If you were any more misinformed it would be scary. What Biden did was forgive School Loans where the amount loaned what repaid WITH INTEREST BUT STILL HAD A BALANCE. But like everyone else, you only hear what you wanna hear.

It's impossible to compare what Biden may or may not have done with the out and out refusal to adhere to normal and traditional judicial rulings.

What Biden did to after the SCOTUS voted it down, was to find another way that stood.

Minnesota state senator Justin Eichorn allegedly traveled to meet a 17-year-old he thought he’d met online, but was instead a cop posing as minor

A Republican state lawmaker in Minnesota who recently introduced a bill to create a mental illness category for liberals obsessed over Donald Trump was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly soliciting a minor for prostitution.

Minnesota senator Justin Eichorn was arrested and booked on Tuesday. He believed he was talking to a 17-year-old female, but was communicating instead with detectives from the Bloomington, Minnesota, police department, police allege.

Eichorn, a 40-year-old whose biography on the Minnesota Senate website says he is married with four kids, faces felony charges for soliciting a minor to practice prostitution.

“As a 40-year-old man, if you come to the Orange Jumpsuit District looking to have sex with someone’s child, you can expect that we are going to lock you up,” Booker Hodges of the Bloomington police department said in a statement.

The Minnesota Senate GOP called for Eichorn to resign, saying the reports were shocking. “Justin has a difficult road ahead and he needs to focus on his family,” the caucus said in a statement. The Republican party of Minnesota also called for Eichorn to resign because of the “seriousness” of the charges.

Eichorn is one of five authors of a bill introduced this week that would classify “Trump derangement syndrome” as a mental illness. The derogatory term is often used by Trump supporters to claim liberals are obsessed with Trump to the point of being mentally ill.

The bill defines the syndrome as “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons that is in reaction to the policies and presidencies of President Donald J Trump. Symptoms may include Trump-induced general hysteria, which produces an inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and signs of psychic pathology in President Donald J. Trump’s behavior.” Expressions of the syndrome could include “intense hostility” toward Trump or “overt acts of aggression and violence against anyone supporting President Donald J Trump or anything that symbolizes President Donald J Trump”.

The bill garnered national headlines and criticism from the left. State senate majority leader Erin Murphy called it “possibly the worst bill in Minnesota history” and said if it’s a joke, it wastes time and trivializes real mental health issues. If it’s serious, it’s “an affront to free speech and an expression of a dangerous level of loyalty to an authoritarian president”.

Trump fires both Democratic commissioners at FTC

NEW YORK, March 18 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump fired two Democratic commissioners at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday, in another major test of the independence of regulatory agencies.

A White House official confirmed the firings of Democratic Commissioners Alvaro Bedoya and Rebecca Kelly Slaughter after they were first reported by Reuters, but had no additional comment.

"Illegally gutting the Commission will empower fraudsters and monopolists, and consumers will pay the price," said Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat from Minnesota, in a statement.

The FTC enforces consumer protection and antitrust laws, and has a bipartisan structure where no more than three of the five commissioners can come from the same party.

Both Bedoya and Slaughter plan to sue to reverse the firings. "This is corruption plain and simple," Bedoya said in a statement on X.

Slaughter said in a statement: "The President illegally fired me from my position as a Federal Trade Commissioner, violating the plain language of a statute and clear Supreme Court precedent."

FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, a Republican appointed to the commission last year by then-President Joe Biden and named chairman by Trump, said on Tuesday he has "no doubts" about Trump's constitutional authority to remove commissioners, "which is necessary to ensure democratic accountability for our government."

"The Federal Trade Commission will continue its tireless work to protect consumers, lower prices, and police anticompetitive behavior," Ferguson said on X.

Mark Meador, Trump's pick as the third Republican on the commission, has not yet been confirmed by the U.S. Senate. It was unclear if the Trump administration planned to nominate replacement commissioners for the two who were fired. The FTC can bring or dismiss cases with only two commissioners.

