The difference here was one of the things people talked about regarding pro-anti Trump perspectives. Supporters take him seriously not literally - but those against take him literally but not seriously. That's one angle. I'd like to move past that. I don't want to talk about rhetoric or things that Trump claims he might do - maybe with the exception of Greenland becuase he has had a serious conversation about that with Denmark - I'd like to focus on the things that have happened in the first month. . . and I'd like to ask if anyone who is a Trump supporter has any issues with any of these things. Are the alrm bells ringing? Are the eyebrows raised? Or is this business as intended and you are 100% behind each and every item on the list.
By all means add to the list, I won't catch everything.
AND - yes this list is all negative. Maybe as a Trump supporter the ends justify the means and because of other positives you choose to accept the things here - if so I would still be interested in how big, small or irrelevant you think these actions are:
1. 25% tarrifs on Canada and Mexico. Our closest trading parterns. They have in turn responded the same. 10% on China. Who is going to pay the tarrifs? What impact on inflation is it going to have? Good for US manufacturing and business? Is there anyone truly stupid enough to believe this first step in a trade war is a good thing?
2. FBI Purge. Retribution for those that had the audacity to do their jobs and investigate Trump. How far down the road do people want to construct the government and all it's agencies into puppets for a the POTUS?
3. FAA. There have been numerous measures to curtail and limit the FAA. Are they all good moves? We had a national disaser - the worst in 47 years? - while they were still recovering bodies out of the water, Trump went on an incoherent rant blaming Biden and DEI. Zero facts, zero credibility. Is that a problem or just acceptable?
4. The WH made oficial announcements indicating it was blocking $50m of aid to Gaza that was specifically for the supply of condoms. It's been factually proven 100% false and yet no walk back. Are we all good with offical WH statements being 100% fabrication and no-one ever acknowledging the lie?
5. ICE. Emboldened and enabled by Trump ICE has been rounding up US citizens wihtout cause - ther than based on skin color. Is that the USA you wanted?
6. Greenland. Are you looking for Trump to build a new USA empire? Broadening the frontier, acquiring terriroty. A 45 minute conversation with Denmark that was largely reported in Europe as Trump attempting to strong arm a NATO ally. We good with that? Can anyone think of any other world leaders trying to land grab and take over territories? We good emulating that?
It's month 1. I won't even get into some of the appointees and executive orders ... but we can if you want.

No doubt a negative slant....your point #5 is why I will limit my comment.
It's evident you don't understand what being a citizen of a country means. It's also race baiting gibberish when you start talking about the color of skin.
You and the usual gang can carry on.

Probably not stated as well as it could have been, but those ICE raids detain US citizens as well, whip have to prove US citizenship to be released. I hope you carry your papers.
I guess when real life happens you can avoid the issue and call it race bating. It is certainly easier for you to do that and then to actually address the issue. Maybe you want to defend the se detentions and say it's inevitable because we've got so many illegals? Maybe you think the numbers are so small that it doesn't matter? I guess we won't know because you choose to avoid and deflect.

I’ll add the J6 pardons to that list. It has been a blitzkrieg of EOs and laws with an accomplice who is not an elected official. That should scare anyone.
The issue is what you just said. Our brains are wired to see anything that goes against our core beliefs to be a threat. Despite the objective lunacy of what has gone on, the loyalty remains unfettered.
As a result, you see duped people reiterate false assertions, deflection, dismissals and avoidance. Or, there is an attack on the posters themselves.
Not one critique from Trump voters to the slew of things that have already happened.
Not one.

Ok....a brief rundown 1. The tariffs won't hurt us all that much for long. We export far fewer goods to those countries than they export to us. The situation won't last long.
2. FBI purge...well, it's about time.
3. FAA...too soon to make heads or tails. I do know we are way understaffed in the towers. I do know many qualified applicants were turned away because they didn't meet DEI guidelines.
4. ICE...I already addressed that. What is it about illegal entry in to this country that you people don't understand? As to a comment by Woofer about carrying papers....give me a break. A valid ID and a actual SS# would go a long way towards proving that. I have all the documents i need to prove citizenship. There is a reason why they are called undocumented.

