Outstanding defensive performance. Patrcia had them ready to play.
They didn't put too much on Sayin's plate.
Great win!

First time watching Manning.
Surprised.
He did not look good. Missed easy throws. His feet and body are not in sync when throwing causing inaccuracy.
I am not going to trash the guy after one game but he did not play well.

Meanwhile Drew Allar looks damn good.
Big arm with great mechanics. Throws with touch and accuracy.

I am not going to trash the guy after one game but he did not play well. I agree, he didn't look good at all. I watched because I thought he might be the next Browns QB... One game, so no shame, but damn, what a let down.

I - O! Outstanding win! Fox loves Horns and Manning today. Sickening drivel. Horns down. Not pretty, but still pretty important. Patricia dialed up a gem and carried the other side of the ball.
I will say it out loud here. I understand the desire for AM, but looked overrated today. I will give the Bucks props, but I want to see better from him. Hope we are number one. The D was amazing.

I-O! Manning looked very pedestrian today at best. But the Texas D looked solid. It didn't help OSU's QB that there were three early, clear drops. But he didn't let it get him down and he just kept doing what was asked of him. I think Ryan Day was smart not asking him to do too much too soon in the first game of the season. But the kid looked good with his passes. Accurate and calm. the stage didn't look too big for him. Just Sayin'. It came down to a battle of wills between the D's and OSU won that battle in determining the outcome of this game. They played bend but don't break D later in the second half. But when it mattered most they didn't break. I'm not banking on OSU being ranked #1 going into next week. Penn State is ranked #2 and they trounced Nevada by 35 points. I know Nevada wasn't ranked but a 35 point win may just be enough to keep them at the #1 spot. I would think OSU beating the #1 ranked team would place them at #1 but stranger things have happened.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

1st game, so I'm not going to make sweeping conclusions. I did chuckle at this, though.

Penn St. didn't even cover the spread which was -43.5. Ohio State held the #1 team in the country to just 7 points. Ohio State will be ranked #1. On a side note, nice seeing Lee Corso have his very first and very last mascot headgear picks for the game be Brutus.

Neither of the QBs in LSU vs Clemson are looking great so far.

I thought there was going to be 5 or 6 HOF quality QBs in the 2026 draft.

Nice win by the Bucks .. Very vanilla O by Day as would be expected with the New kid on the block at QB... Hats off to the D with one exception .. I would be looking at the lack of pass rush or real pressure on their OB if I was Patrcia .

Mainly quick, easy, predetermined throws from what I saw. They look good on the stat sheet, but I'm not sure how much they really tell you about how a guy will translate to the next level. Placement on the completions still didn't look that great to me. He put it on the big TEs back hip on an out route to his right, and even the TD I'm not sure that's really where he wanted to put it. If the CB had kept raking down instead of transitioning to throwing down Green (?) he might have been able to get it out. Didn't really use the height advantage and, if I'm remembering correctly the morning after, was at the somewhat awkward height where the guy catching it has to debate whether or not to flip his hands and he loses some of the extension/separation on the box out. Maybe he's coached to throw it at his belly, but I'd be putting it (more likely trying to put it) a bit higher when my receiver has a 6+ inch height advantage. But, it's week 1, and both D's looked pretty good. The pass catchers didn't look particularly helpful. We'll see how the season goes.

I wasn't really serious, but I would suggest it is more of a jump to claim a player will be the first pick of the draft before he plays 3 full games.

I wasn't really serious, but I would suggest it is more of a jump to claim a player will be the first pick of the draft before he plays 3 full games. Who did that? The reviews suggest this will be a strong NFL draft class at the QB position. Several names have been mentioned as "potential" first picks in next years draft. I certainly haven't seen anyone on here predict who among those QB's it might be. Did you see people claiming a certain QB would go #1 in next years draft? I haven't. What I have seen is people name a group of QB's who might be at the top of the draft and say that in our position it makes it more interesting to watch college football this year to see how they progress as the season goes on. Did you see something on the board I missed?

