I don't understand the benefit of this for Ford.
1, makes him easier to cut 2, if he does get cut then he makes 1.7 million less 3, what is the plus for him? He doesn't get cut. Think without the move he was getting cut. It's all guaranteed now. Don't think the old NFL adjusted contract was guaranteed at all. Not sure how the performance escalators work, though. Spotrac already has the new deal up, so I'm not seeing the previous breakdown. Edit: He might still get cut. But now he gets paid regardless. Or he could get traded at cut time. Maybe swap for someone else's right at the cutoff WR.

Berry doesn't negotiate in public, It didn't long for the news of Ford taking a "pay cut" leaking out, did it..?
Ford took the cut on Friday, reducing his guaranteed salary by about half, from $3.486 million to a guaranteed $1.75 million.
I wouldn’t call it a leak, all player contracts are reported to the league office and then becomes public information.

This isn’t coming down to Jerome Ford, it’s Pierre Strong. During 90% of the Berry/Stefanski tenure, they have carried 4 RBs on the 53 man roster. We currently have 4 RBs, if Chubb were to come on, it would be to replace Pierre Strong. You may be correct...however...we may have (4) QBs on the (53) and if we are going 'TE heavy' will have (4) TEs on the 53. The 'extra' spot(s) have to come from somewhere. I will be absolutely shocked if we have 4 QBs for the first game of the season.

Best news on the Nick Chubb front, Mary Kay Cabot is reporting the Browns are likely moving on from Chubb.. if history holds true, this means he’ll be back in a Browns uniform soon. She might just be the worst beat reporter in all of sports. I'm thinking the exact opposite, he'll be gone. I hope not. Here is the article: Nick Chubb will likely have to find a new home now that Browns RB Jerome Ford has accepted a pay cut: Mary Kay Cabothttps://www.cleveland.com/browns/20...b-jerome-ford-has-accepted-a-paycut.html

That was after the negotiating. It's pretty standard to release new contract info.

You and me both...but I am already shocked that we have (5) on the (90) right now...with none of the (5) being a 'camp arm' disposable QB. We have used up 'value' on each one of those (4) guys. I remember the old adage...if you have more than (1) QB (meaning potential starter I suppose) then you have none.

I remember the old adage...if you have more than (1) QB (meaning potential starter I suppose) then you have none. I didn't always agree with that. When the 49ers had Joe Montana and Steve Young, they most certainly had 2 QBs. Any of which I bet Browns fans would take right now if they were playing age. More recently Phil Rivers and Drew Breeze on the Chargers. Farve and Rodgers.

Former Steelers LB Devin Bush arrested just outside Pittsburgh https://sports.yahoo.com/article/former-steelers-lb-devin-bush-100544287.html?fr=sycsrp_catchallOn Saturday, former Steelers linebacker Devin Bush was arrested by the Bell Acres Police Department — just about 20 miles from Pittsburgh. According to the official court document, shared on social media by KDKA Pittsburgh radio host Colin Dunlap, Bush was arrested on "simple assault" and "harassment" charges. Bush, who was drafted by the Steelers with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, would leave Pittsburgh in 2023 after the team declined his fifth-year option — ultimately forcing him to test free agency and sign with the Seahawks. His time in Seattle was short-lived, and he would soon sign with the Browns in 2024 — where he would ultimately sign a one-year extension for the 2025 season, worth $3.25 million. On top of the charges Bush faces, the former Steeler could face discipline for a potential violation of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy — but until then, we at Steelers Wire will keep you updated on the situation.

Something I think everyone knew. Particularly, after drafting two RBs and Ford taking the pay cut and guaranteed money.

Honest question... what is the significance of something like this? Is this the path individuals have to take to eventually be primary owners of a team?
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Just guessing here but I've heard that NFL owners want to be more protective about who they let buy into franchise anymore. If someone buys a very small piece and they get to know you, what you're like in meetings and how you conduct yourself in your business and life then they're much more amenable to you putting together a group for a big purchase later. I read that he has a private wine label. Don't know his aspirations. Just a guess.

Just to add to your comment, even Haslam was a minority owner of the Steelers before buying the Browns.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
