Put your video game awards here, they are personal opinion! Favorite game you played of 2007 - Assassin's creed - Creed was exactly what I thought it was going to be, not a game where it is dominated by the combat, or had amazing combat. It was a game in which you ran around jumping from building to building doing crazy things and constantly climbing up things you would never be able to interact with in any other game. The environment and graphics were amazing and the story was good too. The combat wasn't as bad as people say, yes you use one button to attack primarily, but the countering/attacking while having up to 30 guys after you at one time can be pretty cool, not to mention the animations when you kill someone with your short blade and it has blood spraying out. Runner up - Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition Biggest disappointment of 2007 - Madden 2008 - I was excited to get this as was every other football fan, the game sucked! It seemed like if you were moving and throwing you would miss your target by up to 10 yards some times. I had passes go through my players bodies into DB's and other dumb things happen constantly, I traded this game in within a week of owning it, I hated it. Runner up - Halo 3 online especially. Biggest surprise of 2007 - Resident Evil 4 Wii edition - This game was the only game (besides Creed) where I got lost in playing it. What I mean by that is I would sit down and then look at the clock and it would be 3 hours later and it felt like I had only just begun. I have never been into the killing zombies or anything like that, but I won poker and said what the hell and went to get it, then found out it was $30 (Hell yeah) I ended up playing the hell out of the game until I beat it. The story is great and the difficulty the first time through is just right, not to mention the extras are awesome too (The Hand cannon kicks ass) Runner up - COD4 - Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm surprised that the game was going to be good, I was surprised at how much better it was than any online shooter I've played in a while. Not just that, they went from WW2 type of fighting to modern warfare and did an excellent job. Game you haven't played but are dying to play - Blue Dragon - I am a huge fan of RPG's especially the JRPG's like Final Fantasy. Blue Dragon is from the original creators of Final Fantasy and everyone I know that has played it loves it. I usually listen to Gamespot and other reviews, but Gameinformer gave it a 9 out of 10 and a buddy of mine said it's amazing. I love the turn based fighting and I just can't wait to get to it. Runner up - Mass Effect - I have played an hour and a half but that hardly constitutes as playing a game. It was an awesome first hour and a half and I can't wait until I get the chance to play through it. Best Graphics of 2007 - Bioshock - I have hardly played this at all, I just bought it finally, but the graphics are so life like it is ridiculous. The water and fire effects after the plane crash are just amazing and I have yet to see a game that has such good graphics. Runners up - Assassins Creed/Crysis - Creed gets the nod because of how sweet the environment looks and how they kind of blur and have other things going on when certain things happen. Crysis wins just because it's that damn good... Too bad its on my downstairs computer, I'm too lazy to go down there and play it Best game of 2007 - Super Mario Galaxy - Look, I have only played a little bit and that was last night, but Super Mario Galaxy is everything it's hyped up to be... It uses the Wii remote perfectly and the graphics are awesome. They aren't blow your mind awesome, but the lighting and environments are colorful especially on a HDTV. It is everything everyone has wanted since Super Mario 64, although better. I have so many damn games to play and I really want to play an RPG so I am putting off playing this, but the overall opinion of everyone is what I base this award off of, that and the fact that I have gotten to test it out a bit, its awesome. Runner up - Call of Duty 4 - Any other year this game would probably win for me, I haven't played enough of it, but I did play online and I lost myself in it, as I have explained what that means... I didn't want to put it down, but it was like 4 in the morning, sleep is essential. Runner up - World of Warcraft the Burning Crusade - Look, I have grown tired of WoW to be honest, but when was the last time an expansion for an MMO kept the game just as popular or more popular than the original release? I don't remember to be honest... The game is good, but it requires too much time. Games you're most looking forward to in 2008 - Jesus where to start... Super Smash Bro's Brawl, Star Wars Forced Unleashed, FINAL FANTASY 7 CRYSIS CORE, Lost Odyssey (Another RPG created from the original creators of Final Fantasy, looks AMAZING), Final Fantasy 13 (If the game ever comes out.) Those are the games I am looking forward to most, I have 2 of them pre-ordered and one reserved... I hope they all kick ass... 2008 has potential to be one of the best years in a long while for the video game industry, the PS3 has a year under it's belt, the 360 continues to put out solid titles, and the Wii keeps on selling like crazy and has Brawl, thats all it needs. Game you want to be announced that is in development in 2008 - Final Fantasy 7 remake for the PS3... Just do it already dammit. If anyone else has any ideas for awards feel free to add them, its time for me to play some Blue Dragon, peace!

