Yes, more nukes (or more people with nukes) increases the possibility/probability of their use. Any country (or individual/organization) launching a nuke would likely set off a chain of events that can't be come back from. Or do you think someone like Trump having access to nukes is a good thing?

Quit trying to think, Pit. Just let the Internet give you talking points and regurgitate those some more. Occasionally those are coherent.

We don't need to worry about Russia and nukes, nor any of the other legit countries. We all have something to lose if that happens. The threats are crap countries and terrorist groups that have nothing to lose by using them.

Cherry picking and fake narrative is posting a story saying "Trump said he had a great meeting and we all had a group hug and Kumbaya" - that's the sort of thing a spoon fed simpleton would post as fact to support an unsupportive position.

He's too much of a power-hungry opportunist to grow a spine in crucial moments. However, IIRC he finally admitted this will be his last term and he's in the process of handing down the reins. That's typically when you see some politicians - even McConnell - start to evoke a shred of truth.

Y’all still worried about Putin using nukes?

This man threatened Lithuania with a nuclear strike over a freaking railroad. And didn’t follow through.

In the current climate, anybody dropping the bomb instantly get ostracized by the community. And a nuke isn’t gonna solve any of his main problems, especially since his BIGGEST problem right now is a population collapse. A nuke is definitely NOT solving any of those problems for him. And now he has to worry about China gaining more influence over his country.

He’s gonna have to nuke China too. We all know none of those are gonna happen.

Nope. He overplayed his hand and continues to do so. It's a very powerful card to play, no doubt, but it has gotten to the point where they say it every other day to any country who so much as looks at Putin wrong.

I think it was Teddy Roosevelt who said speak softly and carry a big stick. Russia won't stop talking about the big stick they have while they're getting their eyes blackened.

More buffoonery...and I'm assuming more crickets in response:

WASHINGTON - Former President Donald Trump, long sympathetic toward Russia President Vladimir Putin, cast blame Thursday on Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for Russia's invasion of Ukraine that was authorized by Putin.

Criticizing Zelenskyy's requests for U.S. aid to Ukraine, Trump told a podcast released Thursday: "I feel very badly for those people - but he should have never let that war start ... that war is a loser."

Trump, as he often does, also blamed President Joe Biden for the war on Ukraine, saying the American president "instigated" the war by Putin and Russia.

Supporters of Ukraine have predicted that aid to Ukraine will end if Trump reclaims the presidency, although he has said he plans to forge a settlement between Russia and Ukrain

“This should have been settled before it started,” Trump said on the PBD Podcast posted Thursday.

Trump has blamed Zelenskyy for the Russian invasion launched in February of 2022 before, telling supporters in North Carolina earlier this month that "we continue to give billions of dollars to a man who refuses to make a deal.”

In the Thursday podcast, Trump again mocked Zelenskyy as “one of the greatest salesmen I’ve ever seen," citing his ability to get aid from the U.S. He then uttered the line: "And that doesn’t mean I don’t want to help him because I feel very badly for those people. But he should never have let that war start."

Trump and Zelenskyy met late last month.

Speaking with reporters, Zelenskyy - who has questioned whether Trump understands what Ukraine is up against - told the Republican's 2024 presidential nominee he hopes to "have more good relations" in the future. Trump responded that it "takes two to tango."

On Wednesday, the Biden administration announced a $425 million package for Ukraine. A government report says: "As of June 30, 2024, since February 2022 the U.S. Congress had appropriated more than $174.2 billion in supplemental funding for the U.S. response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine."

They just don't care. No matter what he does or what he says they'll support him. No amount of crimes, immoral behavior, lies or hate will detour them from supporting him. I never thought I would see this many Americans stoop to this level.

Sucking up to Putin while blaming one of our allies for Putin's invasion of Ukraine won't matter to them either.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. Many Republicans and former trump supporters now refuse to support him. People who worked in his previous administration have condemned him. As far as the died in the wool MAGA's I have written them off. So I'm not quite sure what you meant here?

How does a presidential candidate get away with saying it's Ukraine's fault that they were invaded and they should've made a deal... after they already tried placating Putin when he annexed Crimea?

It's mind-boggling the level of stupidity that's tolerated in the political arena.

How does a presidential candidate get away with saying it's Ukraine's fault that they were invaded

My guess: almost half of America voted for the guy they (& their friends/family) saw as The Boss on his weekly NBC 'reality' show. They enjoyed watching a heavily-edited construct... and projected that image upon what they saw descending the "golden" escalator in 2015.

A fat percentage of those voters are still with him. Some, because they still see him as that TV character, later standing behind the presidential podium, some because they can't allow themselves to vote for a POTUS candidate whose gang pocket-rag isn't red.

It's the same way he got away with everything else that has made it into the daily news cycle: he follows his base impulses, and follows no societal rules/norms, save those that he holds for himself.

He gets away with it because our society now allows it.

...and some Americans actually think he's right to behave as he does and say what he does.

Add it all up, and it shouldn't be all that surprising that the numbers look as they do.

