What kind of bigger issues are you referring to?

I hope they aren't greedy enough to kill the fillibuster. I also wonder if the people who, yesterday, thought it should go still believe it should.

No it doesn't. We are a democratic republic of independent states. This county has never been a true democracy. This country would look far different if popular vote was the only compass we followed.

LOL, I would have no desire. I just hope Elon doesn't fire me.

I actually am trying to dig into what those issues are, because I must be missing something.

Looks like Trump won most states, and won the popular vote.

Amen, now I wonder besides PARDONING HIMSELF what his first acts are- like before he talked a big game. Make America Great Again-

1. Finish his wall-- it was nearly finished four years ago, he claimed it was finished- so finishing it shouldn't take very long- he'll get Mexican money to finish it.

2. When does the round up of illegals start- who does it, where will they be held, maybe put them in tents in Arizona to bake- how do you feed millions in desert.

3. Will the military prepare to use nukes on the next hurricane brewing in Caribbean- we should drop it close to Haiti or PR because they are garbage.

I hope we distractors of President Trump are not rounded up and put in prison- as a non-MAGA member do we retain citizenship?

I voted for the Donald, my wife went the other way - she’s a devoted Democrat.

I think that people need to chill. He’s not a king, he’s not a dictator. I think that he’ll tighten up the border, bolster ICE, and shrink the IRS, may find a way to fix Palestine and Israel.

As for the economy, he’ll drill for oil and reduce fuel costs, which will reduce the cost of everything else.

The beauty of our country is that the individual states can more or less tell the prez to bleep off if they feel that he’s overstepping his power.

The one person that I know that may be negatively affected by this is my best friend. His girlfriend from Belize is set to move here in January. - I can see this changing.

As for everything else, relax people. He was a great president the first time and will be this time.

I don't objectively see any way he "fixes" anything on the international stage. Remember that he was in that role for four years already. Israel and Palestine is pretty much impossible to fix, to boot. I don't care who the POTUS is.

I specifically worry about what a second DJT term means for Ukraine, and by extension, Europe as a whole. I do NOT like how cozy Trump is with Russia and Putin. Regarding middle east, like DL05 said, it doesn't matter who's pres, it's a wash. That area is a black hole and will continue to be.

I am also frustrated with what this means for Trump's ongoing legal issues. He's going to (mis)use his pres power to save his own butt.

This time no, but prior to the results the tone was it needs to go. The next election cycle is already starting.

I think that last part is a given, and the classified docs case really chafes me, being someone who works in that type of environment. But I guess it wasn't something people really cared about in the end. I guess I just want to know why.

I do wish it would be more weighted. The whole idea to me that if a candidate gets 50.1% of the state's votes leads to them getting 100% of the electoral votes doesn't logically sit well with me, and that's regardless of the party who wins.

See Nebraska and Maine. States choose, and thus far states have mostly chosen winner take all.

I think if there was a survey you'd see lots of different preferences. Right now it is how it is.

In 2016 it felt like Clinton played the game as though the rules said popular vote and was surprised it didn't work. Harris didn't seem to make that mistake, she's just less likable than Clinton.

The problem with the Dems is they talk about the minimum wage. Republicans think about the maximum wage. Take a look at the results. Black men are tired of talking about minimum wage. So are Hispanics. They are tired of voting to be kept in chains.

It has nothing to do with terminology. I’m trying to see what you’re talking about. Are you referring to trans issues? What exactly? I’m not sure how wages relate to a freak show?

Or fake electors appointed, or calls to state election officials trying to pressure them to change their state's vote count.

Do you miss the fake electors? Or is it recorded phone calls of trump trying to pressure state election officials to change the vote count? Miss seeing an insurrection at the capital? Ah, the good times?

Or magic mail in ballots at 2 am...LOL at you liberals saying it was an Insurrection on Jan 6... same old rhetoric by people who can't think for themselves.. The libs tried to do it again this year with the "broken" machines and the 30k that needed to recount. It was just too big to rig this time.. The right party won this time.. This is what happens when you call over half the country garbage, your only policy is "we're not trump" and you send billions out of the country to protect a border of another country yet do nothing to protect ours.. despite the complications and burdens it places on our country. If the best the democratic party could do is Harris/Walz, ya'll in deep trouble in the future. Funny same liberal talking points in this thread are the same garbage thats been talked about consistently and has been debunked over and over. But I get it TDS is real. The democrats are so out of touch with the people who actually vote, think they running these celebrities out make up for not talking about policy will work. Its proven time and time again, celebrities have no impact and are actually a detriment because they aren't affected by the policies that the rest of the country live under.
