Browns will start their fourth QB of the season. A tradition.

So good news/bad news, the DTR experiment seems to be over. I mean... it's gotta be pretty damning that we are saying we want to see what we got in Bailey Zappe, right?

Sounds like they are still making noises about developing DTR but that might just be noise. I seem to recall he had an injury going into last week. I wonder if that plays a part.

He can't do worse than anything we've seen before, so he has that going for him.
Plus, there is ZERO chance we actually play spoiler, so the pressure couldn't be lower.
As it is, last week looked and felt like a preseason game; I expect this week to be akin to one of those joint practice games where everyone's main focus is just not getting hurt and not really caring who wins.

*shrugs* it wouldn't be a browns season without starting your 3rd or 4th QB for the last game of the season.

Good news. If we get good play from Zappe, I’ll be happy. I think he’s scrappy, as a QB, and I’ve run out of words that rhyme with Zappe.

I’ll say it again. It’s insane that we start every season with no viable QB and no viable backup. Just insane.

Oh damn, that was an obvious one! He might - and with our luck, he will - play crappy!

He's not an NFL QB .... but with our luck, he'll imitate one just well enough, for one lousy game, to cost us 5-8 spots in the draft.

No it isn't Oobs. Zappe is way better than DTR any day of the week. I think once the Browns decided to pack in in for real, they went with DTR because he was the worst QB in the room. We still had a few winnable games on the schedule. Zappe gets the nod tomorrow because even with him being better, winning tomorrow even with good QB play is next to zero chance.

IIRC, Zappe was cut BEFORE the one dude that did nothing (Mac Jones, had to look it up).

Zappe's ceiling is BEST CASE backup-level.

Oh Joy....looking forward to watching the announcers take every opportunity to scroll through all our QB starters since 1999.

I have more confidence in Zappe running an offense than DTR at this point. We'll still lose, most likely, but I think we'll see more from him.

Just remember that the same people who punted Baker and stroked Watson also thought that going in to LAST year, it made sense to have ONE backup QB...the one and only DTR.

5 Different QB’s started our games last year and 4 this season. At least we’re consistent with that!

I hope I never have to watch DTR take another snap for the Browns.

Whether we do or not will tell us a lot about whether this staff is smart or stubborn. If DTR is still on the roster, as we have seen thus far, circumstances at some point may demand he start a game or some games.

The question then becomes are the people who drafted him so stubborn they keep him on the roster? Something I think the vast majority of people can see he shouldn't be.

I don't mind the thought of him coming in on garabge time kneel downs to close out another blow out win by us.

I mean, we beat Baltimore once with Winston. Zappe can beat Baltimore. Most likely won't, but he can.

I am hopeful for wins by New England vs Buffalo and Tennessee vs Texans.

They should be resting starters.

Or worse, before Zappy is gone.
