Apparently he could be eligible for Cooperstown. Too bad they didn’t do it when he was alive.

Yes. Not only Pete but Shoeless Joe Jackson is also eligible now.

If you haven't seen it there's a pretty good documentary on HBO called Charlie Hustle & The Matter of Pete Rose. Not all of it is positive about Rose but for me it seemed pretty fair handed and helps explain a lot of the overall situation while he was still alive.

I think he should be in the HOF. But I grew up watching Pete and the Big Red Machine so I can't honestly say I'm not bias about it.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Both of Pete and Shoeless better be in the next class inducted. There is zero question about whether or not they deserve it.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Absolutely. I can understand banning a guy from baseball (but not Cooperstown) if he gambled on the sport while active, but on-field accomplishments?

I call foul ball, and have for decades. Betting on baseball didn’t help Rose get 4,200 hits in the majors.

I haven’t seen it but I can say I’m not bias, because I hated Rose when he played for the Phillies. smile

They were a big Expos rival in the early 80s.

I think that was the punishment. Now that he is dead, there isn't a reason to punish any longer. He belongs in the HOF.

I think Joe Jackson suffered a greater injustice. Pete admitted he broke a rule. Jackson didn't have an error in the 1919 series and hit .375. At least from a statistical standpoint I don't see how he was throwing games.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Totally agree about Jackson. It only took how many commissioners over a century to figure that out?
