Breaking: QB Bailey Zappe is the #Browns No. 2 today behind Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and ahead of Jameis Winston, who was questionable with a sore shoulder, source tells clevelanddotcom.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Wouldn't it be fantastic if DTR had a great game today? We can only hope.

In one way yes. Possibly in another way not so much. Often times things like that turn out to be the problem. The FO sees just enough hope in a player they hang on to something that's fools gold and waste more precious time investing in a flawed product.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I agree. Although I am a fan of the timing. DTR can earn himself three chances to show what he's learned and how he's developed. Personally, I think it's fool's gold from the POV that he's likely a multi-year project. If DTR ever becomes a household name, it will be in 2028 (give or take) on another team. JMO

My hope is he plays well enough so that are no hard feelings when next year's camp starts with a QB competition.

I don't see anything that resembles an actual legitimate NFL starting QB on the Browns roster and that includes watson. I also don't see Winston as being a valid bridge QB until the Browns, if the current Browns find a franchise QB. So for me the Browns are at a juncture that no matter who they start it's all rather meaningless. I file it under the "no harm no foul" category. Be it DTR or Zappe at this point they're just using what they have on the roster in a futile attempt to fill a cavernous hole much akin to putting a band aid on a bullet wound.

With the way watson has played since he's been here there shouldn't be any "hard feelings" from him about a QB competition in camp next year. But there probably will be. Hopefully they'll sign someone between now and then that may play to the level of an actual NFL starting QB to compete against him.

This team is an embarrassment. Good news this will be over before half so we will be able to go do something else

Funny how this roster has been over rated for the past
Few years. Defense was so overhyped last year
Cause they played clown QBs and it made the defense look
Better than it was

I’d be 100 ok with trading Myles. He’s not a game changer . He’s a pass rush specialist. We don’t win any more or less with him. 99 yard td drive. No one on this team should be safe

Apparently they stopped judging Stefanski on team performance or results. That must be nice. I’ve never had a job like that before.

At this point, I think the Browns owe Bengals fans an apology. Those people paid for NFL football, - on both sides of the ball. The Browns have given them pathetic garbage offense that looks like a bunch jv players on their first day.

The Browns own the worst trade in sports history. Completely destroyed this team. It’ll take 4-5 years to fix. You’d think that the organization that was stupid enough to draft Johnny Manziel, and how that move destroyed that version of the Browns. You’d think that would have learned from it. But no, we give up the farm for a guy with the most character issues in nfl history.

Our core players deserve better. I don’t want to see Myles, Bitonio, and Denzel’s careers go by the way of Joe Thomas. - Never given the chance to play for a superbowl.

Trade them all for their own good.

I totally agree but all our players don’t give 100% on every play. That make a difference.

Would you give full 100% knowing you have no chance? We’re lucky we haven’t lost the locker-room completely after the DW debacle.

Probably not but it’s still frustrating.

Did any of you really want to win this meaningless game? Why hurt our draft order. Right now, we have a slot to pick in the top 5.

I see your point.

I don’t speak for everyone here. We’ve been through numerous seasons where we give up wins for draft position. Over 20 seasons in the last 25 years in fact.
We’re done and sick of it. Sick of wasting our money and time on this fandom that was bestowed onto us by our parents.
No more rooting for draft position. I want wins.

A real team would be playing to knock a hated division foe out of the playoffs. These lilies rollover. Yet ANOTHER sign that this coach has lost this team.

I hate the “for the coach” mentality. But we have somebodies next head coach on our team right now. And the job Stefanski has down this year is despicable. Am I right, 3rd? Lol

It’d sure be nice if DTR makes me eat my words…. This ain’t the same kid from the first half. Did he put on 10 pounds of muscle at the half? Smh, now I don’t know how to feel. I’d love to see him bring us back, but don’t want the win.

I’m really not sure about Stefanski.

I know that any team saddled with the albatross that is Watson would have a hard time but he has failed fantastically at literally every coaching variable this year.

Is it that this fan base is SO exhausted by coaching changes that the team will keep ANYONE in charge to avoid another change? This team is the mort poorly coached team in the NFL by any coaching standard.

It must be so nice to have a qb. The last time I felt like we did was with baker. That’s a whatever. But that is the last time.

That’ll be more of a whisper.

We all wanted this kid to work. It was literally our only way out of this monumental QB mess. It’s clearly not gonna work. He’s not an NFL qb - at least not here. He could very very easily go somewhere else and be great. He has the skills. But it’s not gonna work here. Not much will.

Hard to overstate how effed we are right now.

He cannot read Defenses in the least. Poor decision maker. He will always be a backup or 3rd string

Probably. But this team needs to find out, once and for all, whether this kid is worth keeping around.

I think we know. But the qb room is so effed right now that substandard qbs have opportunities that they wouldn’t on any other team. We simply don’t have very many options.

DTR is not an NFL qb. But that doesn’t mean he’s done here. Any other team in the nfl would cut bait. We can’t.

I think that fans turning their back on this team, for even just A GAME, would send a chilling message to ownership. If Browns fans were to boycott a home game FOR ONE GAME, we would show the team owners how easily the money could go away.

I know that this is not possible. It’s too ingrained in the fabric of this town. Even the suggestion (which I made last week) illicits “do what you want but I support my team” stuff suggesting that I don’t support my team.

It’s question of what we are willing to put up with. The ownership is betting that there is no limit to what we put up with. I happen to think they’re right. And THATS the ultimate problem.
