did yall read the same thing i did? Peen's is literally arguing that because DOGE isn't an official agency, it should have MORE authority than the official ones.

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Right, but the hubbub I have seen is he wasn't elected
Doge isn't an official department. Musk doesn't need Senate vetting since he is an advisor to the President. He has been missioned by the President ferret out waste and fraud.
Look, dude... I'm going to explain this one more time, and if you don't get it then it's on you.
He's not elected, nor is he appointed/confirmed. He's a rando (that just so happens to be the largest single campaign contributors AND one that benefits bigly from govt contracts). So this rando advisor has gained access to citizen tax records (which he's already weaponized when doxxed the daughter of a judge he disagreed with). DOGE's website has also already been hacked due to lax security, exposing sensitive intel and previously mentioned citizen tax records. He also previously gained access to the govt's system used to pay contractors.
Case in point, a rando "advisor" is doing a whole bunch beyond just giving advice and affecting congressionally approved budgets/money. It's not that hard to understand how all of this is an ongoing attack on institutionalized checks and balances, which is a pillar of our democracy (speaking of which, go check out his recent EO on him and his AG being the final arbiter of what is and isn't against the law).
Him and Musk aren't just ferreting out waste. They're actively eroding the basic foundation of how this country was originally intended to function.
I think thats a great post that spells things out succinctly. So I doubt if you will receive a response.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
did yall read the same thing i did? Peen's is literally arguing that because DOGE isn't an official agency, it should have MORE authority than the official ones.

To read and agree with the vast majority of 'peen's responses since Trump admin kicked off requires a SERIOUS lack of common sense, a large amount of cognitive dissonance, and/or little to no critical thinking. He's not the only one as well... and for me it's become really apparent because many of the posters that would be arguing intelligently for GOP actions have gone silent. For a group that seemed perfectly fine going around in circles with Pit for multiple pages in multiple threads, I find the silence jarring.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
DOGE’s hastily launched website has already been hacked: ‘This is a joke of a .gov site’
DOGE’S website launch got off to a rocky start after two pages on the site were defaced
Tech billionaire Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency’s website has already been hacked after it was hastily launched earlier this week, and has reportedly leaked classified information.
DOGE’s website launched Wednesday as Musk vowed the department would be “maximally transparent.”
“I don’t know of a case where an organization has been more transparent than the DOGE organization,” Musk bragged in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump this week.
ut the launch got off to a rocky start after two pages on DOGE’s site were defaced by hackers, 404 Media first reported.
Two messages appeared on the site on Friday afternoon, with one saying: “THESE ‘EXPERTS’ LEFT THEIR DATABASE OPEN - roro.”
The other said: “This is a joke of a .gov site.” Both messages were since removed.
Web development experts told 404 that the site “feels like it was completely slapped together,” and contained “tons of errors and details leaked in the page source code.”
The two sources, who the outlet did not name, said that they believed DOGE’s site is not running on government servers.
DOGE also came under fire for posting classified staffing information of a U.S. intelligence agency online, HuffPost first reported.
A function on the website allows users to “Trace your tax dollars through the bureaucracy.” Users can explore Cabinet-level agencies and other departments to review their headcounts and total wages earned.
A footnote at the bottom of the page claims that the data excludes the military, Postal Service, White House and intelligence agencies. HuffPost reported, however, that DOGE’s database provides details on the federal agency that builds and maintains U.S. intelligence satellites.
The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) appears to be the only intelligence agency on DOGE’s database.
Musk’s SpaceX holds a $1.8 billion contract with NRO to build spy satellites, HuffPost reported.
“People are scrambling to check if their info has been accessed,” a Defense Intelligence Agency staffer told the outlet.
An NRO spokesperson deferred to DOGE when HuffPost contacted them for comment.
The Independent has contacted the White House for comment.
As Musk and his DOGE team have gone on a cost-cutting rampage, firing thousands of federal employees, the department has doubled its own spending budget in recent days.
The initiative said in late January it had spent $6.75 million, a figure updated to $14.4 million by February 8, according to government records obtained by Fortune.
The new spending was on “anticipated reimbursements from agencies in support of Software Modernization Initiative,” according to the records.
To add into all the drama, DOGE claimed $8 billion in savings for an effort where it was only $8 million. That’s assuming it amounted to “savings” as well. However, what he will continue to rely on is the fact that the lemmings will take it and run with it.
And he’s right…they will.

