A man named Edgar Maddison Welch, motivated by the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, arrived at the Comet Ping Pong pizzeria in Washington, D.C. with an AR-15 rifle on December 4, 2016. He fired his weapon inside the restaurant. As fate would have it that pizzeria was located in D.C. as well.
It's amazing how far down the rabbit hole some people can crawl based solely on claims and allegations before even so much as concluding an investigation.

The Justice Department’s abrupt 180 on the information they have, followed up by Trump’s “nothing to see here” followed by unusually combative tone with the media started to raise up a lot of red flags. Follow that up with actually reading through the depositions and other court documents out there, and it starts to get rather chilling. Take all that combined with the move of Maxwell out of nowhere.

'Peen, the gran jury evidence is sealed (as per the norm) and is done so for a reason. I think it should stay that way. This would set a very bad precident. However, there is much more information /evidence available not presented to the grand jury. Release this information. What do I expect to see (other than nothing because trump will never allow the release unless dramatically redacted)? The answer is: I don't know. If I did, I wouldn't need it to be released. But what I want to know is: Who, other than epstein and maxwell are implicated. Then I want to know why they haven't beed thoroughly investigated.

“When our members respond to the scene of a felony offense where there is a victim reporting that a felony occurred, inevitably there will be a lieutenant or a captain that will show up on that scene and direct those members to take a report for a lesser offense,” Fraternal Order of Police Chairman Gregg Pemberton said. “So, instead of taking a report for a shooting or a stabbing or a carjacking, they will order that officer to take a report for a theft or an injured person to the hospital or a felony assault, which is not the same type of classification.”
The police department's command staff is focusing on two categories in order to get the numbers to fall, Pemberton said: armed with a dangerous weapon and injured person to the hospital.
“When management officials are directing officers to take reports for felony assault, or if they're going back into police databases and changing offenses to felony assault, felony assault is not a category of crime that's listed on the department's daily crime stats,” Pemberton said. “It's also not something that's a requirement of the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. So, by changing criminal offenses from, for example, ADW bat or ADW gun to felony assault, that would avoid both the MPD and the FBI from reporting that as a part one or a felony offense.”
The union has been gathering evidence for some time now by looking at reports and talking with officers all over the city, Pemberton said.
“What we've heard through our members and through members of management that were willing to talk with the union is that this is a directive from the command staff, is that they wanna make sure that these classifications of these reports are adjusted over time to make sure that the overall crime stats stay down,” Pemberton said. “And this is deliberately done.”

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
1. POTUS has mentioned using troops in America's largest cities. One conservative ideal I stand by is a "weak" central government. Let the states and localities govern themselves for the most part. Strong Tenth Amendment proponent. This is the opposite. One other bullet point in the case that Republicans are not in fact "conservative."
2. The whole time this has gone on, when I see people, Republican or Democrat, in favor of this deployment, I often think of Benjamin Franklin's quote: "Those who would give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty, nor safety." I may have botched it, but that was my recollection.

More than 1,450 law enforcement personnel were on patrol in Washington on Tuesday night, a White House official said, including 30 National Guard troops and 750 city police officers. The official said the White House expects a "significantly higher" Guard presence on Wednesday night.
The effort has resulted in 103 arrests since Aug. 7, including 43 on Tuesday, the official said. The charges include one homicide charge, 33 firearms charges and 23 immigration charges, the official said, and have led to 24 seized firearms.
During the same period in 2024, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 364 people in total, police data shows, including traffic and liquor law violations as well as murder, prostitution, carjacking, assault, theft, burglary and robbery.
The MPD made 20,386 adult arrests in 2024, an average of 56 arrests a day, or nearly three times the rate cited by the White House.
The Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI on Wednesday both referred questions seeking more details on the arrests to the White House, a highly unusual deflection that signaled the White House's outsized role in overseeing the law enforcement crackdown.