My favorite and best game of the year is Super Mario Galaxy. Very fun game and very addictive. Great music, game play, and the best bowser fights. I just can't get enough of this game.
My runner up is medal of honor heroes 2 and the worst game I've played is Alien Syndrome.
Other good games are Star Wars Lego saga and Metroid Prime 3.
Some games I'm looking forward to are Super Smash Brothers Brawl and Crisis Day of Disaster.

Well, this is tough, because I just got 2 games for Christmas and am enjoying the hell out of both of them. I haven't had the time yet to see if I'll like them more than others. The only system that I've played games on this year was the PS3, so this is going to be swayed that way.
Game of the Year- MLB '07: The Show
I've had a blast playing this game, especially online. Very smooth gameplay, solid graphics, and just plain fun. Very competitive online. It was a toss up between that an Uncharted, but I'm only a few days into Uncharted so far.
Runner up - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. This may be my GOTY once it's said and done.
Biggest Dissapointment - Madden '08
It's been a couple years since I bought Madden, and the last time I did, I was too wrapped up in SOCOM to get into it too much. Maybe because it's evolved too much and gotten too complicated. Whatever it is, it's just not fun like it used to be. I had fun playing Madden for years. Now I just get frustrated because there's too many adjustments to make, too many buttons to do different things. I hated the playcalling screen as well. Took too long to find what I wanted.
Best Graphics - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Visually stunning. The jungle is beautiful. The was the sun reflects off of things is great, including the ocean. Just a pretty game.
Runner up - Crysis
Haven't actually played the game, but the vids I've seen online look great.
Most innovative game - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
They made this basically into a movie. Great story, fun, innovative gameplay so far. Some of the small things make this game. The character has all kinds of animations. You leave him sit still and he cracks his neck, stretches, etc. Has different facial expressions. Very detailed graphics. Great game.
Runner up - flOw and Pain
Cool little games they developed on the PSN. Only problem with Pain is the lack of maps. Just the city and one unockable variation for now, so it will go stale after a while.
Future games I want, in order in 2008:
1. Killzone 2 - this game looks phenomenal. The graphics just blew me away, and it's not even done.
2. SOCOM: Confrontations - my all time favorite series. Before I had the baby and worked between afternoons and days, I used to come home from work and play 2-3 hours a night easily. Can't wait for the next-gen version.
3. Gran Turismo 5/ Gran Turismo Prologue - Always visually stunning and ahead of the game, the GT series is fun to play with their enormous list of cars. The graphics are pretty much photorealistic, and Polyphony will give PS3 users a free sneak peak at the game in the downloadable Gran Turismo Prologue game.
4. Little Big Planet - I can see this winning game awards in '08. Very innovative , looks quite fun. Hopefully it comes out soon.
5. Grand Theft Auto IV - what else can you say?
6. Soul Caliber IV - haven't bought any fighter games in a while. Looks to be a good place to start.
7. HOME - not really a game, so I listed it last. The online community for the PS3's Playstation Network.

I don't have a next-gen console, and most the PC games I buy are out-dated, so I probably can't give any awards for much of anything.
Although my vote for most anticipated game of 2008 would have to be Spore. Anyone who's into anything "Sim" will be getting this one, and it's been hyped for years now.

