It's interesting how far back in history you have to reach to find a comparison. While still avoiding the question like a plague. Have they elected you president of the crickets yet? If not it's obvious you are in the lead for the job by a wide margin.

I am more concerned about "President" Biden pledging a $billion to Angola to build a railroad that China needs to ship cobalt and other minerals from their mines back to China. China has to be laughing their ass off at us for that.
I am really worried about this bumbling, stumbling fool's last 60 days. He is pretty close to kick starting a world war. Wow, did you ever misrepresent the facts on this. WOW https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/...-s-investment-in-africa-at-angola-summit

Someone catch me up here,, How many convicted felons did trump pardon at the end of his first term as president?
How many is he saying he'll pardon in January..... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_granted_executive_clemency_by_Donald_TrumpTrump issues 237 total pardons, including one to Susan B Anthony. By way of comparison Obama issued 330 on his final day. Biden has issued over 6500 thus far, and Jan 19th is not here yet. That will be an interesting day. Now go ahead with the inevitable blargh Trump rant. OK,, Will do! How many of those pardoned by Obama were involved in any way with Obama? How many of those pardoned by Biden were involved with him in anyway (his kid is understood) How many of those pardoned by Trump were involved in anyway with Trump? My point being that many of those pardoned by Trump were for doing things on behalf of Trump. He owed them! Can you say that is true of either Biden or Obama?

Could have been. I actually just drove over some tumbleweed crossing the road recently in Utah. I'd argue about the destination take in that case, it's arguably the most beautiful state in our nation.
Not that it has anything to do with Daman's neverending bad takes and non-facts that he goes ghost on 100% of the time.

But was Utah your destination or just a state you drove through to reach your destination? I will agree there are a lot of beautiful areas across many states in America. For some reason I'm more a fan of the mountains in the fall. I have found the colors and beauty of places like the Pocono Mountains and Smokey Mountains my cup of tea.

The Smokeys are, and have always been, my "happy place", especially in the fall. Utah was the destination. We crossed the state, over eight days, and hit all of The Mighty Five National Parks.

How many blanket pardons have been given to anyone? Ever? How many blanket pardons covered a (coincidental) near ten year period
How many POTUS have pardoned a family member under scrutiny for using that same POTUS' influence to garner favor from foreign governments?
How do you spell coverup, again? Maybe Jiminy will know.

The article 100% CONFIRMS what 'Peen said and does nothing to refute it. You'll have to try harder.
Yet your response was: Wow, did you ever misrepresent the facts on this. WOW

It's just Jr. being Jr. This had nothing to do with those 1500 pardons or clemency's granted by Biden. Just the rights latest hit job and they sucked you right into it. This was actually part of a prisoner swap with China that happened two weeks ago..... Biden Rebuked for Granting Clemency to Man Caught With Child Porn Several social media users, most identifying as Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporters, have expressed discontent with President Joe Biden's decision to grant clemency to a Chinese national who pleaded guilty to possession of thousands of child pornography images in 2022. Although the social media users appear to be reacting to the news now, Washington and Beijing engaged in a prisoner swap two weeks ago in which the individual, Jin Shanlin, was exchanged. According to the Justice Department's executive grant of clemency, it was granted by Biden to Jin on November 22. At least three Americans who had been detained in China were released and sent back home. "We are pleased to announce the release of Mark Swidan, Kai Li, and John Leung from detention in the People's Republic of China," a National Security Council spokesperson told several news outlets in a statement in late November. Jin was a doctoral student at Southern Methodist University when he was arrested in 2021 and later sentenced to 97 months (or just over eight years) in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography before a U.S. magistrate judge in July 2022, according to court documents. His sentencing also required him to pay $30,500 in restitution and $100 in assessment. Jin has family connections to China's Communist Party, according to reports. Biden's clemency grant for Jin says he must leave and "remain outside the limits of the United States." Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene reshared a post on X (formerly Twitter) with information about Jin, along with a segment from a 60 Minutes interview Leslie Stahl did with her in April 2023. She captioned the post: "Democrats really are the party of pedophiles." In the video segment, Greene reiterated her claims, stating that Democrats "support grooming children" and "sexualizing children." She cited transgender surgeries as an example, arguing that "sexualizing children is what pedophiles do to children." Also on X, user @MJTruthUltra, who is followed by President-elect Donald Trump's account that reshares his Truth Social posts, called the clemency "just sick," echoing rhetoric similar to Greene's, writing, "The party of pedophiles protecting pedophiles." X user Alexandria Brown questioned the president's reasoning for granting Jin clemency, writing, "I find it difficult to comprehend what grounds there are for clemency." Unrelated to the China-U.S. swap, Biden commuted on Thursday the sentences of 1,499 people who were released from prison to home confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic, marking the largest single-day clemency action in the country's modern history. Biden also pardoned 39 people convicted of nonviolent crimes in an effort to promote second chances and to address problems with the nation's criminal justice system. Though Biden had long promised not to use his clemency power, which is outlined in Article II Section 2 of the Constitution, for his family members, he recently reversed course with his son Hunter, arguing that the prosecution was politically motivated. President-elect Donald Trump is set to take office in a little over a month, on January 20. He said he will immediately pardon people convicted of participating in the January 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol. https://www.newsweek.com/biden-rebuked-granting-clemency-man-caught-child-porn-2000149And the misinformation train rolls on.....

