I am asking for prayers for my brother. He is about 2 years from his Parkinson's diagnosis, and he was just diagnosed with a cancerour tumor on his kidney. (and he will be having his kidney removed)

I have been through a lot with terrible pain ...... but man, I sometimes feel like I shouldn't complain at all when I look at what has happened to some of my family and friends.

You have been through a lot. None of this takes away from that.
That being said, it always feels like someone is going through worse. I shared a personal story recently in the PP forum. I realize there is always someone going through something worse than what I am going through, but it doesn’t invalidate what we all are going through.
That also being said, the one thing I have learned from all my triumphs and tragedies over decades is that there is always a hidden community of people who I never thought cared, that actually do. I used to live my life thinking it was in such isolation, but it wasn’t.
What is happening both with you and your brother, especially, is rough. Very rough. If there is one hint of a consolation I may offer at any time, whether it is for the litany of struggles you have been through, or whether it is for the unfathomable struggles your brother is going through, just know that there is an entire community of people who are there with you, providing prayers, support, well-wishes or anything else we can.
At the end of the day, one thing I have learned is that despite all the vile politics, sports rivalry divisions, personal divisions, etc that we all seem to make a part of our everyday lives and conversations, those real ones among us pray for, or hope for, the absolute best among those we consider our brethren.
May the best of God’s gifts and/or fortune bless you and your family. We are all here for you and for him. Bank on that.
