and to beat a top 3 team in the NFL in doing so

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

That is the way we normally lose games.

Sure feels good to be on the other end for once.

The NFL is hard. Winning any game is hard. Coaches and players face heavy pressure.

This win gives them a breath of clean air and needed relief.

Happy for the players and coaches.

The last time we lost to the Browns was 2005 nearly 20 years ago to the date. Browns beat GB 26-24 in Lambeau.

A full range of emotion at that game. Everybody was pretty somber for most of the game.

Then, BOOM!

Indeed, we needed that. I needed that. It's going to be a happy drive back to Tennessee in the morning.

We still need to move on from Joe in time, but this was sweet.

I guess we aren't still looking to get a new kicker.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

We finally got some breaks. The Delpit INT that eventually tied the game, the blocked field goal, and Andre Szymt with a day of redemption.

Our plodding offence needs a spark, maybe the win will help with that. Our ST and defence, and a little bit of Judkins, won that game for us.

Our D front abused the Packers.

QJ’s 38-yard run that led to a field goal was Chubb-esque. He’s looking really good so far, Graham was a beast, Myles was his usual self.

Great win, gonna be a nice Monday at work.

I think we need more Sampson on offense. We need something with a little burst

No, because our starting tackles lasted one series.....Joe is just a target, he's seen everything, but damn, let Gabriel try something different....scoring ZERO points during 90 percent of game does not win ANY games normally. Defense and Special Teams get an A, but the Offense gets a D at best.....GO Browns!!!!

our rookies have certainly played well through 3 games. That's an encouraging sign

He does. He’s obviously smart and he’s got a D coordinator who’ll make him even better.

I am over Ski's offense and nothing I am seeing recommends more of his same. I want to see Sampson and QJ in the backfield like Byner and Mack and Csonka and Kiick. Start fiddling with that and it can be exciting. Maybe life without all tight ends. The philosophy driving this O is underachieving almost all game long. Back to the same sideline ego issue. We won on flukes today in spite of our offense. We will need better. Major applause for our defense and ST today.

One of our big issues is that the OL is not doing a good job at run blocking. Sampson can’t yet be trusted to block a guy coming right up the middle, he had a big whiff today and not for the first time.

But we aren’t threatening a defence with our passing game, that’s the biggest issue.

The Browns forced only 20 turnovers in the 2024 season. They forced zero special teams turnovers.

In the 1st 2 games this season, they forced zero turnovers.

Todau they forced 1 on defense and 1 on the kick block. They will have to do this with consistency if they want to win games this season.

I just saw on cbssports.com that the last time the browns came back from a double digit deficit in the final 4 minutes of a game was 2002

We have to be honest. It is almost funny. I know Browns fans.

Everybody was ready to write. "Fire them all we suck."

"Just watch he is going to miss the extra point."

"Perfect we tie the score and now we lose." "What? we blocked the kick? "Really?"

"Ok 55 yards no way: we are going to overtime."

Holy **** we actually won."

"We had them right where we wanted them."

"Hell we should be 2-1."

I know how you all were thinking.

Ok what just happened?

Joe and the offense were so bad it was hard to watch.

The defense was so good the disparity between defense and offense was sickening.

Along comes Quinshon Judkins and he puts on Nick's Batman cape and saves the day.

Our kicker found his mojo. And now we have new life.

We actually play complimentary football. Defense feeds offense. Special Teams makes some big plays.

The locker room was so cool. Genuine true happiness and honest relief.

We have lots to work on with the offense. But I will be damned. We have a defense to be really proud of.

Monday is a lot brighter no matter the weather.

And the Guardians are playing for life beyond the regular season.

Good Vibrations.

Bring in Jordon Davis as our Red Zone Heavy Back! HE CAN RUMBLE!
Yips appear to be out of the way.
Flacco looks tired, unsure and needs WAY more reps w/ Judkins, he CAN catch. Flacco missed at least 3 mid/deep opportunities.
Judkins looked GREAT all things considered, including a O Line that sucks at sustaining holes. Rushing numbers after two games are about even w/ Chubb.