Try looking at some of the people that have been exchanges in prisoner swaps in the past. The list includes spies and criminals of all varieties. Does that make it right? No. Is it a common theme used by both parties? Yes. But you know as well as I do it was being claimed it was a part of those 1500 pardons which is nothing but a lie. But you are quite adept at playing the artful dodger.

Honest question, what did she do that was criminal?
IIRC, her and the one dude from Chicago got excommunicated for wanting to hold people accountable for an attempted coup. Was there something else that came out about the Jan6 committee?
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

GOP report recommends Liz Cheney be criminally investigated over Jan. 6 work Rebecca Beitsch Tue, December 17, 2024 at 4:29 PM EST4 min read Republicans released a report Tuesday reviewing the “failures and politicization” of the now-disbanded House Jan. 6 committee, capping their investigation by recommending a criminal investigation into former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.). The 128-page interim report forwards many of the claims circulated by the GOP since the committee was organized, complaining the Jan. 6 select committee was improperly constituted and unfairly pinned blame on President-elect Trump. “Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi’s multimillion-dollar Select Committee was a political weapon with a singular focus to deceive the public into blaming President Trump for the violence on January 6 and to tarnish the legacy of his first Presidency,” the report states. The report’s conclusion also calls for an FBI investigation into Cheney, accusing her of witness tampering by being in touch with star witness Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide. It’s a claim that if pursued would likely face significant roadblocks but that nonetheless comes as Trump has suggested members of the Jan. 6 panel should “go to jail” for their work. The suggestion and the panel’s report at large was excoriated by Cheney. “January 6th showed Donald Trump for who is really is – a cruel and vindictive man who allowed violent attacks to continue against our Capitol and law enforcement officers while he watched television and refused for hours to instruct his supporters to stand down and leave,” Cheney said in a statement noting the numerous Republican witnesses who testified before the panel. “Chairman [Barry] Loudermilk’s (R-Ga.) ‘Interim Report’ intentionally disregards the truth and the Select Committee’s tremendous weight of evidence, and instead fabricates lies and defamatory allegations in an attempt to cover up what Donald Trump did. Their allegations do not reflect a review of the actual evidence, and are a malicious and cowardly assault on the truth. No reputable lawyer, legislator or judge would take this seriously.” At the core of the report’s assertions are Cheney’s contacts with Hutchinson, who was previously represented by another lawyer before changing representation and ultimately agreeing to testify before the panel in a blockbuster hearing. Hutchinson’s initial lawyer, Stefan Passantino, was accused of encouraging her to say she remembered little about the day and said she would be able to get a good job in Trump World. The interim report shows texts between Hutchinson and Alyssa Farah Griffin, another former White House aide, and accuses Farah Griffin of acting as a backchannel between the two women. It later notes that Hutchinson reached out to Cheney, with the lawmaker in her own book noting she advised the aide to seek an attorney as “every witness deserves an attorney who will represent their interests exclusively.” Any such inquiry into Cheney would raise a litany of other legal questions. Cheney would likely assert that any actions she took through her work on the panel are protected by the Speech or Debate Clause, which protects lawmakers from court action related to their work. Witness tampering could also prove a difficult route in court, as such charges typically relate to encouraging a witness to lie or shift their story — allegations Hutchinson originally leveled at Passantino. While the report likewise suggests some aspects of Hutchinson’s testimony were inaccurate — including her relaying a story told to her by others claiming to have witnessed Trump lunge at his driver — it does not make any recommendations regarding her. “It is unusual—and potentially unethical—for a Member of Congress conducting an investigation to contact a witness if the Member knows that the individual is represented by legal counsel,” the interim report states. Loudermilk, chair of the subcommittee that assembled the report, was previously scrutinized by the disbanded House panel after he gave tours of the Capitol to two men who later participated in the march to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. He’s also accused the panel of deleting evidence it collected, a claim countered by members of the panel who say they retained everything they were legally required to, which has since been publicly posted on a government website. “The January 6th Committee’s hearings and report featured scores of Republican witnesses, including many of the most senior officials from Trump’s own White House, campaign and Administration,” Cheney said. “All of this testimony was painstakingly set out in thousands of pages of transcripts, made public along with a highly detailed and meticulously sourced 800 page report.” Loudermilk told The Hill last week that he is hopeful leadership will create a new select committee in the next Congress to evaluate Capitol security. https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-report-recommends-liz-cheney-212928997.html

