The executive branch, who is in charge of Federal employees, does not change out those employees every time the admin changes. The clerk working the counter at SSA, for instance doesn't lose their job because the Executive went blue to red or vice versa.

Pretty sure this is a one-off thing. That said, you don't have to look far. The Portage County sheriff (among other things) basically tweeted out the same intent. It's not clear if he intended to follow up on his threats, but I know there has been quite the backlash. As far as I know, there hasn't been any actual consequences for his online temper tantrums.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I’ve briefed appointed officials before and they are always “sir” and “ma’am” regardless. That being said, I’m not as convinced the politics won’t bleed down to my level with a lot of the rhetoric Musk has been throwing out there.

The DOD is still going to need people to write and review contracts. The bright side is you don't work for the Dept. of Education.