You pointed out an inconvenient truth about American citizens getting caught in in ICE raids. In Trumplandia that's called race baiting. There's no length they won't go to in order to avoid the truth. Trump has taught them well.
When you give an agency the power to conduct warrantless searches, having no requirement to show probable cause, this will be the results. That's why law enforcement is required to get warrants from a judge in the first place. But ICE has been given powers that place them above the normal law of the land.
Of course it's your fault for pointing that out and as such you're picking on all the white people.

You just supported trump take out revenge on anyone and everyone who was in any way associated in the investigations involving him. All the way down to FBI agents assigned to do so by their superiors. This is who you are. Candada, Mexico and China are our three largest trading partners and you pretend it won't hurt us much or last long?
40% of all our vegetables and almost 60% of all our fruit are imported from Mexico. 30% of our lumber is imported from Canada which is about 80% of all the lumber we import. Ontario powered 1.5 million homes in the U.S. in 2023 and is a major exporter of electricity to Michigan, Minnesota and New York. That's just the tip of the iceberg. A company whose job advertisement sought only white, US-born applicants has agreed to pay a $38,500 (£30,000) fine, the federal government has announced.
The advert from Arthur Grand Technologies was "generated by a disgruntled recruiter in India and was intended to embarrass the company", the justice department said.
It was found to violate both federal civil rights and labour laws.
Arthur Grand will pay $7,500 in civil penalties to the US treasury as well as $31,000 in total compensation to people who filed complaints over the incident.
The Virginia-based IT services firm has served federal and commercial clients since 2012, according to its website.
In March 2023, a recruiter working for its subsidiary in India posted an advert for a Salesforce business analyst and insurance claims vacancy on the Indeed job-hunting website.
In bolded text, the long-term contract role includes a note: "Only Born US Citizens [White] who are local within 60 miles from Dallas, TX [Don’t share with candidates]".
The position lists clients as including HTC Global in Michigan and Berkshire Hathaway in Nebraska.
US Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke called the job posting "shameful" in a statement on Thursday.
“I share the public’s outrage at Arthur Grand’s appalling and discriminatory ban on job candidates based on citizenship status, national origin, colour and race," she wrote.
“Companies like Arthur Grand, that accept federal contracts cannot have a ‘whites only’ hiring process,” Michele Hodge, the US labour department's acting director of federal contract compliance, added in her own statement.
As part of its settlement agreement with the two federal agencies, Arthur Grand is also required to train its employees on the US Immigration and Nationality Act, which bars hiring or firing people based on their citizenship status and national origin. It must also revise its employment policies and undergo justice department monitoring.
In a statement to CNN, the company's CEO said it "vehemently denies any guilt or wrongdoing".
“This unauthorized posting was made by an upset employee on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) from their personal email address and account," Sheik Rahmathullah said.
"Upon discovering this, we took immediate and decisive action to ensure that this type of incident will never happen again, including the immediate termination of the responsible employee.”

Now to be fair to Peen, he answered the questions that were asked. That merits discussion.
Peen, to respond…nobody yet knows about the tariffs and how long they will be around. But I think you actually proved the damaging part about the tariffs. We do import far more from those countries than we export. We have a consumer economy and the price of those goods we import just went up substantially. As far as I can tell, we don’t have any domestic replacement and definitely not a cheaper one.
On the FBI, when you say it’s about time, do you mean it’s about time that we exact revenge on those people who investigated J6? Because that’s where this is going. I also haven’t heard your thoughts on the pardons themselves.
I’ll leave the other ones for now.