Pretty sure witness tampering and procuring false testimony, with emails and text messages to prove it, are still crimes.
I'm sure there's an end-around excuse for all of it though.
Not that it matters. Joe Biden will turn into Oprah soon and hand out pardons to everyone, he just has to save the real shady ones for the very end. She'll be the first in line, they'll say the GOP is trying to "weaponize the justice system" against her. 🤣

Are we equating witness tampering to the witness reaching out to Cheney? Or are we equating it to what was said between the witness and a WH aide (who I assume was under Trump's WH)?
Republicans, particularly those whose names pop up on Jan6, have been desperately trying to submarine any attempts to put the spotlight on that day. Up to and including attacking those that (rightly) treat the day as a stain on our democracy.
You have a guy that gave tours to some of the people that later violently occupied the Capitol attacking one of the few people who refuses to put loyalty to that orange ego-maniac.
Jan6 is and will always be a stain on the history of our country, and MAGA is wearing it with pride.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

There's no spotlight on the day?
So, as long as you treat it like the stain that it is, you're exempt from any accountability. Seems about right. And it will be right -- she'll get a pardon, even though she's done nothing wrong. As weird as that sounds, that's exactly what we'll see.
Problem is, the percentage of Americans that believe this mindless b.s. continues to shrink to a miniscule minority. Your reputation precedes you -- you can't scream bloody murder about laws and accountability for years and then explain away case after case claiming it really doesn't apply.
It's cool though -- we'll take it. It's also a large part of what has the next 12 years cemented with a large (R). Nobody buys the hypocrisy and it's turned your party into a big mess of puppets that can't even get their narrative straight anymore. That's why half of them are chumming up to Trump, they at least know what actual leadership looks like whether they can stomach him or not. < And THAT is true with most of America right now. That's why he became de facto president on November 6th.

Want to know when I can tell you're not totally behind what you're saying? When you accuse me of being a democrat.
Fun fact: Cheney is a Republican with one of the more conservative voting histories. Her problem is now that she's not MAGA and dared to put country ahead of party.
If she gets a pardon, I'll be right there next to you with torch lit and pitchfork sharpened. Same thing if it comes out that there's anything to this latest accusation.
My overall point is that I find it extremely suspect that
1. People that could be held accountable for any role in Jan6 are even in a position to levy an accusation like this
2. Right after Trump says Cheney should be in jail for a prominent role in the Jan6 committee, voila... a lackey throws this out there
Maybe there is something to this, and I'm certainly listening, but for now I'm (more often than not) going to agree with the side that's going to go down as being on the right side of history.

There's no spotlight on the day? Not if Trump and MAGA had their way... which now they may.

Yeah, trump says she should be arrested and the lemmings circle the wagon. Same as it ever was. Nothing about it until trump gave them their marching orders. Timing is everything.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

“History is a jangle of accidents, blunders, surprises and absurdities, and so is our knowledge of it, but if we are to report it at all we must impose some order upon it.”
Henry Steele Commager, American historian (1902-1998)
