I have been watching the Senate off and on today as they have been voting on many. many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many amendments to the "Big, Beautiful Bill".

I could never be a Senator. This is so darn boring, that my head would explode, and I would quit on day 2.This political theater is an exercise in futility. (and I am sure that the Republicans also play similar games when out of the majority) However, the Republicans, obviously, have the votes, especially with the VP to break a tie. I am sure that there is some great political purpose here, but I have no idea what it is ..... beyond delay and grandstanding. (which IU assume also happens on both sides)

Often times these amendments are dealt with in a matter of minutes, not an hour or more. If they had the votes they would be rushing through them and hurrying to vote. They aren't. There's a reason for that. I highly doubt that in the end they won't get the votes to pass it, but don't fool yourself into thinking this has drug out this long because they already had this in the bag. I've watched enough things like this to know these amendments could and are usually dealt with much quicker when they have the vote secured.

After Musk basically bought the presidency for Trump, he should probably go back to Tesla or SpaceX or X and run his business.

Anyone with that much of a hold over a social media site should stay that hell out of politics altogether. I don't trust anything he says or does.

I tend to disagree with you. I've heard people say that exact same thing about athletes, musicians, actors and everyone with any fame. That they should just keep their mouths shut and stay in their lane. Yet we all have the right to free speech and to speak our mind. I can't stand the KKK or white supremacists. Yet at the very same time I will always support that they have the right to free speech. Free speech doesn't simply apply to the people we agree with. Infringing on free speech doesn't apply to people with our without power and wealth. It does seem strange that people with so little seem to trust those with so much as the wealth gap continues to increase. But that's a discussion for another time.

Aww, I'm just frustrated with the wealthy running this country anyway they see fit and the fit always seems to lead towards what benefits them and only them.
