LOL - Because Zac Jackson of the Athletic says so. I am not sure if this is any glaring nod that Sanders is a great QB. He is head and shoulders better than Gabriel. Is that saying much we shall see. Gabriel is not tall enough to see over Mary Kay Cabot and has a noddle arm. That was the only really bad pick in the draft for the Browns.

Could be Shedeur throwing heaters all day to "prove" his arm strength doubters "wrong" vs Gabriel throwing "naturally" to fit the situation. The guy that works for a company that sells subscriptions backing the guy that has a giant social media following, go figure. Grossi said the opposite. (Gabriel looked better. "A bit." Not that I particularly trust Grossi) He could just be being contrarian to get "negative" engagement that way. I think the Sanders focus/hype (/hyperbole) is mostly click chasing at this point. Time will tell.

QB's look a lot better with zero pressure in shorts playing pass and catch. Now if only he can learn to read NFL D's, process information quickly and stop making what would be 5 yard sacks into 15 yard sacks the Browns may be on to something.
If looking good playing pass and and catch in shorts is all it took to be a good NFL QB every NFL team would have a dozen of them to choose from.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I think what can be seen is Sanders has a chance to be an NFL QB. He has an NFL arm. Sadly, Gabriel does not have the size or arm to be an NFL starter.

Yeah Zac Jackson may be worse than MKC. Either way, they are in shorts right now, I don’t care about any report until I’m seeing it with my own eyes in the pre-season.

From the highlights i saw both qbs looked pretty good against noone. Gabriel was tight on his throws, Sanders throws wobblers on a lot of short to medium. He throws a terrific deep ball however. Camp winner was our new linebacker, that pass he picked off against Gabriel was a moment of hmm we might have something here.
We won't know anything till the pressure comes. Organized scrimmages will be huge.

Yes, he did and he was terrible then and still is now. He has never had insight into the team. His “friends” are on the tv/internet. The only insight he can really give is during camps because he is actually there. I’ve never seen any breaking news come from him. We can watch the videos that he is reporting on because the sessions are available to the media, which means they are inevitably available online. My brother in law was drafted by the Tigers years ago, in the backyard he throws one of the prettiest spirals I’ve ever seen… he’s never played a down of football in his life, he was a golfer during the fall season. Shedeur doesn’t throw a pretty spiral unless he winds up for a down field throw, that’s mechanics. The ball on Short/intermediate should look similar to down the field.

Hype machine. Wake me when he takes us to a super bowl. I’ll be shocked if he starts a game here.

The position he held was only to be a paid media personality whose job was to promote the Browns and their players. Not that there's anything wrong with that but that's the job description he held in a nut shell.

Let's call it for what it is. It is the silly season of football to keep interest up until training camp. You can only fill up so much time with season preview shows.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

You can only fill up so much time with season preview shows. 100% We all crave it though, which is why there are so many outlets.. Truth is, there isn't anything real to talk about until week 3 of training camp, unless there is a significant injury. That's when you will start to see a pattern of who is getting the majority of reps.

if we have to choose between either of those two for anything this year, we're screwed. Unless Flacco gets hurt, neither one should see the field at all in 2025. And, Pit is correct in that only what those two have put on film in the past matters at this point. What you see from them right now in a practice, in shorts, with generic plays to generic routes against generic (or non-existent) defenses doesn't amount to any value or meaning whatsoever. The knocks on Sanders involve play in games under pressure and his decision making. He SHOULD shine in this exact scenario.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I start Gabriel day 1 give him a few games, he is 24 plsyed in 3 different systems. He is either gonna sink or swim. If he falters, next up Sanders. He fails we probably have two of the top 4 picks next year and we try again. Worst thing we can do is focus on 40 year old Flacco and check down Charlie Frye, I mean Pickett.

I am starting to warm up to the idea of Flacco being our second coming of Josh McCown (QB Coach in Pads).
That said, I don't like the idea of throwing a late-round rookie out there in a sink-or-swim situation. If you think he may have a chance of developing, then you put him in the best chance to succeed (which could be starting him right away, or it could be letting him sit for a season).
I don't know about you, but I'm taking our approach to the QB room this off-season as a message that we are looking to (albeit quickly) rebuild over the next season or two.