Dude I hate Assassins creed. I thought it was too repetitive. I mean really, all you did the whole was 3 different things and those weren't even vary varied. All yeah, not to mention the story and ending both were lame (the ending more-so). The combat wasn't very fun or hard....all you had to do was wait to counter or combo hit...
I mean I enjoyed the game for the first 2-3 hrs but by the end was just playing it to see the ending. I think it is actually way overrated. I think the graphics and controls are good but the story, ending, and game-play are extremely lacking. I would give it 8.5 out 10.
My awards Most addictive: Halo 3 Best Graphics( I don't play pc) Tie between Bioshock & Creed...if Mass effect didnt have the problems with texture loading I would have put it number 1 Best Shooter: COD4 Most Value: Orange Box Game of the Year: Prolly Bioshock only because it was a completely new style of gameplay and had great story and music. Halo- Pretty much a next gen Halo 2 Orange Box- Game is actually quite old COD4: All has been done before Mass Effect: Great innovation and Comm. system but too many glitches and loading problems
But that's just my 2 cents
Go Browns!!

Favorite game 2007 -probably Halo 3... nothing really special on the game, but it continues the halo tradition with awesome graphics now that it's on 360...
Runner up - Call of Duty 4, NCAA Football 2008
Most surprising game - The Simpsons game, it seems like every other year the Simpsons come out with a video game that falls flat on its face, they hadn't made a decent one since Bart vs. the space mutants (NES), but the newest version of the game which came out in the last few months is quite surprising, and is the complete opposite of what they've put out, i reccomend it to anyone, especially fans of the show
Runner up - Assassin's Creed, i say this because i was somewhat dissapointed, it is still a very good game, but it wasn't what it was cracked up to be, too much hype, it had been talked about 2 years prior to being released...
Game I'm dying to play - Bioshock, it's sitting unopened on my coffee table, i've just been so hooked on call of duty 4 and Ace Combat
Runner up - Stranglehold, the demo is fun, but the game isn't worth 60 in my opinion, i will buy when it's at 30 bucks
Best graphics - Bioshock (from the demo anyways)
Runner up - Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty 4, both are impressive and would win most years
Best Game 2007 - Call of Duty 4, hooked.
Runner up - NCAA Football 2008
Game you're most looking forward too - GTA IV of course, Devil May Cry 4, Mercenaries 2, Battlefield: Bad Company
I'd also like to add an award for most dissapointing game, and that would be Madden 2008
they really need to get going on the Madden series, i'm not one of those 2k freaks, but Madden hasn't been good in a few years, and bring back training camp, as well as al and john in the booth, i'm already sick of that generic radio guy, crap, he doesn't even sound like a homer

To say you hated it and then give it an 8.5 is the most contradiction I have ever seen in a statement in my entire life.
Unless your scale is a point scale in which it goes from 8.5-10 then it makes no sense.

I got this for Christmas, and so far I love it. Was a little hesitant to play multi-player, as I use a trackball mouse, and I find it's not as efficient fast aiming, and my reflexes aren't what they were when I was 20.
But I have really enjoyed it, I can do without the free-for-all rounds, but I do fine in the team deathmatches.
I played online for the first time on Sunday, and played quite a bit Monday and Tuesday as well. I look forward to getting some of my friends online and working as a team with voice chat.

I had quit that game about 6 months ago, but just last week re-opened my subscription, thought I might play out of boredom. But after logging in 2-3 times, I find I have no interest still, so I am canceling it again, and will focus on CoD4.