A great end to an otherwise fairly grim game. Fun watching the D - but Flacco is a shell of himself. I'd commented before that he looks ancient when the play breaksdown and he has to run ... I think he just looks old. Period. On the one hand, not turning the ball over when the D is this good is important. On the other hand - limiting what the O can do so drastically really is an extra obstacle and gift to the opposing D. Virtually everything is 12 yards and under and as someone said - the receivers are crossing or with their backs to the end zone ... makes it so much easier on the secondary. . . . SO . . . Question: if Gabriel isn't ready now, which he probably isn't, do we think he's really going to be 'ready' in 5 weeks time? As it happened we won the game yesterday but I was ready to see Gabriel at the end of the 3rdQ or start of the 4th Q. I don't actually think Joe did anything Gabriel can't - if anything the open WR that Joe missed on the left sideline (I think in the 4thQ) was reminiscent of the TD throw Gabriel made...

Judkins was good. Needs to be more patient but he made yards where Ford and Sampson were getting stuffed before. Maybe only 2 yards - but it makes a difference. It looks early on like a good selection ... although, after the humble but brilliant Chubb, Judkins emotional reactions might take a little while to get used to. I loved the wham on the whammer (Parsons) ... that was nice.

Maybe we got the rub of the green on a couple of penalties - but we're due. In my opinion Bush forced a fumble and recovered it. The most compelling view of that seemed to be shown AFTER the refs made the call.

Surely it can't be lost on Browns fans that yet again - we're competitive wholly because of the Defense and a part of the team that KS has absolutely nothing to do with. Again as someone said, if we can only win when the D is heroic and holds a team to 10 points - we are in trouble.

With the game tied - I actually felt like Szmyt was going to make it. Just seemed like karma and he'd been making them from 61 yards.. If that had been to tie the game, I wouldn't have felt the same.

Bone - yes, we coulda/shoulda be 2-1 ... but that wouldn't change how good this team is and it wouldn't paper over our offensive fragility. The commentators nailed it when they talked about how this grind it out offense has absolutely zero room for errors and tun overs. Unless we can theaten to take the top off the D once or twice without it being a gift for their secondary, it's going to be tough.

Our offense needs an awful lot to become competent IMO. Our drives almost have to be perfect to even garner a FG

We were lucky to win that game yesterday. The Packers made mistakes and we took advantage. That's fine with me because we lost many games just like that and the other team gladly took it. Yesterday was our turn!

My only significant post game thought is if you have a great defense, they’ll keep you in games far longer than you probably have a right to and sometimes that means sneaking away with a W. If we could get the O worked out to at least average, this defense alone would make us a playoff contender.

The Cincy loss hurts even more now IMO. We kinda stole one back, but we missed that opportunity in the first game badly

Oh and another thought… this O is tailor made for Gabriel’s skill set. I think he’s going to thrive when we finally trot him out there, which I suspect will be right after the 6 game buzz saw we fed Flacco to. It’s a pretty sound strategy IMO. If we come away 2-4 then a spark enters on O for the next 11 games, our fortunes could change quickly. I personally think Gabriel’s processing speed and play break down skills are the tipping point for this O. I know most people don’t share my optimism.

We have to acknowledge this defense.

We faced three really good offenses and beat the tar out of them.

Another thing Berry has been dragged through the mud and there are reasons. However, you have say this rookie class has been exceptional.

Graham, Judkins, Schwesinger, Fannin, Sampson, Gabriel, and (Sanders even though he has not played).

Rare air to have a rookie class be this good.

Joe and the offense has to improve. However, it is clear that Joe is not a solution of any kind.

This game is way too fast for where he is now.

It has gotten to the point where Gabriel probably gives us the best chance to win.

I looked for a post you made about the game but couldn't find it. You predicted exactly what the Browns needed to do in order to win and you nailed it. Just wanted to give you the kudos you deserved for that one.

The starting LT is far below average as well. Between the OL, the QB and subpar WR room you get a terrible offense.

We desperately need 2 new OTs (basically a whole new OL honestly) next year

Indeed. Pocic might cut it. Dewand might cut it as a RT but man he seems to get hurt a lot - is that bad luck or just who he is?

It's not even that. A 10-point deficit with this offense feels like a 3-score difference.