Considering we have a bunch of posters here saying they aren’t voting for Trump but always come running to defend him while exercising their hate onto his critics it’s pretty easy to know who to write off here.

Donald Jr taunts Zelenskyy that he will “lose his allowance.” Lockstep with his dad talking about Zelenskyy being a “salesman.”

You know, the guy whose country was mercilessly invaded, ravaged and had numerous human rights violations committed against it, but hey, you all voted for this.

Regardless of what you think of donating resources to the war, this type of rhetoric is unconscionable and frankly despicable.

Own it, though.

They knew they were disgusting. They knew they were vile. That's what they voted for and that's what they get. Exactly what they asked for.

And in other news.......

North Korean troops clashed with Ukrainian forces in Russia's Kursk, NYT reports

Nov 6 (Reuters) - North Korean troops have engaged in clashes against Ukrainian forces that are fighting in the Russian Kursk region, the New York Times reported late on Tuesday, citing an unnamed senior U.S. official and an unnamed senior Ukrainian official.

The engagement was limited, the Ukrainian official told the newspaper and likely meant to probe the Ukrainian lines for weaknesses. The Ukrainian official added that the North Korean troops fought together with Russia's 810 Separate Naval Infantry Brigade.

10k troops have been sent to fight in the Ukrainian war from North Korea. Not a word uttered about it from trump. But then of course Kim did send him that "love letter". So there's that.

This makes it international. Won’t be surprised if the UN acts. Trump and Putin won’t be happy until we fight WW3. Well, Trump can’t seem to count to three, he was saying if Biden won we’d be fighting WW2… you can’t make it up folks. All those poor Ukrainians are going to die so y’all could own the libs… smfh.

Does anyone in the GOP actually like or respect Don Jr?

That's an honest question... this election has me questioning everything I think I know.

Unfortunately, I think the Ukraine conflict will be decided soon after DJT takes offense. Equipment and ammo shipments will abruptly stop, and Ukraine's position will continue to attrite as Russia continues to throw bodies at the conflict. Looks like NK is happy to oblige. Ukraine will have to negotiate a truce from a position of weakness, ceding more territory to Russia... until Russia gets hungry again and we get to do this all over again in a couple years once they've restocked.

Isn't appeasement fun?

While I can't speak for members or voters of the GOP I can make an observation. Jr. sounds exactly like his father. He walks lockstep in line by repeating what his father says. They elected his father president. It would seem logical to think that if they follow his father, they would follow him. Why would you respect his father as president and not feel the same way about his son who sounds exactly like him? I think it's so likely we could see another Bush family situation here. Only on steroids.

Sadly this is the most likely outcome based on what we've been hearing or it may simply be trump tells Zelinsky he will get no more support from the U.S. and if he doesn't agree to a deal now, all of Ukraine will be lost. Both your scenario and mine seem plausible.

But then that's been a part of the MAGA message all along. No more aid to Ukraine!

I think the only thing that could really save Ukraine beyond that point is Europe stepping up their aid significantly. I can't say that I have hopes that will happen either.

Now that trump has been elected I think all of the European nations would decide to invest every dime they have to build their own defenses and military for what they surely know is coming. The NATO alliance will most likely go into self preservation mode.

History has taught them what the consequences of appeasing invading forces leads to. They had their nations invaded and cities leveled to the ground as a result. Some others still haven't learned that valuable lesson from history.

That is such a load of BS. Such a load of BS. Good grief. Need I remind you of who tried a quid pro quo withholding Ukrainian aid in order to have the Bidens investigated?

The problem Zelenskyy has in case you haven’t been paying attention is there is a DESPOTIC MILITARY SUPERPOWER THAT HAS INVADED HIS COUNTRY. And he has the son of the US president elect basically trolling him for it. That’s his biggest problem. Get out of here with your nonsense. Unbelievable.

Trump said he can end the war in one day. Let’s see how that goes.

You wanted this. Own it, and stop trying to make it something that it isn’t.

Despicable.

Anyone that doesn't care today will suddenly care when Russia tries to push further into Europe and starts messing with NATO countries (which is easier to do now considering the newest additions).

The amount that we've given the Ukrainians will be a drop in the bucket compared to if/when Russia kicks things off with a closer-aligned country.

You’ve really been on a roll posting the most ridiculous crap imaginable.

It’s mind-numbingly bad inferences and logic. I’ve truly lost all respect.

This is a quote from that “libtard” Mike Johnson aka one of Trump’s most ardent supporters on the last Ukraine aid bill:

“My philosophy is do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may. If I operated out of fear over motion to vacate, I would never be able to do my job. Look, history judges us for what we do. This is a critical time right now,” Johnson said Wednesday.

“I can make a selfish decision and do something that is different, but I’m doing here what I believe to be the right thing. I think providing aid to Ukraine right now is critically important,” the speaker added.”

Derrrrrrpppp….

Sadly, this is how all the duped think… and they think we’re the ones who are delusional. I mean you really can’t make this crap up. It’s like Trump turned half of America into braindead RUSSIAN BOTS.