A: That's not what Donald Trump said. He said it would hurt for a while. Inflation was coming down.. slowly for sure, but coming down. He and MAGA made it sound like it would be forever.. Now this in ONLY GOING TO HURT FOR A WHILE?
2. FBI purge...well, it's about time.
A: BS... If you notice, Trump put the last director in place. And the only people he's getting rid of are those that were assigned something that would end up investigating Trump or one of his IDIOT minions!
3. FAA...too soon to make heads or tails. I do know we are way understaffed in the towers. I do know many qualified applicants were turned away because they didn't meet DEI guidelines.
A: First and foremost, I wanna see proof that we turned qualified candidates away because they didn't meet DEI guidelines.. It shoud include dates and times of the turn down and the facts about each candidate. I promise you, that info IS available in the HR Files. You'll have a hard time providing that proof but please try,. It's not just the Tower staffing. It's leadership... Trumps/Musk actions have left the agency rudderless. Just like Project 2025 demanded, there will be no government watchdogs that don't have their lips attached to Trump ass. How would you feel if Bidens team only hired those that pledge to support Him and nobody else? Can you imagine the chaos that would cause. You'd be as pissed at that as we are about Trump/Musk actions.
Ask yourself this question, which is worse, a person that blindly follow a lawless leader or a DEI hire? Which one hurts the country more?
A: We do have illegal immigrants here. We certainly do. Did you never notice where they pick these people up mostly? They catch them at their place of Employment.. They are working and paying taxes. You are going to freak out!
There are quite a few articles on this so you don't have to pick just one.
Trump likes to create or embellish a problem that he sees so that he can exploit it for his own benefit.
Take DEI for example. Until that Schmuck brought up DEI regarding Kamala Harris, I didn't even know it existed. And I was in HR for the last 45 years.
And let's not get into how many citizens (born or otherwise) got caught up in the ICE nets. What the hell ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Come on man, Explain that.
I should point out that coming in illegally is the only way some can get here in an effort to find a better life. Trump has closed the door to LEGAL immigration. He did that in his last term and he's doing it again.
Most immigrants come here, find work, pay taxes... Some commit crimes.. But the guy that lives down the street from me is in Prison and he was BORN here.
5. Greenland...ok, a bit of a stretch on that one. I'll give you that, but now that it has been mentioned, it's a pretty good idea. I'd continue to explore that possibility.
So there you have it...don't expect my further participation in this thread...plus, I am not a part of your club and don't really want my opinions anyway.
A: A little bit of a stretch? Come on man. If ANY Russian leader from Putin back, tried to take over another country, we've been against it... ALWAYS.,
This is HITLER thinking.. It's PUTIN thinking.,.,, We want it, they have it, we'll take it.. Threats and Bullying. It's incredible that you can't see that.
Then you add in Trumps insults.. Gulf of America? Hows that gonna help us. That's an ego trip for Trump...
Greenland, for what? Minerals? we can buy the minerals from them.. we can increase our Military force there. We don't need to own it. Greenland has already said they'd do that.
Annexing Canada as our 51 State? Are you kidding me? Canada has been nothing but loyal to us and this jackass comes along and ruffles feathers... I mean it's just insane..
JUST A LITTLE STRETCH MY ASS!
I suppose you think it's perfectly OK to attack the capital in an effort to overthrow the election? Then pardon the offenders who later go on to threaten AMERICANS...If I'm not mistaken, it's the presidents job to PROTECT Americans. Yet this idiot release those very people that want to harm us all.
Maybe you shouldn't be the one that talks about what it means to be a citizen of this country..
If you don't have the courage to stand and debate, that demonstrates an inability to explain your thinking... It's rather weak!

The only thing I’ll say is that I’m happy this is going to hit MAGA voters too. Elon tampering in all high security government computer systems IS A NATIONAL threat. And I’m pretty sure we are well beyond the definition of a constitutional crisis. Only hope we have, if we’re being honest, is the courts. They’ll purge judges soon enough.
He was quite tweeting something from Michael Flynn earlier regarding payments made. He said something along the lines of DOGE was already cutting off certain payments.
Again, I want to reiterate that. A non-elected entity, led by a person who had made a fortune off Government contracts, is cutting off Government payments.