WHITE HOUSE CONTROL

Trump has already sparked lawsuits by firing members of other independent agencies including the National Labor Relations Board.

The U.S. Supreme Court in 1935 upheld a law allowing the firing of FTC commissioners only for good cause, such as neglecting their duties. The ruling shields several independent, bipartisan multi-member agencies from direct White House control.

Two federal judges in Washington, D.C., have said Trump's firing of NLRB Member Gwynne Wilcox and Merit Systems Protection Board Member Cathy Harris violated federal law.

The Trump administration has embraced an expansive view of presidential power, and an executive order on February 18 gave the White House greater control over independent agencies.

The firings may complicate Ferguson's bid to show the FTC remains committed to protecting consumers and competition in U.S. markets.

Commissioner Melissa Holyoak, the other Republican on the commission, and Ferguson were recused in the FTC's case accusing the three largest pharmacy benefit managers of steering diabetes patients towards higher priced insulin so they could reap millions of dollars in rebates from pharmaceutical companies.

The recusals raise uncertainty about how the FTC will manage the case going forward.

Klobuchar told Reuters on Tuesday that while she supported Meador's nomination before, she will not now.

"I don't understand why when they are firing people we would ever support their commissioners again," she said.
Ferguson has reiterated the agency's commitment to policing Big Tech companies.

The agency is gearing up for trials in a case against Meta Platforms (META.and two cases against Amazon (AMAZNON). It is also enforcing privacy-related settlements with Meta and X.

Reporter Calls Out Leavitt for Misleading About ‘Democrat’ Judge Appointed by Bush

Karoline Leavitt’s tirade against the “Democrat activist” judge at the center of a deportation-related court conflict was interrupted by an awkward exchange after she falsely said he was first appointed by Barack Obama.

Donald Trump’s press secretary was set straight by NBC’s White House Correspondent Garrett Haake, who said U.S District Judge James Boasberg was originally appointed by Republican President George W. Bush—and later elevated to the federal bench by Obama.

Bush gave Boasberg, now 62, his first job on the bench in 2002 as an associate judge on the Washington D.C. Superior Court before he was appointed as a federal judge by Obama in 2011. Boasberg was a former law school roommate of Trump-nominated Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Donald Trump has lambasted Boasberg for trying to block his flights out of the country carrying “dangerous” Venezuelan men rounded up in ICE raids around the country.

In her press briefing on Wednesday, Leavitt blasted U.S. judges, claiming they were fomenting “ridiculous lawfare” against the administration and demanded the Supreme Court take action to “rein them in.”

“It’s very clear that this is an activist judge who is trying to usurp the president’s authority,” she said of Boasberg, who is questioning the illegality of the deportations.

“Under the Alien Enemies Act, the president has this power and that’s why this deportation campaign can be continued,” continued Leavitt.

“This judge, Judge Boasberg, is a Democrat activist,” she said. “He was appointed by Barack Obama. His wife has donated more than $10,000 to Democrats and he has consistently shown his disdain for this president and his policies and it’s unacceptable.”

Leavitt was then interrupted by NBC’s Haake, who had asked the initial question about the deportations. He said Judge Boasberg “was originally appointed by George W. Bush and elevated by Barack Obama. I just felt like I should correct that.”

Leavitt ignored the correction and pivoted to say: “Let me just say something to that effect, Garrett, 67% of all of the injunctions in this century have come against which president? Donald J. Trump.”

She continued: “Let me say that again, 60% of the injunctions by partisan activists in the judicial branch have come against President Donald Trump and 92% of those have been from Democrat-appointed judges. This is a clear concerted effort by leftists who don’t like this president and who are trying to impose or slow down his agenda.”

Earlier, she had told reporters: “The judge in this case is essentially trying to say that the president doesn’t have the executive authority to deport foreign terrorists from our American soil. That is an egregious abuse of the bench. This judge does not have that authority. That’s why we’re fighting this in court.”

