lets see how the NFL handles it now

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Here comes the detailed NFL investigation. The sad thing is, no matter what they find, I have a feeling they will determine a suspension will be necessary.

Since in this case there is conclusive video evidence contradicting the allegations I don't think so. Otherwise I would agree. I just think the NFL feels they need to take time to release their finding so it doesn't give the appearance and perception they take such things lightly and thoroughly followed through with due diligence. I think we'll find out sooner rather than later.

I hope so. One would think that exculpatory evidence would eliminate a suspension. I hear there is some but haven't seen it with verified timelines but assume it exists. Note..I don't doubt you so there is no need to post any at this point.

As for the signing deal, I don't think it was over the amount or guarantees. It was probably more over how bonuses would be paid.

We get a 2 week roster exemption. I am not sure how that is calculated but if we can keep him in that position, I wouldn't add him to the roster until the 3rd game week.

At this point I wouldn't want to rush things and see the guy get hurt because he wasn't ready.

I don't think they will play him if he isn't ready. I think he'll be ready. He's smart enough to have stayed as game ready as he possibly can.

Browns sign RB Quinshon Judkins to 4-year, fully guaranteed deal worth $11.4 million; he’ll meet with the NFL this week

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns running back Quinshon Judkins is back in the fold and ready to get back down to the enormous task of trying to fill Nick Chubb’s shoes.

The Browns’ No. 36 pick in the second round out of Ohio State, Judkins signed his fully guaranteed four-year rookie contract — worth about $11.389 million, including a signing bonus worth close to $5 million — on Saturday. He’s the eighth player of 32 second-round picks to sign a fully guaranteed deal.

he can't be worse than Ford

The as he can part is what worried me.

In the end, if he can play he will know the plays ....at least I assume. I am sure the coach will limit his action to allow him to be in game shape. There is a difference between being in shape and game shape.

I hope he can play and studs out, but he probably won't in game one. My expectation is it will be a gradual build up to 20 carries a game by week 4-5. I do expect him to be a stud back by week 8 and beyond.

He does have the tools and pedigree....heck yeah. Now, any suspension might bodger that up but I wouldn't expect it to be a long suspension, if any. Maybe 2 games tops. Any longer means we are still getting corkscrewed by the NFL over Watson.

Other owners opinions matter to the league since the owners hire the commissioner. And face it, if you can hire, you can also terminate with few exceptions.

Ford is just bad period.

He has no burst. He cannot beat a one on one tackle. He has no shake.

If there is a straight line with a car width opening. He can run straight.

Anyone is better than he is.

I hope Judkins can play Sunday.

Ford looks even worse than he did last year. He falls down when he hits anything

I share your opinion that he won't be "a full go" from day one when he starts playing. But I'm willing to wager there will be no suspension.

They are going to meet with him bravo.

It has only been months.

There is no meat on the bones of his "case."

I see no reason for a suspension.

Agreed. My concern now is I hope he's not rushed back and gets hurt. We need him badly and I think he and Sampson can be a very good duo for us.

The two of them in our backfield together could be a potential second coming of the Mack - Byner success that I loved. If Ski wants to be this conservative, then he needs a better conservative.

100. He's received a very concise set of instructions -- keep your nose clean and stay uber-ready.

BTW, I think this is going to be a formidable one-two punch if these guys stay healthy. Sampson is going to be hell-on-wheels as a pass-catching RB.

how is Judkins as a receiving back? just thinking of having both of them on the field at once

Solid. Career over three years is 59/442/7.5/5 and that is basically consistent when split over the three years. It would be nitpicking to say he has anything less than "good" hands when speaking of check-downs and screens.

I was thinking that while watching the Bengals game. I thought “Man, I’d love to see what Sampson would look like with Judkins as the bell cow.”

Could have made the difference between the W and the L. Hell, I think it would have.

I particularly liked him catching screens. He is very good in space and hits his second gear very quickly when he decides where he’s going to run.

I think he can be really good. But he did put himself in this situation and then choose to sit out. Hard to feel sorry for him. Also, if the Browns wanted to break him in slowly they would have kept Chubb. Now they lost the first game of the season, a game they should have won and probably would have won if they could have ran the ball better. If he is healthy and can run the ball he needs to play.

So being accused of something you didn't do is "putting yourself in this situation"? Do you have some inside source that told you why the contract wasn't agreed on until now?

You like facts so much. He was the last draft pick signed. Speaks volumes doesn't it. He is no Nick Chubb.

Seriously? He may not be Nick Chubb, and is likely not Chubb off the field, but how can you say that for sure without having seen the guy?

Chubb was a team first player. He would have never been the last drafted player signed and missing a game unsigned.

Judkins is not a soon to be 30 year old running back who has had to have his knee completely reconstructed twice? Then had a broken foot after that? Tell me more.

Noone else is Nick Chubb. Doesn't mean other players won't end up working out for the team.

He can work out, I think he is talented, but he has shown he is a me first player and not a team first player with his actions. If that were not the case, then answer me this where was he on Sunday?

I am sure if he can play this week he will get some snaps. It's not all that hard for a back to pick up the stock plays pretty quickly.

As for any suspension, we are talking about the NFL, so who knows?

He wasn't under contract and had never been. He was supposed to put the team first when he was not actually getting paid by the team? Did you agree to take your job for the company's benefit or yours? If a woman had made a false claim against you, would you agree to work for less because of it?

It's not just a sport. It's a business and his livelihood which he'll soon be literally damaging his health for.

Really??? How well do you know him? and if he is why is he different than most other NFL players. It's a job to them. It's how they feed their families, feed there kids, help out their parents.

No kidding. He's a 21yo kid who's hired an agent manage his business affairs and decide what's in his best interest.

People like Nick Chubb absolutely do spoil us fans. Same with Joe Thomas as we found out since his departure.

That being true, though, doesn’t bolster your point about Judkins.
