I work for the DoD and I’m obviously not aware of anywhere there are people on the inside engaging in corruption like that mentioned. I am also an unlimited contracting officer. Contrary to that article, I am not well liked by contractors, but I would like to think that I am hopefully respected. Which I’m fine with.
On the flip side, the amount of corruption, fraud, waste and abuse we see with our contractors is staggering, but the level of plausible deniability and gray area and/or “technically what we’re doing isn’t against the law” is just nauseating.
I would actually relish in leading a DOGE effort. It would just look far different to what Elon did… Going after contractors who receive money from the largest purchasing agency in the world is absolutely where I would start. Transdigm being first.
I actually think it would go a long way if Trump outed them the way he outs so many, but they are campaign contributors of his.
