My original thought after reading this (no idea if it's been expressed before) - Politics is like watching TV and channel surfing - you always want to see what's on the other channel. No party has it all correct - and no party can fix anything in 4 years.

Dawg, thanks for the kind thoughts. For us in Cape Coral Helene was pretty mild. It is heartbreaking to see what has happened up in North Carolina and other states. Devastation. Milton was pretty serious, 100 mph winds, but we did ok. I have had other situations going. Sometimes life just gets in the way.
I do want to respectfully disagree with one point you made. I don’t think calling Harris a commie or socialist is anything like calling someone a nazi or hitler. Fair enough on the personalities. I do think calling her a commie is a stretch and I think it's propaganda-fed to awaken Cold War fears in the older generations. I think Harris, like most Dems nowadays (Pelosi, Schumer, et al) demonstrate much more corporate friendly capitalist policies than someone say like FDR. I myself am also a free market capitalist, but with guardrails. I think any guardrails we have now have been destroyed with much of the corporate takeover, extensive mergers and acquisitions, and oligopolies.
I also don't think that the vast majority of people who voted for Harris would refer to Trump as "Hitler." My biggest point on that front is that Vance himself did so, and was one of the first primary figures to do it.

No, I don't know it. I don't hang on his every word, and I don't consume outrage porn daily. I've never said he was a nice guy, I've said exactly the opposite. What I don't buy for one minute is the assertion that he quotes Hitler at "ever political rally." Even places like MSNBC, which would be ecstatic about it, don't report anything even close to that idea.
What I have heard is that Trump wants people illegally in this country to be removed. That's not what Hitler wanted.
