BREAKING: The #Browns are trading WR Amari Cooper to the #Bills, per
@Schultz_Report
. Another blockbuster WR trade.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Obvious that he didn't want any part of this S show - good for him.

After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

Does this mean the fire sale and rebuild are now officially under way?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Seemingly his head was out of it in Week 1 as many people saw. Maybe the contract extension had something to do with it, trade rumors, or something else entirely, but Cooper wasn't Cooper from the jump. Give Tillman more targets and snaps and see what we have in him. With the current state of the team's performance and (lack of) probability to do anything significant, seeing what we have in him may help shape decisions in 2025.

He will suddenly not drop a single ball. Watson continues to destroy this franchise.

there's no doubt that he'll have a good season now with Josh Allen. But he was gone and we suck. So might as well get something

Start trading away your best assets...that is exactly what I thought the Browns would do next..with a 1-5 record and the team busted up physically, time for upper management to start a new rebuild.

Best way to change the subject and begin the new rebuild. The Browns are going to TANK THE 2024 SEASON..!

First step in punting on the season. Watson has this franchise in shambles.

I'd be curious as to the mood in the lockerroom.

Yep..who's next on Depodesta's chopping block..?

Instead of making the obvious move, taking Watson off the field...the Browns trade away their best WR. Great Baseball logic.

I’m not questioning the trade because a 3rd pick is much needed but I just think we starts in the wrong end.
As long as we don’t solve the Watson problem we will get less and less back when we trade away the rest of our assets.

Yes. I believe so.

In fact I would expect others may follow. Teller. Maybe someone from the secondary.

Moore if they can find someone to trade with.

This is the beginning.

The handwriting was on the wall before the season began.

The trade for Aiyuk was real. They were never going to resign Cooper.

This is no surprise and just the beginning.

So the window is shut. The window that we had when we all thought KS was the answer. When we thought Baker was the answer. When we thought we had a shut down CB tandem in Ward and Newsome....

So we had a pretty decent team. We can argue about Baker and what happened when he got hurt, but there's no point.... But we went from a pretty darn good team to a pile of poo.

I don't see how Berry survives. He whiffed on draft picks including Wills who was a critical pick. We've undervalued the wr position and relied on gaining injury prone OL with trash as back up. Watson has been a disaster... And no matter Haslams role, Berry gets stuck with that trade.

So new GM surely natural for them to Want to clean house and bring their HC and FO in....

Here we go.

I'm not sure if the window is closed or the door was slammed shut. But either analogy would seem appropriate for where things stand as of now. But as Led Zeppelin would say, "The Song Remains The Same".

Happy for Cooper. He'll be rejuvenated playing with Allen and in their O.

In a crappy way this is a good move for us. His value was only going to continue to tumble as the season went on, and we ended up getting more back in the trade than what we sent the Cowboys to get him in the first place. Though, disappointing... Cooper's time here from beginning to end was a savvy move.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Edit to add: Cooper wasn't going to be back after this season.

J/C. If this is really the beginning of a rebuild, do we think Haslam let's Berry do it again? I truly don't have a feel for it one way or the other - it's the Browns

i'm hearing Coop had his contract restructered so he becomes a FA this year.I'm not financially astute enough to figure this out,but I'm guessing the Browns paid him a bunch of Money and now trade him. That doesn't seem like good sound business decision making.

It will be very interesting who, if anyone, we move next. Ward? Garrett? Njoku? Newsome? Zadarius? Not sure who else has any value

I'm all for going complete re-build mode ... see what we have in Tillman/Thrash .. sell off our viable pieces for draft value

BUT, IMO, that also means we should be playing DTR the rest of the season

The window has not slammed shut. It’s getting close, though. We still have a lot of good players in their prime and MUST solve the QB dilemma.

IMO we won’t retain Wills, but we still have good O-linemen when healthy and we have a good defence.

And talk of trading Garrett is foolish.