I'd like to give some awards.....but I don't have a console right now. I was an avid gamer since birth (owning 10 of the 14 major consoles before this generation*). I have yet to add my name to this current generation of gaming consoles. Why? 1. I'm a new dad = no time 2. I can't decide on which one Price isn't an option. Honestly, if someone on this board offered to buy me the console of my choice I wouldn't know what to pick. Each and every system has its own pro's and con's. And when I think I've finally decided, my current choice changes after reading something online. Xbox 360PROS = Big list of current games, great online service, Console is moderately priced, has Halo 3, GTA IV, Rock Band and Skate, has the better GH3 version (and GH2 + all GH1 songs), is high-def and I like the controller. CONS = No SMG or Zelda, No Wi-Fi built-in ($100 is crazy for the wireless adapter), HD-DVD external is $180!!! (it's nice to have the option but it's crazy high), when you add those two items to the base price of the console it's higher than the PS3, online service is $50/year, the system hardware has been slammed with the RROD problems and I don't know how much time I'll have to play all the great games and playing any of them online (can't really play Halo 3 online with a crying baby). PS3PROS = Built-in Wi-Fi and BluRay, seems to be gaining market share after the price drop, has Rock Band, GTA IV (which is outselling the 360 version) and Skate, online service is free, is high-def and I like the controller. CONS = No Halo 3, SMG or Zelda, highest price of the three consoles, no rumble in the controller (which is changing in Spring), GH3 is laggy, their free online service lacks the refinement of XBL (you get what you pay for I suppose), none of their exclusives really JUMP out at me and I don't know how much time I'll have to play all the games and playing any of them online. WiiPROS = Cheapest console, has Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda, I know we'd use it when friends and family come over to visit, has Wi-Fi, the smallest size of the systems (I'm limited in space) and since it's limited in the amount of cool games it won't occupy most of my free time (which may or may not be a pro - depending on how you look at it - remember, I'm a dad and time is precious) CONS = Some people say it's ends up collecting dust after the "gimic" is done, No Halo 3, Skate or Rock Band, GH3 is in mono and has zero DLC, after 4-5 games (Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda, GH3 and a few others) there's nothing else I want to play right now, it's IMPOSSIBLE to find and I don't think I like the controller (I've only played it a few times). * 2600, NES, Genesis, SNES, Saturn, N64, PS, Dreamcast, PS2 and Xbox ( List of best-selling game consoles ).

while that is true, it doesn't necassarily mean you have to buy that adapter
i bought a logitech adapter for the 360 on ebay for 20 bucks, works just as good...
every console has it's obvious pros and cons...
but usually, there is one or two, or even three games that you just have to have...
and for me, that is the halo series, as well as fable...
but don't forget about all the games that are available on every console, the sports games, etc...
i think i also made my final decision based on the fact that i enjoy online play, and microsoft has that department on lockdown...

Yeah, I saw the bridge adaptors for $20-30. Is that what you got? Logitech? Because I heard that no other wireless adpater works with the system (or works well enough that most can config it).
I was going to add it in the Pro column but it may be a Con too. It's still an extra piece I have to buy and setup (for a technology that the other two have built-in). Even if it is $20-30.

Yeah, thanks for the input. I'll keep your points in mind.
Hopefully my post won't turn this into a console war thread. I just didn't want to create a whole new thread....lazy first day back at the office I guess.

make sure that if you buy the logitech playlink, that you have a router hooked up, otherwise, it'd be a pain in the rear, with the exception of that, the thing is flawless, and for 20 bucks, it's perfect...
it also works for other stuff that you want to make wireless...

Good 3rd party games are hard to come by for the wii, its mainly because developers are to lazy to make a good game that will push the wii to its limits (medal of honor heroes 2 does do a good job though), they slap something together and throw it out there. But some are getting better, EA for example. The best games for the wii so far are made by nintendo but hopefully other 3rd party developers see its potential and start putting out quality games. Don't forget you could download classic games also.
I love the controller, it may take a little bit to get use to it but once you are, you'll fall in love with it. I don't know if I could ever go back to using a regular controller.
I know what you mean about time, once school starts up again I won't have any time at all to play.

probably in pre-orders...
i'm not putting anything down until they set an actual date...
i almost got duped into putting money down when it was supposed to come out in october...
supposedly it is going to come out in march, but it just says march, with no date number to go with...
i will lay down my pre order, but not until there is a date...
plus, they just added a gamestop by my work, which is awesome...

Game of the Year - COD4.. Normally not a huge FPS shooter person but I gotta say I loved the feel of it.. great single player AND multiplayer.
Disappointment - Halo 3.. The original Halo was something I was almost jealous not to have, i've played Halo 3 with my friends and I just dont see the big deal about it, shoot at each other while charging and hope you hit the punch button first. Way, way overrated.

My vote for GotY is BIOSHOCK. COD4 was fun, but this game is outstanding and extremely deep.
