I know this group appreciates some damned fine songwriting skills. I'm a sucker for the little guy that just wants to go out in the woods and press a well-crafted song to Youtube.
Right on, bro. Check out some of his stuff. A lot of it is parody, but there are some profound lyrics in every track. This is the kind of guy that sings himself a song about coffee on the way to the kitchen.
The blues broken down to the raw roots of it.......
Just a side note about the song. The lyrics to the song are actually trying to con the banker to help him pay for the funeral. The lyrics go "I got me a 1950 Les Paul guitar" as what he thinks the banker would take for collateral on the loan. The fact is the Les Paul guitar was not invented until 1952.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
And the finale. They played a 22 song set, great show. Always love when my daughter and me go to these concerts together. We are going to another tonight, Of Virtue, at the Ace of Cups, here in Columbus.
My first concert was The James Gang and Humble Pie. What a show that was! Another band I saw quite early in my live concert experiences. A young Sammy......

Masterpiece from Cleveland's finest. Strong Mike Patton/Faith No More/Mr. Bungle vibe on this album.
GRAND GESTURE:
I have always been here before Things left unsaid Isolation of the purest form Means to an end Just a tired old metaphor Written time and again
What I wouldn't give to have it all back Life vanished in the blink of an eye Don't tie yourself to me It's not all there's to be And I thank you for all the love you've shown But now it's time I traveled on alone
We'll meet again I pray you'll take care of the where and the when Wе'll dream again Our eyes drownеd in laughter, caution to the wind The void to fill The wind left the branches, the leaves standing still So sleep till then The time may have passed us, though love never will
As we face these final moments Adorned with those who mattered most Visions of those passed To guide us toward the great unknown There was never a doubt that your greatest dreams would take flight You taught me how to live Who'll teach me how to see you die?
In the late 60's Blood Sweat and Tears use to play at La Cave around 100th St. and Euclid.
It was a basement coffee house that turned into a small nightclub. I don't think I have ever seen better live music than going to that club. I loved the place. It was small and nothing really separated the band from the audience. Bands played sets. And in between sets hung out with people in the club. It was a very cool and relaxed atmosphere.
Blood Sweat and Tears were regulars. They played there often. Great band with some terrific musicians who were nice guys. I loved this song from them. It could have been a Ray Charles song.
Grand Funk Railroad (maybe not the song you're thinking of though)
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

One other from my youth that is not often brought up ......

I guess that this is the best place to post this rant.
Nothing makes me angrier than when I’m listening to a couple good Neil Sedaka records on the weekend, and my neighbor starts cutting his grass. It’s like he thinks to himself “Oh he’s out there relaxing, taking a load off, so let’s tick him off”.
I can listen to Sedaka inside my house but nothing better than listening to him outside while the grill is going.
Nothing makes me angrier than to hear people listening to Neil Sedaka! j/k
But I think this is one of those circumstances that explains why God created headphones and ear buds.
There are enough issues out of our control going on in the world to be angry about. No use wasting that energy over something that is within our control and easily fixable.
