The only one skewing anything here is you.

If a state has ten times as many cars on the road as another state and only twice as many accidents, which state has the biggest problem with auto accidents? Let me guess. The state with tens times the amount of cars on the road with only twice as many accidents?

None of what you're saying makes any sense.

Reality. 1 State had 1,500+ murders more than another. Plain and simple. Any other way to present that figure is it distract from reality.

Alabama has ~5m people, and CA has almost 40m. Less than a million people TOTAL live in the top 4 cities in AL, whereas just over 3.5m people live in Los Angeles alone.

So you can yap "Reality" all you want, but you're comparing apples and oranges right now.

This logic is the same logic used to try to convince someone that Chicago is safer than a small town. Where there are a couple domestic violence deaths a year that cause the murder rate to look high when in Chicago, there are gang wars in the streets. The murder rate is lower in Chicago because of population but the small town is much much much safer to live in. Using rate is just using statistics to skew a losing argument. Bottom line is Alamba had 700+ murders in 2024, and California had 2,200+ murders in 2024. It is much safer to walk the streets of Bama vs California.

It's the same logic that allows you to compare a runningback that gained 200 yards on 30 carries vs a runningback that gained 100 yards on 10 carries.

Neither stat tells the whole story, but one attempts to normalize an obvious difference.

Somebody is funding the handing out of professionally printed signs.

Somebody is funding the distribution of storm trooper helmets from the back of pickup trucks.

Make no mistake, there are funded agitators in the crowd inciting riot.

Probably the same group who incited riot on Jan 6th. They don't care which side they rile up, they just seek the destruction of America.

Answer me this:

Who shows up for a peaceful protest with heavy duty firecrackers, flammable liquids, and large hammers?

Who shows up intent to throw rocks and bottles at the police?

I think you need to self-reflect on what constitutes a peaceful protest.

Make no mistake about it.....Democrat leaders WANT riots across the country, just like in 2020. They will blame them on the administration (already happening) claiming all sorts of things from authoritarianism, fAsCiSm, and whatever other descriptor one would like to use.

However, this time around, I don't think it is working. The American people have mandated the removal of illegal immigrants in this country and these riots only further the idea that the far left are lost, violent, uneducated, and wildly dangerous as far societal standards are concerned. And the democrat leaders (as a whole) refusing to denounce the violence are irresponsible.

Anarchy will not work.

If we're going to go full tinfoil hat, then it should be pointed out that Project 2025 mentions how the president would use the excuse of responding to civil unrest to mobilize the military with the ultimate goal of suppressing any and all dissent.

So if we're going to throw it out there that a political leader wants civil unrest on the scale of what we're seeing in CA, it would actually be your team.

Ding dongs that are itching for some time in jail. Calling what's going on right now 'peaceful' is stupid, but trying to characterize the people protesting ICE as violent criminals is equally dumb.

So it's trump supporters that are funding it? Because that's the people who attacked the Capital on Jan. 6th. And it was speakers that addressed the crowd before the Capital was attacked that agitated it.

Can you produce anything that shows these assertions being true?

Here is what I managed to find...............

Quote
TV cameras have captured boxes of "bionic shields" being distributed to protesters in Los Angeles on Monday.

Footage of the scene showed boxes of solid, full-face masks—almost akin to helmets—being handed out from the back of a pickup truck by two women while a masked driver waited for them to unload the goods.

The footage has sparked concerns among some that external agitators are facilitating riots by equipping crowds for potential clashes with the police or National Guard. However, others say the masks are safety gear, worn as a precaution after protesters were injured by rubber bullets that the authorities fired.

Newsweek has contacted the Los Angeles Police Department for comment via email.

https://www.newsweek.com/riot-gear-bionic-shield-mask-la-protests-riots-2083260

If that's what you call "funding" the protests whoever is behind it doesn't seem to be doing a very good job of it.

Criminals do those things. Now what you need to reflect on is what percentage of those showing up to protest are doing those things? Most of the people protesting are peaceful protestors but certainly not all of them.

You must have missed it. I already posted that anyone engaged in criminal activity should be arrested and prosecuted. And while you're reflecting remember, none of these people will get a presidential pardon.

OCD calling for violence isn't helpful. Damanshot stating American citizens killing American Citizens-- you checked out Jackass stats in US cities recently?

