I propose a list of all the good things about the election-
1. We won't have to spend so much money on prosecuting the President elect- all the investigations and committees can do "real work" after he pardons himself.
2. We won't have to spend millions fixing the Capital building- I predict the Democrats don't peacefully attack it and cause millions of dollars of damage.
3. We will have fewer cabinet positions to fill- Republicans will abolish Department of Education, EPA, etc.....more to come.
4. Foreign Wars will instantly stop- we have our Super Man in charge now- all wars will cease because they are all afraid of him. Ukraine will cease to exist because President Trump will call Putin and say take it over we don't care.
5.NATO will disband- we won't spend another dime in Europe- they haven't paid their fair share, so all troops are coming home- we are not their keepers.
6. We tell Mexico we will militarily attack any migrants walking thru Mexican nation towards our nation- we won't tolerate foreigners.
7. We will pass an amendment to Constitution will states men are men, women are women, no other option exists and there is no religious freedom, you must use the bible to be sworn into service even if you are Muslim, Jewish, atheist, witch, etc....the bible used will the official Trump Bible- New James or Catholic/ no exceptions.
Please add your list of MAGA future accomplishments.

Time for a semi-serious post.
1. With election day behind us and the results not being close, I'm happy that we've seen the end of (this iteration) Stiffarm. So there's that.
2. In 2020, Trump lost but GOP made big gains downticket. Myself and others took this is as a "Not Trump but unhappy with the Dems" type of result. Now you have Trump being elected and the GOP taking the Senate. That's a big deal, and I hope that's a wakeup call for the opposite party.

I've come down on Trump a lot recently, for what I consider to be glaringly obvious reasons, but I harbor no fondness for the Democrats, either, despite the fact I was deemed to be a "Harris Supporter" and a "Libtard" by some on this board. They just can't get out of their own way. They are rudderless, lack charisma, lack clear cohesive vision, and are bumbling. After 2016 and 2024, I honestly don't know what would serve as an effective wake up call for them anymore. Hell, in 2020, they had nobody to go with outside of Biden. I'm not sure what a renaissance for them would even look like.
I honestly think we're past the point of no return. I've seen it in my family. They are so hard-programmed to think that Republicans = good and Democrats = bad, that it doesn't even mater who the candidate is. You see that on the board, too. All it took was four years for everyone to forget about the insanity.
Even if Democrats can wake up, I doubt it will be enough. It's a new American era. It would take something concretely catastrophic happening during the next Trump administration for that to shift, and I certainly don't want to witness something like that happening.

This election obviously didn't go the way I hoped or thought it would go. As a naturally curious person, I want to look into what (I think) the individual and results as a whole say. What was America trying to tell the two parties with their vote?
I consider myself relatively non-biased. Again, the election didn't go the way I wanted it to, nor did it go the way I expected. Clearly, there is a significant portion of Americans that see the current political climate differently than me, and I want to try to wrap my brain around that.

Like you, I need to know what I didn't see. I guess right now it was MORE about the economy than I thought. I guess that the lies he told were believed I'm pretty disgusted with some of my fellow Americans for not being able to see him for what he is. On the other hand, I just looked at the Dow,,, Damn it went up 1300 points in 15 minutes. My stocks are going gang busters.. But then, they already were up since Biden took over..., so at least that continues. for now.

So, what does a successful Trump presidency look like? Since he ran on concepts of a plan, I’d like to know from Trump supporters.

We don't have to worry about people trying to steal the election with fake electors this time.
We don't have to worry about top state election officials being pressured to change the vote count this time.
We don't have to worry about over 100 police officers being assaulted on Jan. 6th while a mob tries to stop the certification of the election this time.
We don't have to worry about the loser lying about how the election was stolen this time.
Things one would think are very basic things but not anymore.

What concrete campaign platform did he run on, and what are his plans to implement it that had people to vote for him? Or was it just votes against Harris? Again, I'm genuinely trying to figure this one out.

I worry had the colors been reversed that Harris would follow through with gutting the courts.

Yeah, after McConnell helped stack the SCOTUS it would have been a shame to see that undone.

I'm more than happy to listen to how the circuit and district courts are the highest court in the land. How they can overturn gun laws for the nation. How thy can overturn abortion laws for the nation. This should be good.
That's like comparing a misdemeanor to a felony.

That's like comparing a misdemeanor to a felony. If you understood how things work you know greater than 95% of decisions come out of those. SCOTUS takes a very small portion, and it usually takes a long time to get there. The inferior courts do the women's work, but I notice you didn't actually address the issue, you stayed with crickets.