I think going in they planned a sort of shock and awe, flood the zone, attack on our governemnt knowing the law and congress can’t act fast enough to stop a corrupt POTUS. I think he’s already committed a dozen impeachable offenses. And they know they lied to voters and 26 will be a blood bath for them if we still hold elections. Honestly hope somebody or something removes them from the board, permanently.

110% As long as he does the job and we see results.
One week in and you and yours are repeating the same rhetoric you have been since he joined Trump. Fairy tales about how he's only in it for himself and Trump is his _____. We're already seeing results. You ignore them and put forth a constant stream of sob stories and dumb predictions about how it will all fail and Elon will laugh all the way to the bank.
You're a rational person...you're really okay with the constant stream of baseless rhetoric?
It's no sob story. I'm being real with you here. I am living the fallout right now with all the ish going on with federal employees and the rhetoric we have been exposed to. My personnel file, in addition to millions of others, was controlled tightly by people at OPM. Musk's team has locked them out of the system and has assumed full control.
I don't think Trump is his ***** as you inferred, but I do think the two of them are extremely self-centered and look to further their own interests above all else. I didn't even realize that was up for debate. I do think there will eventually be a clash between the two.
I also think it's important to avoid watershed moments, like a person who is an unelected campaign contributor, with a prima facie conflict of interest into Government payments, getting as much unfettered access to things like the payment system, OPM, and shutting down USAID. Hell, security chiefs were put on leave at USAID after trying to prevent Elon's team from accessing classified info. I would do the same damn thing if he tried to access something that he is not read into in my sector. It's what I'm sworn to do. I don't care who that person is or what they are trying to do.
What has been apparent so far with the slew of executive orders and the quick action, which follows Musk's MO particularly, is that they are following Bannon's strategy of flooding the zone. It's clear that Trump is trying to test and/or break his Constitutional limits and he's not waiting for the Courts or Congress to do so. When the courts have had the chance to respond, they struck down his actions, like the payment withholds that were, in effect, impoundment.
As far as baseless rhetoric, I am not sure what exactly you're talking about, as I have been fighting against baseless rhetoric directed toward me, in my role, personally. I have a friend on base who is effed. He got hired to work remotely for Space Force out of LA. He either will have to relocate within 4 months or he'll be out of a job. Oh, and we're on a hiring freeze, so he won't be able to jump back to our Dept. Our kids go to school together. I feel terrible for him.
Also, what results are you talking about? The J6 pardons? The FBI purges? An unelected official shutting out people from our own systems so that he can take control of payroll and personnel?
I get that you are frustrated with where the Government has been. But taking this kind of sledgehammer to things is dumb. He tried to do the same to Twitter and it failed miserably. You have shared the same concerns about Musk that I have. I think there's a side to you that is worried about this as well, even if you won't acknowledge it.
Blue ostriches on crack float on milkshakes between the sidewalk titans of gurglefitz. --YTown
Come on man. You're dealing with a guy who refuses to even admit that Musk bought his way into this job. As if guys like Musk and trump don't work on a quid pro quo basis. As if Musk just donated over 250 million dollars to the trump campaign based purely on his convictions expecting nothing in return. We all know that's nothing but a farce.