If this Miami/ND game keeps going as is (crazy catch!), it might be safe to say the top 10 rankings were juuuuuust a bit off the mark…

I have always liked Carson Beck as a QB. Thought Georgia had a lack of talent at WR last season that really hurt him as a prospect. I could see him rise up the board if he returns to 2023 form in Miami.

I’ve been very impressed with his ability to read coverage and keep his eyes downfield in the face of pressure.

They have the nations top running back Jeramiah Love and to this point he only has 4 carries. That is part of the problem. Should have established him and then try to get Carr comfortable and his confidence going.

IMO Nussmeier looked damn good.
He sees it and gets the ball out. I like the way he throws the ball.
Drew Allar looked really good. I know the competition was suspect but still. He looks the part.
I saw the end of S. Carolina so I need to watch Sellers. Boy he is a big strong guy.
Long way to go so we shall see.
The more I study Gabriel I understand the Browns selecting him.

I will change my time multiple times this year watching these QB's play but after week 1 I like Garrett Nussmeier, Drew Allar, and Carson Beck as the best prospects for the Browns in next years draft. I think it is a no brainer that Manning will be a 2027 draft pick. He has talent but needs time to develop. That 2027 class will be really good with Manning, Sayin, and Riola from Nebraska.
Nussmeier has NFL arm talent and can thru accurately passes from different arm angles. He is smaller 6'2 and only 200 lbs.
Allar has NFL arm talent and tremendous size. He can be a Josh Allen type QB he just needs to show ability to perform well in big games.
Beck had a rough 2024 after expectations were he would be top QB in 2025 draft. He looked good yesterday and if he returns to 2023 form he has very good arm talent and big game experience.

No idea why they didn’t run more early on… have two of the best RBs in the nation and a new QB… I understand going away from them later but thought they’d run them more Great game… ND coming back was a surprise to me but wasn’t shocked that Beck got Miami in a position to win it with the FG

If the Browns would think of drafting Aller, I want to his him play well against a real good team. I only saw him against the Bucks, and in the playoffs last year and he was average. The majority of his quality stats came against the weaker competition he played.
One year can make a big difference so hopefully he improves a lot.

It is a team game.
When I watch quarterbacks in college they all play against different strength defenses and teams overall.
I am looking at how they play games. Their mechanics. Accuracy, ball placement, and how they see the field and throw with anticipation.
Evaluation of college is difficult because mostly they will not see anything like they will in the NFL.
Allar played well yesterday. I really liked some of his throws.

Right now there is the possibility of 6-7 QB's being drafted in the 1st round next year. That could change in the next 4 1/2 months depending on their play but if they all play well that's a lot of evaluation to do. I personally think we will draft one as I don't believe at this point, we have our long-term answer on our roster. There's too much talent in next year's draft to pass over a QB. I hope we choose the right one. JMO

It will be fun watching the college QB prospects.
Somethings about Dillon Gabriel are beginning to grab at me.
Dillon Gabriel holds the NCAA FBS record for the most career starts by a quarterback with 63 starts, which he set in the 2025 Rose Bowl game. He played for three different teams during his six-year college career: the UCF Knights, Oklahoma Sooners, and the Oregon Ducks. Dillon Gabriel holds the NCAA FBS record for the most career starts by a quarterback with 63 starts. He played for three different teams during his six-year college career: the UCF Knights, Oklahoma Sooners, and the Oregon Ducks.
He mastered three systems. He clocked a throw at the Senior Bowl at 74.9 mph. Josh Allen was 62. He outplayed Sheduer who was considered by all to be a higher draft selection. He amassed 18,722yds. throughout his college career, the second most in Division I football history, behind only Case Keenum's 19,217.
I liked how he played in the pre-season.
I want to see him get his shot if Joe falters or gets injured.