This woman who poses as a press secretary is really a bit of a piece of work. If it's true that "67% of all of the injunctions in this century have come against which president? Donald J. Trump.”, There is a good reason for it. He keeps taking the advice of lawyers that think the constitution is a plaything and can be manipulated to suit his needs and wants. When a judge sees that, they tend to stand up and be counted. Well, some of them will anyway.

My biggest fear is that Congress, as it's currently formed, will attempt to change the constitution in a way that makes it difficult for a judge to challenge things that Trump does.

I'm not certain how they'd accomplish that, but it bugs me.

Judge rips DOJ's 'woefully insufficient' response to questions about Alien Enemies Act case

The government filed its response to U.S. District Judge James Boasberg under seal after days of heated back-and-forth.

A federal judge on Thursday blasted the Justice Department’s latest response to his demand for more information about deportation flights that were carried out under a wartime law known as the Alien Enemies Act, calling it “woefully insufficient.”

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg wrote in a three-page ruling that the government “again evaded its obligations” to provide information that he had been demanding for days about the timing of the Saturday flights. President Donald Trump had invoked the rarely used law to deport people the administration claimed were members of a Venezuelan gang deemed a “foreign terrorist organization.”

At an emergency hearing on Saturday, the judge had directed that any deportation flights being carried out under the AEA authority immediately return to the U.S. Two flights landed in Honduras and El Salvador within hours of the judge’s order.

The DOJ response was submitted under seal, but Boasberg said the department told him he could disclose the contents. It comprised “a six-paragraph declaration from the Acting Field Office Director for Enforcement and Removal Operations at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Harlingen, Texas, Field Office” that did not include any new information about the flights, the judge wrote.

The Justice Department later released its filing.

As to another of the judge’s questions, whether the government would try to assert a “state secrets” privilege in order to get out of answering questions, the ICE official said, “I understand that Cabinet Secretaries are currently actively considering whether to invoke the state secrets privilege over the other facts requested by the Court’s order.”

The judge called the response “woefully insufficient. To begin, the Government cannot proffer a regional ICE official to attest to Cabinet-level discussions of the state-secrets privilege.”

He said he wanted a sworn declaration by a “person with direct involvement in the Cabinet-level discussions regarding invocation of the state-secrets privilege” by Friday morning, and to be notified of any decision on the issue by Tuesday.

He also directed the Justice Department to submit a filing explaining how it “did not violate the Court’s Temporary Restraining Orders by failing to return class members removed from the United States on the two earliest planes that departed on March 15, 2025.”

Trump, who called for Boasberg to be impeached earlier in the week, trashed him in a post on his social media platform after the ruling, accusing him of "doing everything in his power to usurp the Power of the Presidency" and calling his rulings "ridiculous."

In a statement before the judge’s ruling, a DOJ spokesperson said, “The Department of Justice continues to believe that the court’s superfluous questioning of sensitive national security information is inappropriate judicial overreach.”

Boasberg had issued an order Wednesday demanding DOJ answer his questions and warned of the possibility of “consequences” if it did not.

A Justice Department lawyer refused to answer any questions about the flights at a tense hearing Monday and maintained the government had complied with the judge’s more limited written order shortly after the Saturday hearing.

The judge summarized the DOJ’s position as, “we don’t care, we’ll do what we want,” and ordered it to respond to his questions by noon on Tuesday.

The Justice Department responded to some of his questions in the Tuesday filing, but refused to answer detailed questions about the flights, calling his request “inappropriate.”

The lawyers contended the types of details Boasberg sought would “disclose sensitive information bearing on national security and foreign relations.”

“If, however, the Court nevertheless orders the Government to provide additional details, the Court should do so through an in camera and ex parte declaration, in order to protect sensitive information bearing on foreign relations,” they wrote Tuesday.

The judge then said they could file such a response under seal and directly to him by Wednesday at noon. But the Justice Department still refused to comply, and argued the judge should pause the case until an appeals court rules on the administration’s motion for an emergency stay.

