I am reading a book titled "Eliot Ness and the Mad Butcher."
It is a true story and it takes place in Cleveland back in the 30's.
It so happens that Cleveland in the 20's was noted as a Dark city. Run by racketeers, mobsters, a corrupt police force, and bought politicians.
A tailor shop was owned by Mitchell Siegel. The shop was robbed and Mr. Siegel died of a heart attack while trying to stop the robbery.
His young son Jerry Siegel was devastated. He dreamt of a hero who would be invulnerable to bullets and would fight crime.
He met an artist named Joe Shuster and they created Superman.
The book is really interesting the Mad Butcher was one of the first recognized "serial killers."

It sounds like a possible influence for sure but the writer has said it was based on a Jewish lore of a golem Rabbi Judah Loew of Prague. It's Jewish lore, not canon.
That being said, Superman sure has evolved to the point he is more like the God Apollo or maybe Ra. The funny thing is that the House of El and being superhuman was obviously stolen from the Sumerian lore that is also tied to the Old Testament El Shaddai, one of the names/titles of God. Thus Superman is the Son of God in a way. He would be more like the Messiah Jews back then expected and wanted.
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.
