I liked him over Hunter or Sanders. Carter would have been nice but he’s a little under sized and has bum feet at a young age. I can understand the move and subsequent pick.
He is a solid player but not a generational talent like Hunter is. Maybe Berry thinks Graham will do for the Browns what Aidan Hutchinson did for the Lions?
Garrett, Graham, and Hall make a nice starting 3/4 of a DL.

I love it. He was a secret hope of mine assuming we traded back. Solid middle of the trench to build around, makes everyone around him better. He’s nasty.

It's an OK pick IMO. Not a sexy position or player, but won't be bad. We are surely targeting next year's draft to get our QB
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Hutchinson is a DE and Graham is a DT. Unless this guy becomes Aaron Donald it's a bad pick.
The Browns passed on the consensus top 3 players in the draft in Hunter, Carter and Jeanty.
I hate the Browns for proving me right. They are actually following the smart draft process. We basically moved down a few spots and picked up the value of 2 first round picks. They also now have ammo to move back up into the first round to pick up a QB if there is one they want. If they do then I suspect it will be for either Dart or Milroe. If they don't move up then we will have 2 second round picks at the top of the second round. There will be some solid players at the top of the second round.
Honestly, I would love to see them move back from their first round picks next year to pick up picks for 2027 when picking a REAL QB will be possible.
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

Feel the same… if we stayed at 2 I wanted carter…. Trading back I was hoping for the tackle from LSU but this is solid…. Could have seen the running back (Ashton) but I’m fine with this pick and liked the trade….

Don't hate the pick but I thought Jeanty and Warren would have been better picks, I think those 2 guys will be studs where as I don't see Graham as being any better than a good player.
No way I would take a rb top 10 in the deepest rb class in 20 years. I liked Warren but we need a beast in the middle. Our tackles will be better without the crap we had at qb.

They were smart doing it
You said it's a colossal disaster because Graham is a sub 300 DL
I hate the trade down but would have taken Jeanty at 5 given the unfortunate situation of the trade. A DT at #5 is absurd when they could have drafted Nolen, Harmon, Grant or Williams with one of their second round picks.

Normally I would agree with that but I think if Jeanty can stay healthy he will be a HOF back.
He’s sub 300 but only by a few pounds. 296? 292? That’s one off season of hitting the weight room and cafeteria hard.
I agree. I'd rather have a guy who can control his weight over a guy weighing in at 330 at 21 years of age. I think most in here know that it is pretty natural to gain weight as you get older.
Dewand is a good example of weight being close to putting him out of the NFL. It is much easier to work with a guy to put on some weight over trying to get a player to lose weight.
I like the Graham pick.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
The quickest way to the QB is straight up the middle. Graham is an impact player at his position. I thought we would take Hunter -and wanted to - but that’s the way she goes.

I agree. And how are you doing my friend?
No doubt Jenty is really good, but not so much better than several others that you can get 2-3-4 rounds later.

What QBs are left that we might covet?
Name any QB not named Ward or Dart.
This draft has fallen perfectly for the Browns. There hasn't been much of a run on positions other than maybe O tackle.
We are sitting in a good position going in to tomorrow. A very good position. Right now it looks like this is falling a defensive draft.
It's going to be interesting to see how we own tomorrow. We have good edge players and safeties available. We have good backs galore. If we like a QB we can go after him. It's wide open.

I doubt he ever becomes Donald because there has only ever been 1 Donald. But Graham dominated in college and controlled the line of scrimmage for 3 years. Probably the most technically sound DT in several years. Strong wrestling background.
And factor in the #36 pick and most likely an early 1st next year, and I think it was a good trade overall.
I thought there were 3 elite players in the draft. Hunter, Carter, and Graham. So getting Graham and 2 premium picks is a win in my book.

I was like warm on the pick until I saw your post. Historically, you are one of the best trench evaluators on this board. Glad to hear your take.

Speaking of historically good talent evaluators on this board, anybody still in touch with CleveSteve? I always loved his draft posts Seem to remember him dropping off because he had a kid
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

I get the move, especially w/ next year's QB class and he added flexibility with the extra first rounder. Still, I was kinda set on Hunter. Graham was considered one of the safest picks in the draft, so we'll see.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.