“The distraction of the specific facts surrounding the movements of an airplane has derailed this case long enough and should end until the Circuit Court has had a chance to weigh in,” the Justice Department filing said, while also pushing for a delay so that it could present the argument that disclosing the information would reveal “state secrets.”

The judge then extended his deadline to Thursday at noon, directing the government to either answer his questions or “invoke the state-secrets doctrine and explain the basis for such invocation.”

Boasberg also took issue with the government’s contention he was trying to “beat a dead horse solely for the sake of prying from the Government legally immaterial facts.” He said he wants the information “to determine if the Government deliberately flouted its Orders issued on March 15, 2025, and, if so, what the consequences should be.”

The government’s appeal is proceeding in the meantime, with oral arguments scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Lawyers say some deported by ICE weren't gang members, were targeted for tattoos

In several sworn declarations, attorneys, relatives and a former official for the Department of Homeland Security have pushed back on the Trump administration's deportation last weekend of Venezuelan migrants to a notorious prison in El Salvador.

The declarations, which were filed overnight Wednesday, detail how some of the migrants were detained and how they were transferred to detention facilities in Texas before being sent to El Salvador. The declarations also allege that many of the migrants do not have ties to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua or have any criminal records.

An official with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement acknowledged in a sworn declaration earlier this week that "many" of the noncitizens deported under the Alien Enemies Act did not have criminal records in the United States.

When asked by ABC News about how authorities are determining if migrants are gang members, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday that the Trump administration is "not going to reveal operational details about a counterterrorism operation."

Michelle Sarabia Gonzalez, the sister of Anyelo Jose Sarbia, who is believed to be in El Salvador, said in a sworn declaration that when she and her brother went to a routine ICE check-in two months ago as part of the asylum application process, officials did not allow her brother to leave.
"The officers asked me whether my brother belonged to a gang and about a tattoo that is visible on his hand," Gonzalez said. "The tattoo on his left hand is of a rose with money as petals." Gonzalez said in her declaration that her brother is not affiliated with Tren de Aragua.

In several declarations, attorneys described how their clients were placed on a plane for deportation but were removed because a Temporary Restraining Order was issued before the plane departed.

Attorney Stephanie Quintero said her client was told by an ICE agent, "You all do not know how lucky you are. You all hit the lottery because you are not getting deported today."

Quintero said her client and several other detainees were removed from the plane and sent back to El Valle Detention Center.

Attorney also described how authorities brought them by bus to the plane after taking them out of detention centers in Texas over the weekend.

"They were chained from top to bottom -- wrists, waist, ankles, chains which came up through their backs so they could barely move," said Quintero.

One of the detainees, Quintero said, almost passed out on the bus "from heat exhaustion and dehydration and started bleeding profusely from his nose."

"The detainees notified the guards, but they did not provide that person with medical attention," Quintero said. The incident was also mentioned in a declaration from another immigration attorney.

Austin Thierry, an attorney who represents a Venezuelan migrant named E.V. who is believed to be in El Salvador, said his client did not have removal orders and has a hearing scheduled before an immigration judge in June.

Thierry said E.V. has an infant son who is a U.S. citizen. According to Thierry, E.V. was detained after ICE officials showed up to his house looking for another individual.

"Since E.V.'s detention, his partner and infant son have struggled to meet their expenses and maintain housing," Thierry said.

Thierry said he believes his client's crown tattoo "may be why ICE falsely accused him of gang membership."

"This crown is not related to Tren de Aragua, but rather a tribute to his grandmother whose date of death appears at the base of the crown," Thierry said.

Attorney Linette Tobin, who represents Jerce Reyes Barrios, a professional soccer player from Venezuela who protested the Maduro regime and was detained and tortured after one of the demonstrations, said his client was falsely accused of having a gang-affiliated tattoo.

"He chose this tattoo because it is similar to the logo for his favorite soccer team Real Madrid," said Tobin.

Deborah Fleischaker, a former DHS official, pushed back on a declaration filed earlier this week by an ICE official who claimed that the alleged gang members were deported because ICE is not prepared to detain members of TdA.

