In grade school, our first grade teacher(a Roman Catholic Nun) allowed us to bring in any records we wanted to play before we went home for Christmas vacation. Someone brought in the Grass Roots "Midnight Confessions" 45.
Halfway thru the song you'de think she was gonna have a stroke. That was the end of her Christmas Vacations parties.
Last night my wife and I went to see Asleep At The Wheel. A great band who has been around for 50 years in one version or another. They keep the Texas Swing sound alive. I had high expectations, and they exceed those expectations. Ray Bensons voice is still as deep and smooth as ever. My wife is from Idaho. She had never heard of them. She knows them now. She remarked many times how she remembered this and that song from when she was a little girl. They cover the classic.
The last few weeks she kept asking who they were and I told her don't worry, you are going to like them, and she loved them.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
My daughter took me to see Tom Petty for my birthday before he passed. I mean it would have been awkward if he held a concert after he passed. But anyway when I found out that his opening act was Steve Winwood to say I was somewhat excited is a bit on an understatement. She had no idea who he was. I told her she would like him and would probably know some of his music. She did. Growing up she listened to more music from the 70's than the 80's and early 90's. From Blind Faith to Traffic to his solo career, Steve Winwood has been nothing short of amazing.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
I think that this backdrop has been used in aabout a dozen Frontier music videos.

Yeah, Robin Mcauley, Reb Beach, and Jeff Pilson and Matt Starr .... Black Swan is just a great rock and roll band.
I have certain artists I really like, and with today's rock scene largely being under the Frontier Records umbrella, many play in multiple bands.
Reb Beack plays with Whiresnake and Winger ..... but it seems like he has a hundred of these side projects.
Same thing with Jeff Pilson. Great bassist and singer, as well as a great producer.
I like guitarists like Reb Beach, Kerri Kelly, Brad Gillis, Joel Hoekstra, (all of whom have played with Night Ranger at one point or another) Doug Aldrich, George Lynch, and such. Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees, Revolution Saints, etc.) is one of my favorite front man.

Beach and Gillis are terribly underrated. I'd venture most are more familiar with Gillis since he was with Ozzy for a spell, but still underrated in my book because I think he's much higher on "all-time" lists than most usually place him.
I'll add John Sykes from Whitesnake to that list. He did a couple albums under the name Blue Murder after leaving Whitesnake, with some really amazing guitar work. There are better tracks, particularly Ptolemy, but not many videos.
Doug Aldrich with the Dead Daisies. Picked this one because there is a freeway sign shoutout to Youngstown.

They are a band with a largely rotating roster. They do some kick butt stuff, though. (including the remake of the Grand Funk Railroad song above)
