I want to repost this graph showing a squiggly line and numbers and dates. It is part of a post mentioning the economy, and on the graphic it has Trumps image alongside text saying 'best economy in history'... On the other side it has kamala's face and 'kamala crash'.

Anyone buying that it's possible for a well read, intelligent individual to not know what the chart is intended to represent? No, I don't believe so. Is it impossible? No. Is it highly, highly improbable? Yes.

What it's intended to represent and what it actually is aren't the same thing. The economy in general and the DOW specifically are two different things.

As somebody who has used the VA home loan twice now, it’s gonna be really sweet to see more everyday people the opportunity to obtain - or at least start building - generational wealth like I have. I love the economic agenda.

Let me try putting things a different way.

Some may avidly watch the exploitation of working people by large corporations happily as long as their personal numbers are going up. I actually think about what those numbers mean and how they are achieved, and I find it all distasteful. I find the world and the people in it depressing and angering enough without pinning my eyes on the evidence of greed and keeping track of the numbers every waking moment. In fact, I try to actively avoid them. I can see how that would seem unbelievable to greedy narcissists that always think of themselves first and are good at detaching the numbers from anything that would make them feel bad, if they were even capable of empathy.

A rising tide lifting all boats sounds great. Unfortunately, the mega yachts that are getting built as they ride that tide don't give a damn about the wallowing life rafts that they capsize in their wake-- beyond having them exist to exploit. I'm not focused on my personal accumulation of wealth. I've got enough, and don't really need more and more "bigger and better" stuff.

Maybe that makes me an idealist, but I'm fine with that.

Sadly it's not just a Republican thing. What you described can be said about politicians in general. Do I think Trump is the worst and most obvious example of someone who has scant interest in the wellbeing of the country and consumed with his own wealth and power? Yes. I'm not voting for Harris because I think she's the ideal candidate. Far FAR from it. I just can't vote for a guy that has tried to bulldoze a pillar of our democracy. It sucks because my vote will be understood as support for the person/party I'm voting for. I'll be holding my nose while I cast my vote, and hopefully after this election I can go back to voting Independent.

Did you ever notice when trump was touting stock market numbers you never saw these same people saying "The economy in general and the DOW specifically are two different things" even while some of us were trying to tell them that? Now all of a sudden it's a thing.

It's pretty sad that - when you think about it - there are very few presidential candidates that we (probably) vote for because we think they are great candidates. Much of the time we are choosing the lesser of two bad or below average choices.

While I understand what you're saying, I don't think your vote will be taken that way by many. Certainly by the media and the talking heads you are correct. But a large swath of America, me included are holding their nose as well when they vote in this election. I believe more people than you think will understand that many of the votes cast for Kamala are not because of who she is, but because of who she isn't.

Amen, once Trump isn't running the Rep Party--- I might consider their person.....I'm a liberal Rep at heart, but can't vote for DT or any who click their boots for him.