That's only one exmple. Many of the numbers on that report are inflated to claim billions upon billions more in cuts than actually happened........
Why DOGE’s ‘Receipts’ Show Elon Musk’s Math Doesn’t Add Up
The receipts, initially promised before Valentine’s Day, were finally made public Monday evening.
Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency finally released a “wall of receipts” as part of its “maximum transparency” promise Monday, but some of their figures are not quite adding up.
The group boasted that its “estimated savings” for American taxpayers is $55 billion so far, but the total it gave Monday adds up to just a third of that figure—and appears to claim credit for the closure of two government offices that were shuttered under Joe Biden.
Those closures are the National Archives centers in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and in Fairfield, Ohio. DOGE’s site claims the latter location was a “True Termination - Agency Closed Office.” No other details are offered.
Those centers’ approximate closing dates were announced way back on Aug. 1, however, when Biden was still president.
“The records and artifacts of the Barack Obama Presidential Library, which have been held temporarily at Hoffman Estates, will be permanently moved to College Park, MD, in late FY 2025,” a news release from National Archives announced at the time.
That release added of the Ohio location: “The records in the Fairfield facility are being relocated to other FRCs, including the Dayton FRC and Great Lakes storage facility during FY25.”
That announcement came 10 days after Harris took over the Democrats’ presidential ticket, which was well before the idea of DOGE had gained traction in MAGA World.
Now that Biden-era closing is being touted as a win by Musk’s Gen Z minions.
The “total savings” for both centers is a combined $780,308, which is a drop in the bucket compared to the country’s $6.8 trillion budget. It does, however, appear to call into question the legitimacy of other DOGE line items.
DOGE’s site has confused many users who have noted a handful of its nixed contracts showed a figure of $0 under “saved.” That includes a terminated contract for Dry Ice at the Department of Health and Human Services, which DOGE’s site lists as costing $104,190 but shows $0 in savings when clicked on for additional details.
Others claimed on X that Musk’s team were adding the full value of a contract into its total DOGE savings—even if the majority of the contract had already been paid out and will not be recuperated.
And the single biggest line-item cited by DOGE—a massive $8 billion contract with D&G Support Services, LLC for “PROGRAM AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR OFFICE OF DIVERSITY AND CIVIL RIGHTS (ODCR)” appears to be closer to $8 million—leading some to question whether DOGE had employed an automated data scraping system to compile the report without human oversight.
DOGE’s site does not say if its savings total accounts for the severance expected to be paid to tens of thousands of federal workers who accepted a buyout offer. Those workers, should the offer be honored, will continue being paid through the end of September and would likely nullify any so-called “savings” from their firings until October.
The sharing of DOGE’s receipts were initially promised by Friday, but that deadline was pushed back to “the weekend” and eventually to Monday.
DOGE’s homepage claims it discovered “fraud” and included it in its receipts, but no contracts were singled out as fraudulent by the group. It says the figures listed account for approximately 20 percent of “overall DOGE savings.”
A disclaimer on the DOGE site says it plans to eventually publish data “in a digestible and fully transparent manner with clear assumptions, consistent with applicable rules and regulations.”
DOGE has committed to updating the site twice a week and, eventually, to allow for it to display data in real time. For now, users can click on most line items and view the contract that was terminated. Among the cuts identified Monday were $10 million for “Mozambique voluntary medical male circumcision” and $29,000 for “Central America Gender Assessment Consultant Services For Forest Service IP.”
Musk has been quiet on X about his group’s newly-released receipts, but has continued to praise their efforts.
That included an incorrect boast that the group had saved near $110 billion—far more than any figure DOGE has claimed itself.
Now, understanding the tide of dislike mounting against them, the Elon Trump presidency is floating a carrot of $5K checks to every American as a “tax rebate”. But if every American got an equal share of the SECOND 4 Trillion Dollar Wealth Transfer in a Trump presidency those checks would be 12K per head, including children annually. But no, this is a carrot of distraction so we don’t realize the top 1% is getting a permanent 1.2 million dollars EACH annually for the second time, while working Americans get chump change. So first round, you got a couple $1,200 stimulus checks… and the top 1% got 7-8 years of $1.2 Million EACH. This time they are starting to talk about $5k, which they will inevitably talk themselves into reducing because it’s just too much, but to keep the heat off they do about half. And it will only go to adults with some restrictions. Those who are on assistance will see less, those who work but still need help will see a hair more. Those working without assistance, who pay the majority of the taxes will get the full amount. While those who never knew the feeling of hunger or worked a job that makes you sweat in their lives will get millions. And a hand full of Billionaires will get billions.
Raise your hand if you are down for that deal at the mere cost of public education, reducing social security by $65 a month, and taking the crappiest government medical insurance and food benefits away from the poorest kids and families in America. Yeah, that doesn’t include all the other programs and services you are losing like heating assistance, foreign aid, having actual watchdogs making sure the government is’n’t being used to rob us blind, or having planes that don’t crash weekly!
Are we winning yet? Because none of that will bring down housing or eggs prices. Nope, those are about to skyrocket for a second time and the inflation will be nuts. And if you think this is what you voted for RAISE YOUR HAND AND BE COUNTED. I want to see who the idiots are.
All this chaos and pain is ONLY for the benefit of the financial elite. The rest of us get a token to ride the doubled down rerun second round of massive deficit growth that we will be taxed to pay, while dealing with back breaking inflation and the greedy using our money to buy up our homes and other assets they can RENT BACK TO US. Did you catch the THEY ARE USING OUR OWN MONEY TO SCREW US BIT? It’s almost like 50+ years of wealth transfer wasn’t enough… and they know it’s unsustainable because growth will eventually end. So they are taking it all now, and we are letting them. Some are even rooting for it. Think about that.
It makes the ongoing heist easier. Sure some small potatoes will get away with cheating, BUT SO WILL ALL THE ELITE AND MEGA-CORPS. They’ll save trillions and the smaller guys get away with a few million. That is acceptable loss to the elite.
1. You can't tell me that's not pandering shamelessly.
2. What impact will that have on inflation? I'll be curious to see everyone who railed against Biden for issuing so many stimmies back in 2021 (I was one of the people who railed on him for that by the way), suddenly do an about face and proclaim "This is a great idea!"
3. Wasn't this supposedly done to save money??? Aren't they supposed to get rid of the deficit, reduce debt and enable a sovereign wealth fund (that also doesn't make any sense)??? So now, they're going to - I suppose - reduce spending, but keep the debt the same, increase the deficit with tax cuts, and also checks to people at large? Holy moly...

