Patrick Hahomes- yes, the guy who has spanked everyone. JMHO- I watched his workout on youtube......UNBELIEVEABLE, he trains HARD to dodge folks, throw the passes he throws. I've cheered for Browns for 60 plus years, I've seen not a single Browns video showing how his level of dedication- he's great due to ability AND DEDICATION- I stink at posting videos- his 10:07 workout will astound you. He's married, got kids, and scored 24 on Wonderlic-- smart and lots of want too. He's what we need 1/2 of in our Qb search......Go Browns!!

Its about culture and the willingness not to be content How many Browns QBs have came through Berea and just Mailed it in ? . Collected a check and was happy with that. Just about all 40 that came through. There is not a barometer of excellence to be found in the Browns organization. 2 playoff appearances since 1999. Inept GMs who who have no business being GMs like Sashi, Heckert And Berry . Mahomes realizes all that matters is this year . He's all about Resetting the standard that by which he is held. He is a leader He has the command of the locker room When was the last time the Browns had a QB like that ? And not a WR jumping on a cafeteria table ?

Over time, there have been several browns that work out like madmen.
Not sure if they are at his level but still pretty good.
Guys like Miles Garrett and Nick Chubb come to mind.

They are missing you over at the Bengals board.
Seriously, you post just like that clown who came on here a while ago and was discovered to be a Bengals fan. I did a little detective work. Every single one of your posts was negative.
So I narrowed the scope a little bit to confirm my suspicion.
In 2020, we lost bad to the Ravens in game 1. You posted like crazy after that.
The next week, we laid a beatdown on the Bengals on prime time, and there wasn't a post from you for the rest of the season, where we just happened to make the playoffs and beat the Steelers. Literally, your next post was in 2021.
Do you seriously not have anything better to do?

Nobody cares about this thread. Except for the Bengals fan pretending to be a Browns fan that searches for everywhere he can to troll a Browns message board.

For those who checked out the video, you can sure tell why he's great.....unbelieveble workout- while having fun. Bengals fan I'm not, i've never aspired to be a celebrated poster-- I have other things to do- smile. Bless all.

Nobody is accusing you of being a Bengals fan. Those comments are for Iluvmyxstripper.
As far as your post about Mahomes I do think he has a great work ethic. But I think there are a lot of QB's who work just as hard if not harder at their craft. While it's an admirable trait to be sure, that alone isn't what makes Mahomes, Mahomes.
I watch a series on Netflix simply called "Quarterback". In season one Mahomes was one of the QB's featured. Kirk Cousins was on season one and is the only QB to return for season two. Cousins has a great work ethic and is very serious about the position and his work outs. Watching season one would give you an even better insight to Mahomes and I think watching these QB's you would see just how hard they work and how serious they take their job.
Often times as the case may be, hard work can't conquer genetics.

I have to ask the Browns organization- how do we draft Johnny Manzeil or trade for Watson- in their backgrounds, ANY research on their character- they shouldn't have been an option-- YES, Johnny was Heisman winner, but he was known abuser-- he was ab-lib.....Watson massage parlor problem should have been known....and, I don't know for sure, but I doubt either pushed himself.....live and learn. Hope Mike Hall is getting good couseling so his problems see the light of day. Peace.

I have no idea what any of that has to do with Mahomes. The Browns didn't draft or sign any of those QB's in 2017 when Mahomes was drafted.

It applies, in my mind, to work ethic and Mahomes has it....Mitch Trubisky- drafted ahead of Patrick didn't pan out-- I'm like all Browns fans lammenting past failures at the QB position and thinking complete research on draftees should prevent some huge flops--- Miles was a clear home run that draft....go Browns!!!

Eh, I mean I get it but I don't. People use the label "Browns" to go back in time. Berry wasn't even the GM until the 2020 season. He had nothing to do with Manziel. The only QB I can place the blame on him for is watson. I get it. I really do. Looking back at all the failures and miscues at the QB position it's easy to lump it all into one by placing the name "Browns" on it. But it's been something that has happened during different front office regimes.
If anything I believe the biggest question is does Haslam have the ability to hire the right people to run a successful NFL team? For me I'm not so sure I know the answer to that one. I'll repeat this just one more time. If work ethic was the deciding factor in the success of NFL QB's, there would be three or four great QB's on every NFL roster. That's only one ingredient in a successful QB.

Sorry hitt, just re-read the posts here. I worded it badly when I posted that nobody cares about this thread.
I was actually thinking that nobody cares what a Bungle fan thinks about it. I apologize if I impugned your topic.

I'm not sure if Quarterbacks should get all the greatness that they do.
Most of the good ones have a team around them
A good O-Line, a good Running back, A good TE , A good WR..
And of course a good Defense that gets the other team off the field.
Yes, QB's make the throws, If they don't have someone who can catch them
Or some bodies who can block defenders so they can
Or maybe the NFL Refs who
Oh wait
That's another discussion

It’s not all about the quarterback but you need a good one to compete for a title. Above average, at least, in this modern age of pro football.

The quarterback is like any other position that can be hired. You interview him. If the chemistry is right and the skill set is something you can build upon, you add that person to the team.
Just like anywhere else, the person you hire only produces if: a) they enjoy working for the team; b) people on the team enjoy working with the person; c) you have the infrastructure in place to develop.
I'm not sure why people make this into a mystical thing.

Because all you have to do is look around the league to see that it's a very rare skill set that very few people possess. If it were as easy as you make it sound good QB's would be easy to find. The evidence indicates otherwise.

It's easy if you have the structures in place.
When have you seen a bad franchise, pick a quarterback that changed their team from bad to good?
There are instances, but mostly good teams pick good players. Why is that? Good teams know what they want. They know what works together. They are not making wholesale changes. It's a complete franchise working together.
Bad teams make bad decisions, make wholesale changes, create nothing cohesive, and then rinse and repeat.

Washington Redskins 2024. A team who only had one .500 season since 2017. A new owner and an entire new coaching staff drafted a great rookie QB and they went 12-5 in season one.
Keeping a HC and GM in place for years now seems to be breaking the trend you describe. But keep beating that drum.

The Browns went 4-44 in the 3 seasons before Baker. We were hopeless.
Going 7-8-1 ib Baker's rookie season wasn't earth shattering, except it was. We suddenly had a chance in almost every game.
