If Grossi is upset, I feel better about the deal.

Not horrible.. Wanted Hunter but hey... They did Fleece the Jags however,, so that's good....

I'm surprised that Dart went before Sanders. Speaking of which, why did he fall so far?

With 3 of the next 33, can change this team forever. I expect 3 starters or 2 and a hope QB. I probably go Mike Green de. Treveyon Henderson rb and Mason Taylor Lsu. If we go QB Tyler Shough I think is a great fit for Stephanski.

Not a sexy pick but I love the trade back no matter how talented Hunter is and I like the selection - this Browns team needs a lot of fixin' .... None more so than QB and there wasn't a QB htere at 2.

Typical Browns - #2 pick in a year with a crap QB draft class.

Would love to see another trade down from 33 and get another 1st next year, assuming there is a trade partner ... take Tyler Shough middle of round 2 if we can do that, or take Shough at 36. Be happy to add Emmanwori, Ersery or Burden III as well.

1, if we are trading down form #33 to get another 1st next year, that is just more confirmation that we are targeting getting our Qb in next year's draft. If that is indeed the case then I stay away from drafting a Qb until round 6 or later

2, I don't want mike green. Highly productive but too many character issues. We need to be more mindful of stuff like that

Sanders is falling because he is not an NFL QB. He's a product of a hype machine and having a great WR and popular dad/social media presence

I never wanted him TBH

I still do not want him. Other talent needs available IMO.

He is right up there with Kiper as an analyst IMO. I respect them equally. Can't play favorited with this pair!

Going into last night I wanted Hunter, Hampton, and then the best OL/DL/TE available

Don't hate the trade we did, but now we have pressure to really hit on tonight's picks

From Jason Lloyd's article in The Athletic this morning...

Our Mike Silver was embedded with the Jaguars for the draft. He wrote that Gladstone, who came up in the NFL under Les Snead during the Los Angeles Rams’ “F them picks” era, called Berry to pitch the trade a few weeks ago. The two sides worked out the terms of the deal on April 7, but on the conditions that both owners signed off on it and only if quarterback Cam Ward went with the first pick.

If Ward was somehow available, the Browns were keeping the pick and selecting him. That meant the trade couldn’t be finalized until the Browns were on the clock Thursday night.

One thing I've learned is not to get your heart set on any one player in the draft. It was much harder for me to do before they signed watson. A loss hit hard and a win put me on top of the world. Now I'm much less emotionally invested so it's easier to be practical and look at things from a more logical angle.

Many of us, the experts included thinks this is a very weak draft class for QB's. Rather than reach out of desperation they loaded up for next year which presents a much better QB draft class. Playing the long game at the QB position made perfect sense. Hopefully after posting this they don't turn around and draft Sanders.

Graham is a great DT and I think he will pay substantial benefits. I like the pick at #5.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

This is from a Fox Sports article-But there are several different articles that say mostly the same thing-

But even that decision was met with some backlash and throughout his entire college career, no matter what it was that he did, Shedeur’s every move was judged by the court of public opinion.

That has continued in the days leading up to the draft and no doubt will only intensify once Shedeur steps onto an NFL field.

Although it will be hard to top what one longtime NFL assistant coach told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero earlier this week, claiming Sanders was “the worst formal interview I’ve ever been in in my life”.

“He’s so entitled,” the coach added.

“He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates... but the biggest thing is, he’s not that good.”

While easily the most scathing criticism of Shedeur, he was far from the only one to have personality concerns when it came to the Colorado quarterback.

“It didn’t go great in our interview,” one longtime AFC executive told Pelissero.

“He wants to dictate what he’s going to do and what’s best for him. He makes you feel small.”

An AFC coordinator, meanwhile, said that “when things go wrong” Sanders is quick to blame anybody but himself. “He takes a sack, he blames the O-line,” the coordinator told Pelissero.

Meanwhile, any team who may consider drafting Shedeur will also know picking him means inviting all the headlines that come with his last name.

That includes the possibility of Deion taking over as head coach should things go south.

“It’s going to be different than any other circumstances because of his dad and who his dad is,” an AFC GM told Pelissero.

“But you’d like to think (things will be different) once he gets outside of that. I don’t think it’ll be a problem. The guy wants to be really good. Sometimes you don’t overthink it. It’s complicated just because of the circumstance. He hasn’t helped himself in some of the interviews.”

It isn’t the first time the topic of Shedeur’s interviews has been in the spotlight. In March, one quarterbacks coach from a team drafting in the top seven said he came off as “brash” and “arrogant” in his interview.

Deion called out that claim as “lies” at the time and was just as strong in his response to the latest attacks on his son, calling them “venomous” in an interview with USA TODAY Sports.

“It’s to the point where it ain’t even cute no more. It’s so predictable,” he said.

With the season the Browns just had, taking a DEFENSIVE player at 5 is definitely going to raise some eyebrows.

That said, BPA is BPA, and our DT rotation was probably 1-2 too many aging vet 1-year FA's. I also kinda wonder if they were crossing all their fingers and toes for the LSU OT.

I'm happy with the pick at 5, also very happy with the haul of picks we got. Sure Hunter and/or Carter would have been nice, but would either of them have catapulted the Browns immediately into the Super Bowl? I think we all know that answer, if you're being honest. it's a big fat Hell NO. They would be great talent for us and will be for their respective teams, for sure, but team game about more than any one player. I hope we continue to get solid talent on both sides of the ball. Personally, I really want Arch Manning as our starting QB when he's availabe though I think it's 2 years at minimum for that.

Mason Graham is having his introductory press conference with his family i attendance and MKC asks, "Hi Mason, were you aware a lot of the Browns fan base really wanted Travis Hunter and were let down when you were the pick?"

When is this goblin going to retire?

And if this board is any indication, not a lot of Browns fans feel “let down”.

The further we get from the shock of not taking Hunter, the more I'm warming to the pick.

I also think he'll see a lot more one on ones with Myles drawing attention. Watch the Minnesota game to see how he might fit with Schwartz. One on one and just getting after the QB, it can look pretty nice.

I think Joe Burrow is going to dislike this pick a lot.

I never wanted Hunter; I preferred Abdul Carter, but I also didn't know this DT was rated this high (I don't particularly follow the draft classes).

In short: getting a high motor penetrating rush DT that also plays the run on the way to the QB AND picking up a 1st in 2026 - I absolutely love this. Whomever plays between he and Myles will have a VERY good year. If we can put a plus-side DE opposite Myles, then this DL is gonna be fun.

This kid & Myles next to each other: they will collapse their entire side of the OLine, so offenses will probably try lots of traps, etc to try to catch them out of position or over penetrating... good LBers & Safeties filling behind them will make it all click.

I imagine it would be Michael Hall, or Shelby Harris? Speaking of Hall, how did he look when he was in last year?

They also signed Maliek Collins a stater with the 49ers that could play there also or form a rotation.

IIRC correctly, the general consensus was that he was holding his own when saw the field.

He was my #2 choice after Hunter. I wasn’t one tiny bit upset. I did a deep(ish) dive on the top 8-10 guys. I had a very strong feeling we’d trade back with someone going up for Hunter and if did we’d be lucky to get Graham. Probably the first time in 10yrs I called it. There was 3 guys I’d have been ok with if trading back and graham was the top of the list.

Love that he has a wrestling background, too. And he looks like a baby-faced kid now, but in a few years - maybe a LOT sooner - he’s gonna look like a nasty old-school tackle.

This was one of the smartest picks - thrown in the #1 in the trade-down - we’ve had in a while.
