They supposedly hate war, but just the one in Ukraine. MAGA has no problem with another middle eastern generational war now that Trump and his warhawks are back in power.

Trump put guys in power that actively think pulling out of Iraq was a bad decision. A war even Trump agreed was stupid. No anymore, I guess. All the clowns that wanted us to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan are in control.

Trump supporters just put a bunch of John Bolton’s and Dick Cheney’s back in charge.

Plus he put Tulsi Gabbard up for position, who spread misinformation about Ukrainians developing WMDs (sound familiar), such to the point that Romney - who I'm betting all MAGA people here voted for in 2012 - accused her of spreading "treasonous lies."

What you're really saying is you don't care about emboldening Putin. That's the same thing people were saying about Hitler before WW2 started. Some learn from history and some don't. You haven't.

Per CNN.com and a host of other articles, here is a conversation that took place between Austin and Shoigu…can we really envision the morning show host having this same conversation?

“Mr. Minister,” Austin said, according to Woodward, “I am the leader of the most powerful military in the history of the world. I don’t make threats.”

Two days later, the Russians requested another call. This time, the Russian defense minister dramatically claimed the Ukrainians were planning to use a “dirty bomb” — a false story the US believed the Kremlin was pushing as a pretext to deploy a nuclear weapon.


“We don’t believe you,” Austin said firmly in response, according to Woodward. “We don’t see any indications of this, and the world will see through this.”

“Don’t do it,” he said to Shoigu.

“I understand,” Shoigu replied.”

Meanwhile, this will probably seem like a reasonable idea to most on the left. Only posting this because I'll get a nice laugh from the excuses.

Let me put that in English:


We are going to attack a peaceful country. If they fight back, that will be an escalation of our "military operation." And, yes, we have lost half of our military, but if they fight back against us bombing their citizens, it will be an escalation that we'll deal with. Yes, we're running out of soldiers, and those dirty bastards are still fighting back and we see that as an escalation. Yes, we are getting arms from a third world country that can't feed it's people. Yes, we are now using soldiers from that third word country, and if they get killed, that is an escalation of the war. And if the 'enemy' is allowed to attack us, that is an escalation.

In other words, my only hope is the threat of nuclear bombs, which I have threatened so many times. But this time I mean it, and the NATO countries ought not doubt me this time.

Seems like the plan. I hope it isn't.

What excuses? This should have been allowed from the get-go. I think one of Biden’s biggest blunders is not doing this a long time ago. I think it was idiotic of him, actually.

It's a two way street. I don't think we would be very happy if the Russians, China, whoever started to stick missiles in Cuba.

That's truly the great differentiator, and I don't understand why that point doesn't sink in.

Is Russia arming them for the sake of arming them, or have we gone into Cuba, committed horrible human rights atrocities, and they are trying to defend themselves?

It's just like arch said. He's playing the nuke card because it's the only card he has left at this point. It's gotten to the point now where the guy wakes up in the morning, stubs his toe, and says he's going to nuke the west because it's their fault.

I understand wanting to maintain the status quo, but people need to remember that it was Russia who upset the status quo. We are responding to that upset. We cannot validate it. That's the biggest difference.

And, for anyone who is a dyed in the wool Republican, I'll just ask something that I have asked before, which hasn't been answered: Given this situation, what how do you think Reagan would have responded?

I'm quite sure how I feel about it. Kamala voters will say it was a vote for trump just like OCD did. A trump voter would say it was a vote for Kamala. For many it strictly depends on which candidate they support as to how they view it.

Or you can look at who won the state. My vote would not have changed MD. It was Harris' before the election started. She won by almost 900k votes.

I have no idea why in the world you would question that post. All I did was state how supporters of both major candidates would view voting in such a manner using the "logic", if that's what anyone wants to call it, that OCD used.

But to use your own logic, no matter who wins your state it doesn't change who you voted for.

I live in a red state that there isn't a chance in hell Kamala could have won. That has nothing to do with who I voted for. The fact my vote didn't or couldn't have changed the election results doesn't change who I voted for.

I don't really care who you voted for. I can't really say I blame anyone that wrote in someone. Our choices were horrible.

never in my life have i seen an American go out of their way to appease the Russians like Trump has. especially when our greatest enemy is is losing their grip on the middle east.
