After careful analysis I have determined that there is an indirect relationship between the number of times one uses the words fascist, Nazi and Hitler and how much one knows about fascism, naziism and Hitler. I’ll use you as exhibit A.

This is 100% correct. Those who have no idea what fascism is say the word as a trigger and apply it to anything they don't like emotionally to try and validate their thoughts.

I always find it amusing how those who support the military be there use the worst of what's happening to try to depict what's actually happening. While there are hours upon hours of peaceful protests they could show you, they won't. This is limited to a very small portion of L.A. while life goes on as normal in over 90% of the city. But to here trump's home boys tell it the city is burning down.

The problem is the National Guard was not sent in to control the peaceful protest. If people would/could remain peaceful everyone even if they disagree supports their rights to peacefully protest. But lines have been crossed, and the rioters MUST be dealt with and controlled. That is what is needed in a civilized society. The National guard was sent in to deal with the rioters. It is unfortunate for those peacefully protesting that those that cannot remain peaceful has caused their stance and voice to not be heard. Anarchy cannot be allowed to continue whether you agree or disagree with original decision that is being protested to begin with.

Since it got far worse after the Guard arrived it seems as though they had a better handle on it than enraging people further. And actually I never mentioned that until the last day or so. I don't think the Guard was needed because the protests are being conducted within a small, contained area. It is not some kind of city wide riot as it is being presented. Nobody is "burning the city down" which is yet another lie trump is telling for justification. And for the most part the Guard is standing behind the police in a back role and are protecting federal buildings. It's not as if their primary job there has been engaging the protestors.

I think it's more a political stunt than anything else. And this sending in active duty Marine troops is even further evidence of it. Surely you don't think they need to send in active duty Marine troops do you?

Only the National Guard isn't dealing with those people. They are standing behind local and state law enforcement. They are not directly engaging with any of those people. They are doing nothing more than playing a support role and protecting federal buildings.

The voices of the peaceful protestors could be heard if you and your kind weren't concentrated on ignoring them and focusing on the minority of people and time that the others are committing crime and violence which is your only message of focus.

The peaceful protestors offer no threat toward the men and women in uniform. When the bad apples come out, they ruin the whole batch, and the officers cannot stop and ask questions to find who is peaceful and who is not.

And yet you still claimed the Guard was sent there to confront the protestors. That's not what's happening. Did you see the video where the officer targeted a reporter and shot her with as rubber bullet? I posted it for you. Not everyone an uniform is an outstanding and noble person. Just as with any profession, to use your own words, there are "bad apples" among them. Just as it is with the protestors. Did that cop who purposefully shot that reporter "ruin the whole batch"?

Everyone who is acting violently should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I don't really see anyon on here who isn't making that point. All the people engaging in violence or violating laws should be condemned and prosecuted. Peace on that front.

The bigger issue is the escalation of which. POTUS directly contradicted his own stance on when to send in national guardsmen, coordinating with the state and local levels. It became clear that Newsom and the mayor did not want the National Guard nor the Marines deployed. That happened, and from what I've seen, things escalated substantially.

Again, it's the desire to turn everything into a spectacle.

Gavin Newsome's state of California had over 2,200 murders in 2024 vs Alabama's over 700 murders. Using rate is just a way to divert reality.

According to you if a state with 5,197,720 people has less murders than a state of 39,529,000 people that somehow means the state with 39,529,000 has more murders because the murder rate should not be counted?

So nearly eight times as many people should have less murders or the same amount of murders as a state with one eighth the population? No wonder people like you thought the 2020 election was stolen.

Alabama has ~5m people, and CA has almost 40m. Less than a million people TOTAL live in the top 4 cities in AL, whereas just over 3.5m people live in Los Angeles alone.

This logic is the same logic used to try to convince someone that Chicago is safer than a small town. Where there are a couple domestic violence deaths a year that cause the murder rate to look high when in Chicago, there are gang wars in the streets. The murder rate is lower in Chicago because of population but the small town is much much much safer to live in. Using rate is just using statistics to skew a losing argument. Bottom line is Alamba had 700+ murders in 2024, and California had 2,200+ murders in 2024. It is much safer to walk the streets of Bama vs California.
