Start all the starters on offense for a series or two. Kev said he wants to callous the mind and bodies of the players. What a great opportunity to do so!

I beleive very few, if any, first stringers usually play Week 1 of preseason

Expected by a league source ?

Yet it says..

Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to start Friday night's game against the Panthers. Joshua Gunter, cleveland.com

I think it may be click bait

Whose saying this

Joshua Gunter

or Mary Kay ?

Feels like click bait

This seems a bit overboard.

We’re playing SS and Tyler Huntley. Pickett and Dillon have hammies and Joe doesn’t need pre-season to prepare. He’s in his 40s, he’s already quite prepared.

Much depends on who the Panthers start. Coaches don't like starters playing against players trying to make a name.

Pro's play like pro's and have a respect for other players. Young guys trying to make the team tend to play outside the box.

The coaches talk to find out who is playing and who isn't.

My feeling is the 1's will get most of their work in the controlled practice on Thursday.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

We're talking about a dude that came off the couch and led a banged up team to a playoff appearance (and yes, promptly led them out). I'd be fine if he got 10 more total reps for all of TC.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Yep - Joe doesn’t need reps and the other guys are banged up…

Both you and lamp gave a basic, common sense explanation as to why this makes perfect sense. Flacco doesn't need reps with the 1's and QB's #2 and #3 on the depth chart at the current time are banged up. Huntley hasn't even gotten into camp yet unless he arrived today so bring on QB #4 on the depth chart.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I look forward to watching him play. I feel he is the only QB on the roster that actually has a chance to be franchise QB. Not saying he will be, but he has the measurables and talent to have a chance.

SS is simply next man up. I need to see this. Not convinced yet.

Well, if he lights it up, he’ll move up. If he struggles the browns will have a body of work to point at proving he needs to work on things. He has a very vocal following that idolizes him.

I think we have all seen QB's look good against the vanilla defenses teams use in the preseason against backups. But it wouldn't be the first time fans have been deceived by that. It happens on the regular.

I hope for the best because that would be the best case scenario for the Browns. But some of us have seen this movie many times before with "insert name here" QB's. The first preseason game is virtually meaningless. I only watch it because after a long off season I'm starved for some football.

Whether he does good or bad in this game it still won't tell us anything of substance.

I hope he takes a step forward tonight. Big chance for him to make the backup argument. If he blows, we need to remember he’s a 5th round rookie in his very first live action.

Take advantage of your opportunity young man.

As a 5th rounder when you get a chance you capitalize on it.

It doesn't matter who he is playing with or against. Do what you have practiced. Call the plays with authority. Execute the play that is there.

I hope he plays well and earns more time.

I hope Shadeur does well too. It may be only preseason against Carolina but something positive out of it would be great. There are other players that we’ll be looking at too.

Carson Schwesinger is a guy I am interested in watching.

He has stood out in practice and is taking a key role in replacing JOK.

CS is one that I mentioned to someone as well as Mason Graham. There are a couple of CB’s and some of our younger OL too. Ahmani Marshal the RB also. With the Judkins situation he might be an important player to have.

I will be looking to see if Sanders can anticipate the open WR's before they are open. If he can see the field in terms of reading the D. If he isn't, that doesn't put a nail in his coffin or anything. He's young and has plenty of time to improve. But in the NFL you can't wait for a WR to be wide open before you deliver the ball. That leads to a lot of sacks that often gets blamed on the OL.

I agree. Anticipation, accuracy, and poise.
