I know it's really early, but these things take a long time to plan and the earlier we get a hold of the away team for tickets the better.
I put a simple poll on my site to see where everyone wants to go next year.
Your help would be appreciated.

Definite --- Nashville
Possibly --- Jax or Washington
Since it's an easy drive from Cleveland, I'll probably do Buffalo as well. And remember - the Bills play a game in Toronto next year - could be the Browns game!

My brother and I have tentatively picked Wash. The dates won't be out for quite a while yet though.

Typically announce the dates in mid-April. One of my favorite days of the year, so I can finally begin planning the trip(s).
People should start saving up now, so there are no excuses!

Cleveland in the summer again... I go up there for camp, they go 10-6. They need me. But I plan on being up there for at least a week for my Aunt's 60th birthday in early June. If I decide to stay up there, I'll need to find work in the Aurora/Twinsburg area.
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

If they play in Toronto I am so there! I am actually shelling out $200 for passports to go up to Canada in April, so I will already have that covered I have been to Buffalo before and I liked it there. I will NEVER go to Philly again,,ever. I don't care if it's free they are a bunch of jerkoffs there. Tennessee looks interesting.

They told me as of Jan 1st all land travel requires them as well. Well, the post office said that, but your right I just read that it has been delayed till summer 09. Nice, $200 more to blow in the casino!

You need passports for Canada now??? Nashville is a natural for you folks. Close enough drive or easy flight...probably some cheap ones too. A great place not that far away, but a world of difference. Tootsie's Orchid Lounge...the best beer drinking honky tonk I have ever found...and I have found more than a few.

Peen,
Any general idea of what the drive time would be - Cleveland to Nashville? Over 7 hours?

You need one if you fly but not drive yet (Canada)
I bet you can find an AirTran down to Nashville for pretty cheap outta Akron. 8 hours to Tennessee from Cleveland,,is that right? wow, I thought it would be longer.

It takes me about 10 hours to drive from Chattanooga...Nashville would be a bit closer....I would factor a 9 hour drive.
If you don't fly, do what I do....leave Friday afternoon/ early evening..drive until 10 or so...then get in on saturday around noon or so...give you time to do the country HOF or something like that...then you won't be killed from the drive, allowing a big night Saturday night.

Been playing with some flight options for generic dates a few months in the future - Cleveland-Nashville, Friday-Monday, direct flights (Continental) for about $190-198 when all the taxes and fees are included. Not too bad, but gives you an idea of what to budget for - probably book that flight in the late spring/early summer once the schedule is announced.

Hopefully we will do a "Bus Trip" from Cleveland to Nashville and one to Buffalo (Toronto) picking up people along the way on both.
Nashville and Jacksonville are the big vote getters right now, but that doesn't mean we won't do others.

Those would be naturals for folks out of Cleveland. You should be able to pack those.
I can tell you the last 3-4 times(at least) the team has played in Nashville, they stay at the Renaissance Hotel...right around the corner from Ryman Auditorium and all the nightlife.

You know Jax might work for me too. my crazy ass mother-in-law lives down there and would love for us to come visit her. And the game or staying at a hotel will give me an out to get the hell away from her Plus the wifey would love to go to the game and won't give me as much flak about wanting to travel for an away game. It's a win/win!
I still wanna go to the Tenn game but if not Jax should be a good backup plan!

Wildhorse is nice.....good food and you can get dance lessons there...kind of touristy for me.
If you want the real deal....Tootsies orchid lounge is the place. It is where all the artists stopped to wet their whistle before and after shows at the Opry when it was at the Ryman....next door.
Hundreds of old promo photos they signed and pinned on the walls.
It isn't uncommon for some of the stars to stop in and play a tune or two with the rising artists have the stage that night. Pretty cool stuff.
Roberts Western World, a few doors down is much the same.....good beer drinking honky tonks.

I was just looking at the Nashville KOA. They have camping lodges with: Rustic Kamping Lodges have a porch swing, full kitchen & bath, heat/ac, TV/VCR, outdoor grill, kitchen utensils. Sleeps 6.. arrive Sat, have a cookout / party. If it's an early season game, hit the pool. Mapquest tells me it's a 6 hour drive Could be fun! http://koa.com/facilities/lodge/photogallery.htm

For anyone in the Columbus area... Skybus now flies into Niagra Falls, NY. It would be cheaper to fly than drive as long as you pick up the cheaper flights...

Definitely doing Nashville and Buffalo ( Toronto ). 95% sure I'll also do either Jax or Washington, decision will probably depend on the date (schedules released in April). Just went online and got visitors guides coming in the mail from all the cities. Helps when trying to pick a good hotel to stay at. Also hoping that the games fall in the Oct-Nov areas - it's great taking over a bar on Saturdays to watch OSU, the locals usually don't know what the heck is going on when their bars get packed with 200 Ohio State fans. I like how several are planning and looking forward to this this early on. Budget your money, save up, and it WILL be a great time.

There will be lots of packages and options, but this is what it cost for all these things on the St Louis Trip. Not bad foir all this. LOL Hotel Package 2-night package (Friday & Saturday nights) $375.00 per person, double occupancy (Single: $490.00; Triple: $345.00; Quad $330.00) š Two-night stay (Friday & Saturday) at The Drury Plaza Hotel “At the Arch,” St. Louis, Missouri, including all taxes š Delicious HOT breakfast DAILY at our hotel š Hosted Evening Reception DAILY at our hotel including snacks and 3 drink coupons per person (beer, wine, or cocktails) š Travel Time Tours Hospitality/Welcome Room Reception upon check-in š Friday Night Get-Acquainted Private Buffet Dinner Party (pork loin and chicken) including beverage and dessert (cash bar) š Saturday Private Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tour including transportation (“sampling room” included too, of course) š Saturday Night Private “GO BROWNS Backers” Italian Buffet Dinner Party at Laclede’s Landing hotspot including pool tables and disc jockey (no host bar; closed to public from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM; but stay as long as you like) š Sunday Morning Private “Tailgate Party” at our Hotel including Brats, Burgers, and Beer, etc. š Sunday Game Ticket in Special Reserved “GO BROWNS Backers” section of St. Louis Dome (corner end zone/end zone seating) š Admission to ALL events by wristband only Of course this is just our packages. Other clubs will packages also. Quote:

That seens a bit fancy pants for my tastes. I liked what Saint said about the KOA cabin that sleeps six. If we got six to go and we all split gas and the cost of the cabin I bet we could do the trip for probably abut $200 a person.