The issue- Democrats CAN'T/WON'T denounce illegal aliens in US-- LEGAL immigrants are now AGAINTS illegal immigrants by a majority- image that.

My knowledge might be off, but our military hasn't shot anyone since Kent State- where they were being stoned and buildings had been burnt down-- ie RIOTING.

Unless you're in LA- all you get is what the media wants to peddle- federal / military troops protecting federal buildings shouldn't be required....BUT LA cops are NOT prioritizing protecting federal buildings.

From FLORIDA, where I am- I'm not nervious about my liberty, I don't condone burning of cars, smashing on businesses, the looting of jewelry stores by Americans/ or illegal aliens. I don't think we are about to have civil war.....and the Facist state isn't about to happen.

Lastly, Trump pardoned J6 criminals- he was wrong and I detest those actions. Every law abiding American citizen should want illegals gone.

I think there should be some reasonable middle ground. There are people who entered this country illegally many years ago. Even much more severe infractions and crimes have a statute of limitations. Most felonies have a six-year statute of limitations period in Ohio. I'm not sure why that shouldn't apply to immigration. If a person entered this country many years ago, has no criminal record and is a productive taxpayer, I don't see any logical reason there shouldn't be a statute of limitations in place which would allow them to stay.

To me the problem is this all or nothing thinking that exists on both sides.

But can anyone tell me why a family that pays taxes and has been in this country for ten or twenty years should be dealt with more severely than people who have committed felonies? Why shouldn't there be a path to citizenship for families obeying our laws? I mean I get it. They entered the country illegally. But is there anywhere a line should be drawn?

Well, the fire hydrants were empty when water was needed to put out the fires ut that can't be a Democrats fault can it? Seems like that is who was in charge there!

You mean when hundreds of fires were burning at the same time they didn't have enough water to fight them all? Is that what you mean? I wonder how many cities would have a water supply to handle such an unprecedented situation? Sadly it seems you never learned how valuable context is to a conversation.

Yet I've never heard you complain about who runs states with the lowest incomes and the poorest rated education systems. Hmmmmm....

Who's in charge there?

Well said... the only potential argument I would have is Florida has its own set of issues going on, but I'm not gonna get hung up on something like that in what is an overall a good and succinct statement.

It's when we start getting into the details that the differences start to emerge... it's just frustrating that we are continually unable to find agreement despite something (like you're describing) that we should all be able to agree on. I'm not excusing myself, I can be difficult to talk to in these threads as well. It just feels like there's less and less discussion, and the majority of posts is just an infinite tennis rally where one side is just yelling 'Nazi/fascist' and the other side is mostly troll-posting and not actually responding to any rebuttal (mostly talking about Memphis here).

Looks like those peaceful protestors are having too much fun in California. They just are so mad at the President and ICE that they just have to loot stores now. Those rascals!

Yet I've never heard you complain about who runs states with the lowest incomes and the poorest rated education systems. Hmmmmm....

Who's in charge there?

Deflect and spin that is all you got!!!

Just because you refuse to address the part I put in bold doesn't mean it's deflection or spin. In fact it addresses the very issue you brought up and is totally factual. But I understand facts are not your friend. I do understand your lack of addressing it because it doesn't fit within your narrative. Math doesn't seem to be your only shortcoming. You are talking about every fire truck and even outside fire departments with their equipment all trying to extinguish fires at the same time. Then you try to ignore all of that by refusing to describe the situation and boil it all down to "They turned the water off"?

That never happened. Now your back is up against the wall for posting such nonsense and all you have in your arsenal is to try and blame me for it. That dog won't hunt. You really need to stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

Looks like those peaceful protestors are having too much fun in California. They just are so mad at the President and ICE that they just have to loot stores now. Those rascals!

Yes, a small portion of them are criminals. The vast majority of them are peaceful. But please do go on. I'm sure you are pleasing your overlords.

This. Exactly this.

Yes, every reservoir must have been drained etc... Keep deflecting and spinning that is what you are all best at. Democrats at derelicts and show their incompetence at every turn but you keep making excuses for them.

If the water supply had been "shut down" there never would have been any water in those hydrants to begin with. I'm not making any excuses. You are posting nonsense.