I think the “Sovereign Wealth Fund” is the fleecing of the government's tax revenue to be controlled by the oligarchical elite. Dude I posted the economics video from calls it techno-feudalism. Break the world up into fiefdoms that the financial elite own and rule. Everyone else reduced to peasantry.
That would explain why Trump wants Canada, Greenland, and the Panama canal. Taking and keeping the west would be easy then. And it’s the NAZI type solution to kill off those you find undesirable, non-essential, weak, or simple too brown/black. I hope this is wrong, way wrong, but there is some sort of nefarious end game or Trump and Elon wouldn’t be blatantly breaking all these laws.
This should be interesting if it actually takes place..................
'The Daily Show' accepts Musk's terms for interview with Stewart: 'We'd be delighted'
Elon Musk agreed to come on "The Daily Show" after host Jon Stewart delivered a takedown of DOGE, the cost-cutting initiative he unofficially leads.
Elon Musk could be headed to "The Daily Show" to go toe-to-toe with host Jon Stewart, a frequent outspoken critic of both the Trump administration and the billionaire's efforts to slash government spending.
Calls have been growing online for Musk and Stewart to face off on Comedy Central's flagship satirical news program ever since Stewart delivered a tirade of the Tesla and SpaceX CEO so impassioned, he sliced his hand open. Stewart sustained the injury Monday while railing against the Department of Government Efficiency, the effort Musk unofficially leads at the behest of President Donald Trump that has drastically been culling the federal workforce.
After the episode aired, Musk's supporters began clamoring on social media site X, which he owns, for the tech mogul to go on "The Daily Show" for a one-on-one conversation with Stewart. Musk appeared to accept the challenge, replying Tuesday to one user, "I will do it if the show airs unedited."
"The Daily Show" took notice, reposting the message Wednesday from its official account accepting the terms.
"We'd be delighted!" read the response, which tagged Musk.
Whether Musk will indeed be booked on "The Daily Show" remains to be seen. USA TODAY left a message Thursday with representatives for the show.
I thought that too at first. But after further consideration I'm not so sure one way or the other. One thing I've learned over time is that people who are highly narcissistic believe they have abilities they are sorely lacking in. It would not surprise me if he actually felt he is smarter than Stewart and takes on a challenge that he himself made to begin with.

