I'm fairly concerned about our OL issues ... our depth is BAD and we aren't healthy

Stefanski said most of the problems today were communication issues. I guess that’s to be expected since we are rotating backups

that might be the case ... we need to solidify that lineup by week 1

Hospital Ward.

The guy is a great player, but his brain is about squashed. The guy is going to be drooling by the time he is 55. For his sake I hope he hangs them up.

We were right on Ward. That sucks.

Ward is almost part-time with his injuries downtime. I want him healthy, solid CB, but I am worried about his future following football. Compliments to whoever coined "Hospital Ward." That is brutally clever, that is.

If all my experience serves me well (which often times it doesn't), I'm guessing there is some reconciliation that goes on between the parties. He'll probably end up with some sort of no-contest to a disorderly conduct variant along with anger management/counseling/etc. Not saying any of that is good, just what I've happened to see time and time again.

I remember Greg Williams saying the guy wouldn't last long if he kept tackling like an idiot. You can't keep tackling by throwing your head in to peoples knees.

Greg was right.

This is a bigger concern of mine as well. New OL coach, Conklin and Jed have not practiced and there has been no news that I’m aware of that either is nearing a return. The idea of Hudson at LT squaring off against Parsons in week 1 with Watson coming off his own season ending injury is not a good recipe.

Also, bummer on Ward. A concussion in a controlled environment is not a good.

We do have to keep things within the parameters. We don't need somebody blowing out Myles knees.

I think if Conklin and Jed come back healthy our O-Line will be fine, as long as our 5 starters stay healthy. Our backups are decent IMO.

someone mentioned this on the radio - but we *might* be forced to play Bitonio at LT and Zinter at LG if he continues to play so well ... until Jed is ready

I love Bitonio at tackle. He looks and moves like a tackle in my opinion.

I would love to see this if Jed isn’t ready and the rookie is ready.

What? ...Everything has finally clicked for Wills and they're just waiting for the games to count to unleash him. ...right? ...Right!?!?!

Yeah, the OL looked pretty worrisome. Adeniji and Ofedi both looked like they were wearing lead boots at OT. Also thought Pocic looked pretty bad, just didn't seem on the same page with the OGs, passing rushers off to the QB instead of other blockers.

We'll see what happens, but OL is definitely the spot that looks like it could be trouble to me, too.

I think we’re really gonna miss Callahan and his ability to make a stew out of whatever ingredients were in cupboard. He seemed to get the most out of marginal players.

That's one of my biggest worries.

Or the OL players don't fit the new system.

I'm hoping a lot of the issues were just chemistry. I.e, trying to "help" Cohen had Pocic distracted. Would be nice to have the actual starters together.

I actually thought Hudson looked improved during the brief bit he played.

Third string and rookies looked like third stringers and rookies. I'm not sure how long the vets will stick to the roster. Injury concerns complicate projections all over the OL.

I'm hoping Adeniji and Ifedi were more brought in to help teach the rookies than actually play for us.

Hard to get a feel for fitting the system when multiple projected starters weren't playing. It would appear preseason week one was more about evaluating the fringe players and younger guys, while trying to keep the starters off the trainers' table.

Hopefully it's one great defense and one team going against a mostly backup OL.

Browns O line…. Uhhh. Nothing too positive to report on that end.

One guy a glaring weakness…

our offense has been bad all summer

it could be our mismatched OL, not having Chubb, Watson rust ... whatever it is, we just have looked bad
