Where shall I start? I'll start small. 10 or 12 years ago I looked into a small turbine that would, realistically, drop my electric bill to 0. I was told, by the company selling this particular 1 that would meet my needs, it would be $50,000.00. Payable in full prior to being functional. However, I would get $25,000 in tax credits/rebates once it was paid for. (over time, that is). Ok. $25,000 for me to not have an electric bill each month. Ok, so, at an average of $150 a month in electric bill..............it would pay for itself in just under 14 years.

But wait, there's more. I was told every 3-5 years, the turbine would need "maintenance" at a cost of $5-7000 dollars each time. That made it literally a money hole.

Let's go bigger. 400 yards from my house is a big turbine - the kind you see on wind farms. Private company put it in. About 13 years ago. The owner of the business was hopeful it would pay for itself in 5-7 years. I know the guy. He's my neighbor. 13 years down the road, and it still hasn't paid for itself, especially with all the breakdowns, and being unable to work about 3 months out of every year.

2 local schools (actually, 3, but I don't know any info about the 3rd one) got turbines installed. Let's just say, even with a hugely reduced installation price (courtesy of the gov't., which means courtesy of the tax payers), and with all the breakdowns, neither of the 2 have even come close to half of the supposed "savings", in fact, it's been a financial burden on the districts. Our local school had a website, since shut down, that you could see how much energy the turbine was producing. Not much, in relation to the schools usage.

Drive past ANY big wind farm. Shoot, on my way to Bowling Green Ohio, in Paulding County Ohio, and my way up 127 to Northern Michigan, on my way to Indian Lake Ohio..............I drive past HUGE windfarms. You're lucky if even half of them are operational.

Great in theory, but not in reality at this time, and probably not for decades or longer.

However, they DO increase our cost of living. Between taxes to pay for them and increased cost of electricity.............

No arch, what you do is post things that happen in "your neck of the woods" and try to paint it as the big picture. It's what you always do. Your little slice of America is not the be all end all. It is not representative of the entire country.

You see, America uses a lot of wind power. So much so if you don't know how much it may astound you. As of now wind power supplies energy for approximately 46 million American homes. It's the fourth largest source of energy in the nation. The largest producers of wind energy for the most part are red states.

Texas alone produces over 26% of America's wind energy followed by Iowa which produces over 11%. In 2023 approximately 60% of the electric consumed in the state of Iowa came from wind energy. By 2019 more energy was being generated by wind energy in than coal fired power plants.

Now according to you, you can Drive past ANY big wind farm and you're lucky if even half of them are operational.

States like Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma and Kansas which are the top wind energy producing states in America, who depend on that wind energy to supply so many homes in their state with that wind power would disagree. If that happened they would be suffering a severe energy shortage.

Try to think big picture arch. That microscope you keep on insisting that you look through is a very narrow view of things.

It was in response to my post and it's extremely rare that you ever agree with anything I post. Thanks for the reply.

If you'd post more correctly I'd agree more.

It was simply extra information and source.

Once again thanks for the added information. But of course you couldn't manage to do it without the cheap shot. Typical.

Pretending that wasn't a cheap shot is exactly what I would expect from you. Denial seems to be your strongest attribute. I don't really care because I consider the source but it is what it is whether you lie about it or not.

Pretending you weren't looking for an issue is exactly what I would expect from you. Denial seems to be... get it? Funny how you never see it in yourself or own any of it.

No. It's funny how you are like two months behind in trying to be snarky.

But I say no because you continue to act like a child and it is just easier that actually trying to explain things to you.

I must not be "Trumpian" as I don't care for YMCA. But I still don't know why it is perfect for "Trumpians".

It's not hard to find out if you really want to know. It seems as though by your question concerning the song you care more about it than you let on.

If you call some of the lame things that post as being snarky you really don't have any room to be talking to others about it.

You have no interest in trying to hold any conversation or debate and your pat answer of "no" is the same way a child avoids such things. You act like a child and then point the finger at others for it.

I actually made a post with the story and the link on this board. It was deleted so I won't repost it. Let Google be your friend at this point. I'm not going to risk being banned by reposting something the refs deemed inappropriate.

WOW, those libtard dems sure got it right on Trump being a criminal, huh. Even his handpicked SCOTUS said no to letting the mango Mussolini get out of sentencing.

The vote to delay sentencing was 5-4. He appointed three justices. After checking two out of three SCOTUS justices he appointed voted to postpone the sentencing.

Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch. Only one of his appointees voted not to postpone the sentencing. Amy Coney Barrett.

Google's not my friend as there are a plethora of responses, mostly centering around it being a popular song that most people can relate to and even a novice can dance to.

Must be something else? Does it have anything to do with "gay"?

It never ceases to amaze me as to what you think "about right" is.

If you have an issue about it being inappropriate you can take that up with the refs.

It also discussed another band mate saying the song was about the gay community from the very beginning.

I just found the irony in all of this hilarious.

Ahh. So you again use the idea of gay as a slur. Typical garage from you. Of course you will again hit it obliquely because you have no real stomach to actually stand on your convictions.

English seems to be an issue for you today. It's ironic that the very party that is passing legislation in several states that stand against LGBTQ rights plays that song at almost every trump rally and sings along to it. What did you think "I just found the irony in all of this hilarious." meant?

Dear God you've become desperate today.

You typed too many words.

Obviously I was not responding to you as you were not even participating in the conversation. Besides the fact that Pit had responded with "you never cease to amaze me" right above that response. I suspect you know that and just wanted to spout off.

Well maybe your problem is that you don’t understand the tech… it’s called ‘Reply’ and if you click it, you can respond to the person you want to bore and not me. Well, looky there, I did have a clue for you after all.

Here's the thing, oh genius of any topic: Your stats all start or end with: Texas produces 26% of americas WIND energy, Iowa produces 11% of WIND energy, etc.

I'm not talking about wind energy. If you want to rely on that, go ahead.

And this little bit: "by 2019 more energy was being generated by wind energy than coal fired plants". Wow, what an insight. When coal plants are being shuttered left and right, of course the production goes down. Duh.

There is NO state that relies on wind energy. None, because it's unreliable. Period. They may use it when they have it, but they still have other energy producing plants.

Here's a nice little article you may enjoy: https://usafacts.org/articles/how-much-us-electricity-comes-from-wind-power/

Wind energy produced, in 2021, a whopping 9.2% of the power in the U.S. That's not a microscope, that's a hard fact. And, at what cost?

I"m sure it's a little higher now, but again, at what cost?

Am I anti wind power? Not at all, but to act like it's the core of energy is.............well, dumb.

I do understand it. Most people don't poop their pants when there is an obvious back in forth persisting between two or three posters and somebody doesn't hit "reply". Go change your diaper and fire up that bong before your serotonin crashes completely.
