Seems to me we had at least one person with "inside info" talk about how far along Wilson is coming, and how well he's doing at practice.

After all this time, still never activated for a game? I agree, move on. The best WR to come out of college that year is a bust.

If we do sign one.. it will be a player of Tim Carter's caliber.. I think most FA acquistions come in and are expected to make a difference. Ex. Jamal Lewis and the running game. Antwan Peek and the pass rush. Eric Steinbach to help the offensive line.

Having Braylon Edwards AND Kellen Winslow Jr. makes it a little hard to pull a big name, because big names want the ball. Well here, they are not getting it. lol. We just got Braylon to be humble, so adding a big name WR would only reverse that IMO.

I say we just draft a tall possession WR with great hands. A replica of Joe J. or you know what.. I've been pimping Jordy Nelson of Kansas St. He is a good wideout for a rather cheap price. I'm guessing a 4th rounder, maybe 3rd.

Drafting someone in Joe's mold to take over for him is a nice move, a person to be the slot guy - which is where Joe would be in a perfect world. We need a #2 guy, someone who can stretch the field, which helps BE and KW.

No way we go after a #1 type WR. They wouldn't be happy here, playing 3rd fiddle to BE and KW.

How often does an inactive player- due to being a poor practice player- see the light and becomes a productive gamer???? Not often-cut your losses.

I highly doubt that we see Travis with the team next season. Unless he breaks out, but it doesn't sound like he will. He need to bring in a guy, probably through FA.

Seriously... imagine this:

Braylon Edwards
Bernard Berrian
Joe Jurevicious
Jordy Nelson
Joshua Cribbs

Can't get much better than that.

well sure...they are the only team where he could ask the team throw him the ball on EVERY single play and the coaches would at least have to consider it.

I think it is funny how last year he was talking about Carson being the best QB in the league and about them developing the chemistry that Peyton and Marvin have. Now this year, the Bengals looked more like the old Bungles and "Ocho Cinco" wants out of town!

I honestly hope the Bengals keep Chad. As long as #85 is on the team, their locker room will always be divided.

Chad & Ginn... and then the Phins give us the #1 overall for DA... we'd be happy, the Bengals would lose their primary threat and the Phins offense would be revitalized with a RB at #32... I don't see any downside here at all

Browns is the Browns

The Phins have that Ronnie Brown character at RB who seemed pretty good. And it's not like Chatman was horrible as a backup replacing him either.

Just saying they have other gaping holes they will most likely try to fill other than RB at #32.

(and them giving us their #1 for the DA is great in theory, but it ain't happening)

Ah yes, just the kind of 'character guy' Parcells would be looking for. Of course, with their current wr situation, who knows.

Don't forget that Parcells coached Chad's cousin Keyshawn all those years. Also this is kinda like Joe J coming to the Browns. Chad's from south Florida and he's just trying to go home, its not like he's asking to be traded to a contender.

1) Chad and Keyshawn are not really cousins.. It was something like a marketing tool that they agreed too.

2) Bill Parcels is not the coach, but if Chad see how Parcels used TO, he would stay away from Miami.

yes, but he and Keyshawn are still close enough to call each other cousins so i will refer to them as such. Also, Keyshawn has always been a bigger distraction than chad (remember this is the guy who wrote a book titled "Just give me the damn ball". And yes, Parcells isnt the coach but a few posters alluded to chad and parcells not getting along. In the past few seasons that Parcells coached I saw him as a guy who loved the media attention that TO was brining him every week. He knew his days as a coach were done and that being on sportscenter every night would set him up nicely for life after football. Did anyone else see it that way?

Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown have already gone on record saying Chad is not going anywhere. The Bengals would take too much of a cap hit if they traded Chad Johnson.....and Mike Brown is not about to endure that.

Say Playa, glad to see you back. Really.

All four teams are tied in the AFC North at 0-0 so the slate is clean.

In response to your post, I'd bet you're right about Mike Brown not being willing to take a cap hit like that. I haven't looked to see just how much it is but if you're right it's significant and MB isn't known for throwing money around.

Besides, the Bengals need Chad. He's one of the better WR's in the league. If he'd back-off on the funny stuff and focus all his attention on his play instead of thinking up ways to make people laugh and get his name in the news he could really make a statement.

The duo of Palmer and Chad is a winning combo for the Bengals though it appears, from the outside, that the two don't get along very well. I don't know about that. I think Palmer just wishes he'd focus on football instead of his own PR.

It would have to be a money issue, because TJ and Henry(when he isn't suspended) are 2 very good receivers, capable of carrying the load.

just clickin'

I believe that Chad was once an elite reciever. But I'm I the only one that thinks he hasn't been the same since Russell knocked him into next week?
Now I don't watch Bengals games regularly unless there on at night, but it just seems he's been traffic shy ever since.

The biggest problem for this trade, aside from the org' saying it aint happening, is that Bill has stated he wants to collect picks, not give them away. So unless it were a player for player yada yada yada. you grasp my thought. But I guess anything could happen.

I can't believe it.....where are all of the guys on here who just fawned over Chad and told me I just didn't understand that everything he did was just all in good fun. He wasn't a distraction or a cancer. They would love to have him on our team.

I see the Bengal troll is back on the board after his bad season hiatus.

In case you haven't noticed, there really are TWO Chad Johnsons...When the Bengals are winning as they were a few years ago, he was a fun lovin guy who did stupid and funny things....

Then as the Bengals were losing, those funny things weren't really so funny anymore.. Then he started with the "I am great" attitude and that's a cancer to the team...

From a pure skill standpoint, who wouldn't want Chad Johnson on thier team. For that matter, if you just look at skill, hell, I'd take TO

But if you want to build a team that just works and keeps thier mouths shut, Those are two guys that you don't walk away from ,,,,, YOU RUN away from them..

That's your opinion. Jules had repeatedly told us about this stuff before they were losing. She lives near Cincy and hears about much more then we do. I was one of the people she is talking about. I however came clean a while ago.

J/C

I was just ccurious as to anybody else heard Chad Johnson's interview on the Jim Rome show today. Very telling. He would not come out and say it, but it is very clear after listening ot him today that he does not want to be apart of that team. Rome kept asking him if the bridge between he and the bengals was blown up or if it was just broken and could be repaired, and CJ was mute to the question, simply saying that he would let his agent take care of it...Then at the end of the interview JR was giving him a hard time about dodging the question and CJ said that he did not have to answer that question....He said that Jim already knows the answer. Anyhow...It's hard for me to recreate an interview, but after listening it is clear that CJ will not be a Bengal next year. Anybody else here the interview?

If it gets bad enough were they will let him go cheap (Moss) I would definatly get him in over here. He is different that TO to me...He has never (to my knowledge) thrown his teamates under the bus......To me he is just a donkey (you know what a donkey is) that is harmless. He does play hard, and is productive....and I like that he talks and backs it up....and then gives credit (Bodden a few years ago) and he does not whine about stuff (when russell hit him a couple of years ago). If he were here though I could do without kicking off from the 15 Ydline after all his TD's. Give em' Travis WIlson and a 3rd. if it gets bad enough over there maybe they take it.