First, I don’t give a flying flip what rate illegals commit crimes compared to American citizens. Because every crime committed by an illegal alien is a crime that should not have happened, they should not have been here, they had no right to be here. They were admitted to the country by an administration that had no desire to have a controlled border and were willing to allow criminals like these into our country to harm Americans. For you lefties the important people in this situation are the illegals. Not the Americans. Lakin Riley should be alive today but we welcomed her murderer into our country. Shame on us!!
Second, the FAA. We know there is a significant shortage of controllers. Best I can tell starting pay appears to be in the neighborhood of $100k, though that might vary with your location. Controller training is done in Oklahoma at FAA training site. One of the Okie senators was told by FAA workers there that on average classes are filled to 75% capacity. Well since we are so short let’s find additional students to fill out each class. But wait, they have a waiting list of applicants who want to get the training so why not fill the empty spots from there. Sadly the people on the list don’t check the right boxes for ethnicity, color or gender so the spots remain vacant. The lefty dei whackos would rather have understaffed towers than have too many white males working. Or shoot maybe the vacant spots are calling for white males and the list is full of black and Hispanic applicants. Doesn’t matter. Race ethnicity and gender should play no role in who gets in . Just their qualifications.
Third.”What the hell happened to innocent until proven guilty “. Come on man, don’t make a fool out of yourself. That is a principle for a court of law, not for having someone show who they are and do they belong here. Every cop who makes a stop requires you to show ID. Now in a smarter world this would be easy. They show their driver license they are a citizen. But idiot looney lefties decided we should give licenses to people are here illegally so that can’t be used. Most countries expel foreigners there illegally, we give em a license. Just really dumb. If authorities round up a group of people at a location known for illegals hanging out and a couple of them turn out to be American citizens they show their citizenship and go on their way. Newsflash. If you get picked up at a known drug house and you get rounded up with the dealers and junkies you are gonna have to show you are neither of those to avoid jail. Let me know when the first Navajo American citizen is deported.
There is an old saying, when you sow the wind you reap the whirlwind. Well you lefties spent four years sowing the wind. It took biden acouple days to do away with the things Trump did to help the border. And you lefties cheered him all the way. And in 6 months or less we were seeing 100k at the border in a month, then 200k and I think we may have hit 300 k a month or two. Not sure about that one. So in 3.5 years you lefties dumped millions, 10,12,15 million into our country. Poorly vetted or not vetted at all. Lefties kept spouting garbage like we must release these people into our country. Well yeah, a few Americans will pay an awful price but that is just collateral damage. btw, we didn’t need to dump those millions into America, the Biden administration chose to.
So for four years Americans turned their tv on to see situations with thousands of illegal gathered at our border waiting to be processed , loaded in a bus and taken to some American city. They saw border patrol, functioning as clerks instead of protecting our border. They saw hundreds of illegals break thru those rolls of wire, trample border agents and escape into America. Americans saw that the volume of illegals at the border were leading record numbers of “gotaways”, millions, and we had zero idea who they were and why they were breaking into our country. So four year of sowing is now leading to the reaping. And Tom Homan and those patriots with ICE and other organizations are now in the process of reaping and removing people who came here illegally, have no right to be here and need to go home.
Fourth, tariffs. You did see what happened this morning didn’t you. After “productive conversations, Mexico agreed to bring thousands of troops to the border to help out in exchange for delaying the tariffs. And voila, mission accomplished. So you lefties can quit whining about the price of your tomatoes going up.
One final thought. Americans were royally pissed that illegals were being housed in hotels while American hero’s, our vets are homeless. Another disgrace foisted on America by you lefties.
So Daman, Trump is following thru with things Americans wanted and voted for . Gonna be interesting to see if dems in Washington start working with him or continue to fight him.
Who voted for a tariff war on our allies? Everybody knows that does nothing for us? Who voted for tanking the stock market so a group of billionaires could make a fortune shorting it, wiping out 401Ks? Who voted for plane crashes? Anybody defending trump is a straight up tool.
We know they all voted for taking over the Panama Canal and Greenland by force if necessary and forcing Canada to be the 51st state. To hunt down and fire everyone in the FBI who had anything to do with any of the investigations on him. Murica! Freedumb!
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
There is no “tariff war” except in your small mind. Trump put them on the table and Mexico provides troops to the border, Canada provides resources to their border and Panama decides to rethink a deal with the chicomms.
Your panic over a small drop in the stock market suggests to me you need to invest your money in cd’s. You don’t have the stomach for a volatile stock market.
Plane crashes get voted on now????
Trump has the innate ability of tweaking the noses of looney lefties like you and turning them into little pools of pulsating protoplasm. Gonna be a long four years. Enjoy it!!
When did this "crisis on the Canadian border" start? I'll tell you. When trump invented it. It's manufactured crisis. So you think hunting down and firing every FBI agent that worked on the trump criminal cases is normal? It's odd how you ignore all of the nasty things he does. Well actually it's not. It's standard operating procedure for your kind.