It's not my fault all you can hear are the crickets. They take up all the major cases you and trump care about. Why else would he have promised to stack the SCOTUS, which he managed to do, and all of you went wild about it? Because you know better than what you just posted.

Dude you've gone full blown delusional. He didn't stack SCOTUS, he had the chance to appoint justices when there was openings. Again, you aren't crying that they removed the filibuster for other federal judicial nominations. Crickets abound with you n

Let me tell you exactly what you're doing. You're making excuses for Republicans attempting to do exactly what they did with the SCOTUS. Refusing to even hear any attempted appointment so long as a democrat was in the White House. What they did was unprecedented. There were judge appointments stacked up as they tried to avoid approving any of them until a Republican was president so THEY could stack the court.
Just like when Obama was president they refused to hold a hearing on his appointee because he was in "the last year of his presidency" while they quickly approved a trump appointee during his last year as president before the election.
Your double standard is clear here. Hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Stacking the court based on politics is wrong all the time. Whether that's the circuit court, district court or any court. Yet you want to give it your stamp of approval because the Republicans were doing it.

I've been pretty vocal we need the fillibuster.

To help stack the court? You have just chosen to pick the evil you prefer on this one.

Refusing to vote on any judge appointment under a current president until your party is in power so you can not only appoint openings during a republican presidency but also the openings under the previous democrat president.
This isn't complicated.

I thought that is what Trump did. It's an honest question because my recollection is that Trump was the one that went gangbusters appointing judges during his first term (and before anyone screams that I'm making a partisan statement, those openings were there largely because they went unfilled from the previous term).

This isn't complicated. Your explanation is complicated. It's almost like you can't understand political parties are all about power. Obama appointed 329 judges. I think there were votes.

It's an honest question because my recollection is that Trump was the one that went gangbusters appointing judges during his first term (and before anyone screams that I'm making a partisan statement, those openings were there largely because they went unfilled from the previous term). Reid decided with federal Judicial appointments the fillibuster was in the way, but kept it for SCOTUS appointments. Then some people whined when the same was done for SCOTUS appointments like it was some new unfair move. The nuclear option was notably invoked on November 21, 2013, when a Democratic majority led by Harry Reid used the procedure to reduce the cloture threshold for nominations, other than nominations to the Supreme Court, to a simple majority. Some people don't care about cheating the system when their sports ball team wins, it's merely a cricket convention. Trump in his first term saw 234 appointments. Biden has had 213. I wouldn't call it gang busters for either. Part of the job is to nominate judges that the Senate will confirm. Some would have you believe this is evil.

You guys really red to stop your whining. The fact that he won the popular vote, and now has the senate in his pocket should tell all of you lefties how Americans feel about the job that Biden and Kamala did.
Your crying is pathetic.
You can be happy about lower gas prices, lower food prices, better jobs, a secure border, more law enforcement, and most importantly, a renewed sense of American pride.
You’ll also be happy when Trump puts Middle Eastern terrorists back in their place- he’ll do that after he puts an end to the Russia/ Ukraine conflict that started under Joe’s watch.
Or you can keep crying.

how exactly does that help with grocery cost?

how exactly does that help with grocery cost? Fewer illegal mouths to feed, as a result, fewer taxes, food costs less. I could list more ways but don’t have time right now.

Read every post- I'm struck by the points all folks made- some thought I was kidding about my first post, I was tongue in cheek a bit.....come the day after Trump's PEACEFUL assentation back to power it will be VERY interesting to actually see what he does. He has railed against a number of our established institutions- ie. civil service- he wants to put political appointees into power positions.....I think that is a TERRIBLE idea.
I think the stock market is up significantly because we didn't have riots and the election hasn't been deemed false or crooked BECAUSE the proper MAN won. Think how it would be if he'd lost. That says something about our country. I wonder how much foreign nations corrupted/influenced our election. There are many posts on youtube/throughout the internet which suggest Trump is considered a "buffoon" by other foreign leaders- we are the leaders of the free world because of our economy and military might- doesn't mean we have the "greatest system or democracy" in the world. The world has breathed easier because THE POWER seems stable.
All JMHO, our country wasn't ready for a black/non-white female to be elected as President. Many call her an idiot/ unprepared- yet we elected a man who IS a felon, who has his CFO in prison currently awaiting his golden parachute after prison, and we get the second version of " I hire the best and brightest" only to have him fire them AND having many declare he's unfit to serve. WOW, we live is strange times. Mock me if you wish- we need to pray hard for our country AND our new President to be. Hope, God Blesses America.
