to Tillman. 25 or so seconds left.

Pressure kills next two plays. Third down incomplete. Fourth down complete to Jeudy but out of time.

If you smack them in the face and they react, they are good to go. If they don't react and their eyeballs are half rolled back, you probably need to hold them out a series or two.

Probably so. The only thing is Huntley is proven in games and DTR isn't.

That said, I'd probably stick with DTR one more season. I'd look to get the best deal for Huntley I could find. Maybe a straight up pick or swap a 7th for a 6th, whatever.

Poor guy. I was looking forward to seeing him return kicks for us back when we signed him and be decent depth in the WR room. Not sure how teams would want to sign him after three straight season-ending injuries in preseason at age 32.

Move Huntley. As a player, might get aa little more for him. Not a major deal to be had here. Trade might be in his best interest. I kinda favor DTR; like to see more of him.

I'd move Huntley too. Heck, I'd move Winston - if Watson goes down and/or stinks again we are screwed anyways lol

The people on this board way overrate Huntley. Heโ€™s not good and wasnโ€™t good in Baltimore. He was carried by a coaching staff and defense that could carry a lot of stiffs.

Peen said proven in games? Really. The only thing he proved was you donโ€™t give up on the potential of DTR for someone thatโ€™s proven heโ€™s below average.

The Browns are too smart for this. I think what happened here is exactly what Memphis thinks. They needed another camp arm, and heโ€™s a trade chip to add another draft pick. Maybe sign him later after Watson gets hurt if heโ€™s not traded, gets cut, and isnโ€™t on a team.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Huntley is a camp arm at this point, he's not beating out Winston who is easily the second best QB on roster and has shown he can win games and put up yards in bunches(and ints too but he's still thrown for more TDS than INT, and they Browns aren't giving up on DTR after a year. But this whole moving huntley, teams know all this too, noone giving something up for a guy that will be a cut.

Huntley a cut....probably.....PLAYER NEWS- what do you think will happen with our 2nd RD pick- Hall. I wonder if the NFL and Browns are waiting until the city decides to charge him with and what if anything he pleads to......I HOPE we get him on the field this year.....he could be DONE.

I agree on Huntley - he stinks. PJ Walker-ish (maybe worse)

While I'm certainly not trying to insinuate that Huntley is some great QB, there's no need IMO to try and overstate the fact that he sucks by comparing him to P.J. Walker.

P.J. Walker has only completed 54.6% of his passes over his career. He has thrown 6td's compared to 16int's. In 2023 with the Browns he only completed 49.6% of his passes while throwing for 1 td. and 5 int's.

By contrast Huntley has completed 64.6% of his passes in his career with 8td's and 7 int's. In his last season with the Ravens, 2023, he completed 56.8% of his passes with 3 td's and 0 int's. In 2023 Huntley had a QBR of 99.3 while P.J. had a QBR of 52.2.

So no, he isn't "PJ Walker-ish (maybe worse)"

And that is what I meant when I said that Huntley has a proven track record compared to DTR. Rish seemed to think I was saying the guy was great. I'd keep DTR over Huntley. A Huntley deal would be a small deal. If by some chance we were to deal DTR, it would have to be for fairly significant compensation.

Not positive, but i would swear I saw this tactic on an episode of Marcus Welby, MD in the early 1970s. Either that or an episode of Dr Quinn, medicine woman.
