I do not either. I half expect Denzel to request a trade next. No sense in wasting your prime years toiling away on such a poorly run organization.

Probably nothing to do with the front office - the product on the field and the competitiveness of the team is not a reflection of the F.O - right? We should sign Berry and KS to another extenision right now to show them a vote of confidence.

Garrett with a shot at Berry saying, “my goal was never to go directly from Cleveland to Canton.”

What’s worse than a dumpster fire? Dumpster fires are contained.

And now Berry is going to have more picks to blow. Lol.

I’d like to see Haslam’s face right now. He’s such a garbage owner. He and Dee.

This’s the culmination of five years of bad decision making.

Three strong reasons why this’s happening is
a) a bad owner
b) the players don’t believe in Andrew Barry’s project
c) Deshaun Watson.

This hurts. First Baker. Ward’s concussions. Chubb gets injured. Losing and elite DC . Then Garrett.

IMO, this is the final straw for this FO and coaching staff. If they don’t produce a winning product this year, they’re gone.

Sad day, but to be expected I suppose. I knew this day would come and floated the idea of trading him once I knew Watson would be a

What a disservice to his career though. We wasted his entire time here never securing another "piece" but constantly acting like we were trying. Every coordinator dying on the hill of "creating pressure up front" without enough complimentary blitz packages. Garrett would have 40 more sacks if he was drafted by Pittsburgh or Baltimore.

"Welcome to Cleveland, Abdul Carter!"

Classless?? rofl

1. He signed a contract.
2. Saying you'll "honor his wishes" lowers his trade value.

I thought Myles was ok when he stated that "the Browns are closer than people think."

He must have had a change in mind.

It has to be very difficult to put your heart and soul into something; be at the top of your profession and can't win.

Now the line has been drawn. Berry will in the end; bend to Myles will. I don't think you force his hand.

Put up the for sale sign and get all you can.

It is sad because players like Myles do not come around often.

Then allow me word it in a way that should seem more palatable to you. It's Stupid.

This will have a very negative impact on the locker room. If any player on the current roster deserves respect it's Myles Garrett. What message do you think it sends for this FO to force him to be where he doesn't want to be? What message does that send other players and future FA's around the league?

And we both know this isn't what teams normally do. There are reasons for that. The Browns still control what they are willing to take for him. Opening up the market to entertain offers puts the Browns in the drivers seat. They can get huge compensation for him. But no, let them wait until his contract expires where they won't get anything in return. In your world I suppose that makes more sense.

Yes, it's not only disrespectful to a player who gave so much to this team, which every player in the locker room and around the league will see, it's stupid.

I was frankly kinda surprised when he said he needed to see the plan in order to resign and then seemed cool with whatever he and Berry discussed. Like, I couldn’t fathom what Berry could have said that he would then have been like “yep, that’s a great plan”.

Because everything rides on the QB and there’s simply no QB! Not in the draft, not in FA and certainly not on the team. At the very best you’re looking to either swing some bananas trade or rolling the dice on the draft where nothing looks better than (or even terribly close to) a 50/50 bet. I don’t understand how this isn’t a rebuild, given where most of our stars are in their contract arcs. Sorry, but when did the DW deed it was all or nothing, a full pile push-in. You got nothing.

Berry should hold his guns until someone offers up two #1’s. Someone will.

For a rebuilding team it would also be incredibly dumb. The negatives of keeping a digruntled star who doesn't want to be here are significant no matter his talent and professionalism.

Trading Garrett in 2025:

Pre-June 1 Trade- 2025 Dead Cap: $36,216,220
Post-June 1 Trade- 2025 Dead Cap: $14,758,895 & 2026 Dead Cap: $21,457,685

Perhaps a reason why the Browns are saying they won't trade Myles.

As much as I respect Myles as a player. The Browns got the best from Myles.

We won 3 games.

No player is indispensable. Trade him for two number ones plus more.

Take Abdul Carter in the draft. Or trade down and get a 2026 first round pick.

Sign a veteran quarterback. Draft a quarterback in the second round if there is a guy there you feel is at the right value.

Go into next year with two or more first round picks.

Myles is the best defensive player in football but we are not going to win without an elite quarterback.

If I were the Browns I would put every resource into getting a great quarterback.

This sucks, and i hope we can work something out this offseason.

that being said, we better get max value in the trade. Berry better be close to perfect on this.

It's simple. Garrett is tired of finishing in last and missing out
On the playoffs.and chances are the Browns won't be making
The playoffs anytime soon. He is still healthy. And a team like the Lions
Or Commanders would love to add him to already talented rosters

This is sad because now that this is public it creates a mess.

Berry is in a difficult position but he helped to create it.

We cannot go into next year with a public feud between management and their best player.

A fragile locker room will become a place nobody will want to be in.

This forces major change. Accept it and make the best of it by rebuilding properly.

The number two pick in this draft and the assets gained by trading Myles will help build the roster.

Now the question is will the right decisions be made?

I agree with your take Bone. A good friend of mine is a big Packers fan. He told me they need a player like Myles. They need a pass rusher badly. He would be the missing piece. I'd play the Packers against the other teams in the division to get the most compensation. I hate to see Myles go but we can turn this into a big advantage for us.

Berry will have to accept that Myles wants out and try and find a trade partner.

Nobody in the AFC North. Preferably trade him to the NFC and get at least two numbers ones.

This was already on the table. Now Myles took the final step.

If the Browns play this right it may be best for all parties.

five years? Would you believe 60 years, minus the Kosar era, not bad decision making there, just a few bad plays (putting it midly). But you are right about Berry and KS, neither have seemed ot gotten better, if anything stayed the same or gotten worse. As for the Haslams, I just think they're not smart owners, they may be good at other businesses, but not football. As for Garrett, not surprised at all, I expect others to want out. So I expect an endless stream of 1 and 2 win seasons, until Haslam does get tired and fires everybody only to hire the next failing regime. Factory of Sadness

Oh and on a side note, I think it may be highly probable that Joel Bitionio decides to retire, read an interview a short time ago where he said he was considering it before the start of this season. No reason now for him to want to stick around in meaningless games just to get hurt, but even if not this off season, it's coming very soon.

I think until we have a QB we’re sunk, everyone knows an it and that’s all there is to it. We can try to tread water for a while with the guys we have playing out their contracts but the clock chimed on DW and unless they can pull a rabbit out of a hat most of the stars should be calling their agents and looking for an exit. Hopefully Berry plays this in the long term interest of the team and not simply his own hyde.

The wheel goes round and round

In the big picture Myles request changed nothing.

We have had Myles in his prime since we drafted him number one.

During his time in Cleveland the Browns have won one playoff game.

It is time that all resources go into drafting a premier quarterback. That includes this year's number two pick.

And trading Myles. If we get a first this year and next. And we were to trade down to six and another 2026 first rounder.

That would give us two first rounders this year and 3 next year. We should be able to find a quarterback and upgrade the talent on the roster.

It is not like in 2025 we are going to contend for anything.

On the surface this Myles thing sounds ugly but really it is probably better to trade him.

Honestly in this scenario, it might be better to do pre June and just get the turd sandwich over with. Next year is a lost year anyway.

Maybe we can do something with the Giants or Patriots and get one of their 1st this year?