By the way, I know most Trump supporters have Houdini'd as of late, aside from Memephis and Peen, but I did want to point out to them and everyone else that Elmo went on a tirade about how the latest 5 points email was just meant to be a pulse check.
That was a lie.
How do I know?
OPM sent an email out to each one of us on Jan 27th telling us to respond to make sure that they were able to account for us. THAT was the "pulse check." He's just ticked off that his stuff wasn't well-received at first and tried to save the damage to his own ego.

Musk's DOGE fires federal tech team that built free tax-filing site
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration has pulled the plug on a team of tech-savvy civil servants that helped build the IRS’s free tax-filing service and revamped websites across government, according to an email sent overnight to employees.
In an email to employees of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) seen by Reuters, the GSA’s Director of Technology Transformation Services Thomas Shedd said the team — known as 18F — had been identified as “non critical.”
A GSA source said the roughly 90 18F employees were immediately locked out of their devices.
First launched in 2014 under former President Barack Obama, the 18F team was housed within GSA and helped federal agencies improve their digital services.
It was tasked with improving federal website accessibility, modernizing technology, enhancing data access, and making the government’s customer service experience more user-friendly.
Billionaire Elon Musk, who leads the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency team known as DOGE, earlier this month responded to a post on X that called 18F a "far left government-wide computer office" by saying the group has been "deleted."
The IRS's free direct-file tax website is currently still online.
GSA did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
USAID reinstates contracts for Georgia company that helps feed malnourished kids after Elon Musk responds to CNN reporting
The CEO of a plant in Georgia that makes a special peanut butter paste for severely malnourished children around the world told CNN Sunday that his company’s contracts with the US Agency for International Development that had been abruptly canceled last week were all reinstated late Sunday night.
Mark Moore, the founder MANA Nutrition, shared screenshots of the rescinded contract termination notifications with CNN.
“Thrilled,” he said in response to the news.
He also told CNN that he was working to quickly start using USAID-labeled pouches in production again: “It’s a yo-yo. I just texted the factory and told them to switch back to USAID packaging as of midnight.”
The development came after Elon Musk said on social media earlier on Sunday in response to CNN’s previous reporting about the terminated USAID contracts that he would “investigate” and “fix it.” MANA’s canceled contracts had been the result of the Trump administration’s drastic efforts to slim down the federal government led by Musk, who leads a new government agency called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Moore’s company makes a special kind of peanut butter paste – a type of RUTF (“Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods”) – that many humanitarian aid workers are familiar with. It is fortified with milk and essential vitamins, packed with calories and sent to severely malnourished children around the world, including some countries in Africa. USAID has historically supported and funded the development and distribution of RUTF products over the years.
On Wednesday afternoon, Moore got word from USAID that MANA’s contracts with the agency were being canceled. CNN spoke with Moore just minutes after he said he received a series of contract termination letters from USAID. One of his first orders of business was asking his workers mid-production to immediately stop putting labels that say “USAID” on the pouches that the peanut butter paste is squirted into.
He said without contracts with the agency, he would not be allowed to distribute any products bearing the agency’s name.
The back-and-forth is just one of the many aftershocks of the Trump administration’s rapid decimation of USAID, which has suffered more severely than almost any other agency across the government. Thousands of positions at the federal agency have been eliminated and the vast majority of its officials have been placed on leave. Contracts are being canceled left and right, leaving many in the humanitarian aid world reeling.
In normal times, Moore’s plant produces 10 pouches of the lifesaving paste every second. Each small bag contains 500 calories’ worth of the special peanut butter — which does not require refrigeration or additional preparation.
In their warehouse, Moore said last week, there were around 400,000 boxes of USAID-branded RUTF ready to be shipped out. He estimated that if USAID didn’t pay MANA for those boxes, he would have at least $10 million in wasted peanut butter pouches on his hands. And that didn’t include an additional $14 million in reimbursements from the federal government that he was already waiting for.
Erin Boyd, a USAID nutrition adviser who was laid off from the agency in January, told CNN it was not an overstatement to say that children would die as a result of the decimation of USAID and funding for RUTF.
“Even before this happened, there wasn’t enough funding to treat all the children who were presenting wasting.” Boyd said.
Wasting, according to UNICEF, refers to a life-threatening form of malnutrition: “Children with wasting are too thin and their immune systems are weak, leaving them vulnerable to developmental delays, disease and death,” the group says.
In a statement Musk said, "You mean i was actually starving malnourished children around the globe and preventing the governmnent from paying American companies money we already owed them?? Well I told you mistakes would be made.

So in other words Musk isn’t doing what Trump has tasked him to do. He’s not being very efficient on making the govt efficient. Maybe Trump should wake up and fire the dud he launched.