"ICE detention facilities in the United States are prepared to detain any noncitizen, regardless of their security risk level," said Fleischaker in her sworn declaration. "This includes people with violent criminal histories, as well as members of gangs and Foreign Terrorist Organizations."

The former DHS official said ICE detention facilities are able to manage all levels of detainees and said that ICE could have detained the individuals safely "for the duration of their removal proceedings."

Attorneys for the American Civil Liberties Union said in a filing that the migrants who were sent to El Salvador "face prison conditions that have been deemed harsh and life threatening due to systemic abuse in the prison."

The ACLU attorneys added that the Alien Enemies Act does not provide a process for individuals to contest that they are members of the TdA or provide individuals with a "statutory grace period" to seek judicial review.

After Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act, lawyers said, "people with upcoming immigration proceedings started being moved overnight from ICE detention facilities around the country and not allowed to appear at their proceedings, where many were seeking asylum," the lawyers said.

The government lawyers are walking on thin ice. One option that the judge has in his arsenal is the ability to refer their actions to the bar for disciplinary action. The could lose their ability to practice law if they do not comply with the judges orders. Contempt of court charges are also a possibility.

That is why so many DOJ individuals resigned. Their law license is more important to them than the job.

Those that have to hold licenses to practice take the responsibility seriously.

Venezuela minister says no Tren de Aragua members among US deportees

CARACAS (Reuters) -Venezuela's Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said on Friday that none of the hundreds of Venezuelans deported by the U.S. to a Salvadoran prison is a member of Venezuela's Tren de Aragua criminal gang, the reason Washington gave for expelling them.

"I believe with absolute responsibility that not a single one appears on the organizational chart of the now-extinct Tren de Aragua organization, not a single one," Cabello said on a podcast, saying he had names of the deportees from U.S. media and his own source.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday invoked an obscure wartime law to deport rapidly people who were, according to the White House, members of the Venezuelan gang, which Washington has declared a terrorist group and alien enemy.

Despite a judge quickly blocking the measure, Trump's administration deported more than 200 Venezuelans - 137 under the wartime act - to El Salvador where they are being detained in the country's massive anti-terrorism prison, for a year subject to renewal.

Meanwhile, families and lawyers have been seeking news about relatives and clients whom they could no longer reach, and demanding their return to Venezuela.

Venezuela says Tren de Aragua was effectively wiped out in 2023, and that the idea that it still exists is based on a claim from the country's political opposition.

"It is a lie, a massive lie, and we have the means to prove it," Cabello added. "Now if the United States refuses to recognize this reality, that's their prerogative."

The gang, which began in a prison in Venezuela's Aragua state and is accused of sex trafficking, contract killings and other crimes, spread outside its home country including to the U.S. over the last decade during a migrant exodus from Venezuela, according to U.S. authorities and media reports.

Trump's administration is facing a March 25 deadline to respond to a judicial request for more details on the deportations. A U.S. judge had ordered the plane carrying the deportees turn around.

Cabello said that of 920 migrants returned via five flights since February, only 16 have ongoing judicial processes in Venezuela.

Caracas and Washington have clashed over deportation flights. The U.S. said on Thursday that Venezuela lied in saying that a flight of deportees was repatriated via Mexico. Meanwhile, a Venezuelan lawmaker has accused Washington of blocking direct repatriation flights from the U.S. to Venezuela, which Caracas is ready to resume.

Separately on Friday, Canada's government announced sanctions against eight senior officials in Venezuela's government, citing human rights violations and undermining democracy.

Caracas blasted the sanctions as "ridiculous" and said Canada issued them to "ingratiate itself with the designs of Washington."

I wonder if Trump and republicans understand that a lot of what they want to do can probably be justified within the law.. Had they followed the prescribed method (including congress) they could have avoided all the BS.

Only Criminals want to hide their actions in this fashion...

Will everything they want be cleared,, Probably not..

I think the government lawyers are seeing how far they can push the judge and what they can get away with before the contempt charges come-they also want this to go to the supremes for a ruling
