I absolutely love this show. I never watch all 3 hours or so that it's on, but I catch what I can.

Is it just me.... or is it a blast to listen to some of the rediculous things people call in about. Also, when people call in with a very good point, Bruce or whoever is running the show that day is shocked or going crazy because it isn't similar to their own.

Bruce said the Browns would be absolutely stupid to give up Anderson... He says forget about the draft you can get everyone good in FA.... well.. true, but what about Winslow, Edwards, Thomas, Wimbley, and yes Quinn.

Anwyays, I love their Quinn tracker and usually make it a point to rip the person who calls about Quinn because they automatically assume they're retarded. One guy made a great point one day about Quinn and the future of the Browns and what they should do with the QB situation and Bruce didn't like it wouldn't let him get another word in and cut the call. Pretty lame of Bruce, but it was entertaining.

Then, about the defensive line.... one person calls in and says we need to get smaller faster defensive ends. "Why are all our ends slow and fat?" Bruce agrees and they throw out some silly names and have a good time knowing their on the same page. However they fail to realize the Browns run a 3-4 requiring bigger lineman up front. Sometimes I don't think Bruce knows what he is talking about, lol.

Then with the Indians.... FIRE WEDGE!!!! Wow!!?!?!? Fans really didn't appreciate the all he did last year. Key positions folded by lack of production and injuries yet he puts a team on the field that goes to the ALCS one game away from the series. Oh well, MLB saw it and gave the manager of the year award.

Anyways.... I was just wondering some people's opinions about the show, their favorite callers, or moments.... and so on.

I watched it when it first started, but gave up. The callers are just too moronic. When Mark Schwab fills in (typically during baseball season) I try to watch/listen, but outside that, I can't stand it. Bruce knows a little about baseball, but nothing on football and basketball. I told one of my friends during the season that the promos for the show made me want to make sure that I missed it ("Rumors say that the Red Sox are after Rangers closer Eric Gagne... What about the Indians??? Hello! Mark Shapiro!!!" That one was the worst, by far).

I was watching yesterday too when Cairns was the host and a caller phoned in and said mentioned Quinn and brought up the point that he had no help in college. Cairns quickly disagreed and said that there were 6 ND players in the NFL from last years team.

OK... who? Ryan Grant - doing a hell of a job in GB, but did ND even use him? Darius was the one they always utilized. Cairns mentions that there are 3 offensive lineman in the NFL, 2 of which are starting... OK, but do offensive lineman catch passes???? BQ didn't have one good WR while in college, except for maybe Stovall his junior season. Then everyone goes on to blame Quinn for the loss to LSU in the bowl game. If they had a defense that game is a W and Quinn is picked higher in the draft because there isn't any talk about the inability to win in a big game and so on....

Look at what ND did this year.... You can't tell me the departure of Quinn didn't have something to do with that. To me... It just shows how much Quinn meant to everyone on that ND team.

Yet, Cairns wouldn't buy that argument and said that he had plenty of weapons and was on a very good team.

Samardzija was good and would be in the NFL if not for his pitching. He probably would have been a first day pick, I imagine.

Actually, everything you mentioned about the show sounded a lot like what goes on here.

But I do live in Northeast Ohio and I have watched the show. It has it's moments when you can really learn something. But there is, as you say, a lot of "entertaining" things going on that may not reflect value in a sports discussion.

I did forget Samardzja or whatever forgive me, but still... Quinn had nothing compared to OSU, LSU, Florida, or most of the other SEC, BIG 12, BIG 10 schools

I've watched it from time to time.. pick up a 1/2 hour here and there..

It's ok.. I've seen some of what your talking about.. This was a while back but someone called in and was adament about getting rid of RAC.. AND SAVAGE.. that they have destroyed the team...LOL Cracked me up really..

God I love people like that.. they make me feel so smart

Drennen is a bit of a blustery personality.. Big mouthed, but sometimes comes up with decent stuff.. I used to like him on the radio before he got booted and jailed for gambling..

it's ok,, I don't go out of my way to watch..

you see that with most sports-talk call in shows, the screeners will try and find the dumbest callers possible to make the host look smarter... dan patrick was notorious for it...

everyone has their opinion on the anderson/quinn thing, i say why not keep both? if green bay can draft aaron rodgers right around where we drafted quinn, and green bay can still keep favre around, why can't we keep DA too?

although if someone offered me something ridiculous for anderson (like a first and a third, but i will go on record saying that will never happen) i'd take it, how could you not?

as far as saying fire wedge goes, that's pretty dumb, wedge pushed every button right in the alcs, but it wasn't his fault that his 2 cy young candidates choked on the big stage, as well as his 3rd base coach forgetting the situation...

these are almost as dumb as the people that come out and say that lebron is going to leave, any time the cavs lose a few in a row... it's pretty laughable, and as educated sports fans, you just have to take it with a grain of salt...

Drennen was a tool on the radio and he's still a tool on TV.

IMO Jim Donovan is the best sports guy this city has.

I like Rizzo, he has a entertaining show, I also like Munch. Galeti does a nice job on his radio gigs to.

i usually catch the end of munch's show when i get home, the only show i can really listen to is roda, but that gets boring at times...

i know a lot of people don't like him for obvious reasons, but he's really not that bad, and he's quite objective when it comes to the nfl...

rizzo is just more fun, a lot of roda's show is whining and complaining from callers

Tony "The Tool" Rizzo? Quite frankly he is very annoying...not only with just his take on sports but his childish "wheee" noise he makes every now and then. He sounds like a cast member from the movie "Deliverance" more than he does a sports boy. I don't care if he is one of "Cleveland's Own"...it doesn't make him any more entertaining. Same goes for Munch, and the Steeler shill Roda. They are the main reason why I don't listen to sports talk anymore.

Since we're talking TV sports talk shows - what happened to Cleveland Rants on FSN with Les Levine and Kendall Lewis?

Was that show strictly for the Indians season? I thought it was going to be a a regular show covering the Browns and Cavs too. I know Kendall had his show after the Browns games; but what happened to Les? I hope there wasn't a falling out between these two guys -I really enjoyed their show this summer. Any info would be appreciated - Thanks

I am just like you, I live and die by this show. Every one of Bruce's lines is completely classic, man that guy is good.

And how about his effort, staying up last year to do the post-game of the Tribe and the Cavs. I love it because he tells it like it is, he clear, cut, and concise. This show is one of the best sport programs currently on TV, way better than any of that crap you see on ESPN.

BTW, Say Hi to Gino for me!!!!!

IIIIIIIIIIII love ya Cleveland!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Bruce, but I've noticed lately how he covers up for being completely wrong on things.

Lately I've really gotten into Rizzo's show, it's the best radio show in Cleveland and I gotta support the OU grads. Just seems like a couple guys doing a radio show on the barstool. Not much of a Munch fan though, he lost me when he stopped allowing people to mention BQ on his show.

Is Rizzo only on the radio? only in the Cleveland area?

I've heard of it, but never caught the show, I'll have too sometime.
