Jeremy Fowler
@JFowlerESPN
Trade: The Browns are trading for Texans tackle Cam Robinson for a swap of late-round picks in 2027, per sources.

Not sure this does anything. But our OT position is THAT bad

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Really don't know much about him other than he was drafted in 2017 and has a total of 102 NFL starts.

There's a little more information about him at the link.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I hope we're not done. Cam Robinson is not an answer, he's more of what we've already got. Luckily we didn't give up much for him but we need more. Another tackle pretty please...

It's just hard sledding for OLmen ... nearly every team is so thin there

This is pretty disappointing, but you're right. There are no magic fixes right now.

Is it possible to trade to lower the bar? Lucas stunk. But this may be worse. Only us: a new Tackle Controversy.

I wonder about platooning OLinmen. One of the biggest issues at the position is fatigue. The fat guys tire out. So maybe we can't find even a marginal started, maybe you just swap guys in and out every other series? Maybe that's a terrible idea, I don't know. But we're going nowhere as long our OL is what it is, regardless of QB. You can have a Ferrari and a world class driver but if you have a couple flat tires, it just doesn't matter.

Confusion rising here! So for whom are we tanking now? QB? Tackle? Blockbuster roster overhaul? I think we need a hard look at Ski and the FO. We are blinded by the Dome. Any decent or at least better tackles in Canadia? Need some WR's. To change the roster, we will need to change the draft priorities. Tossing around many positions. So step up. What order? Which round? I am draft challenged, so I say QB, tackles, receivers. Not sure FA gives us much overhaul. Going forward. . . .

That draft should have included offensive linemen. That was the weak point of the off season.

Well, next draft better include at least 3 OL, a QB and a WR in the top 4 rounds. And we gotta hit on them

So is he going to play LT then? Or do they put him at RT and Conklin at LT when he comes back?

Then which of the guys that we drafted would you give up? There are only 2 OTs that were drafted in the first three rounds of this past draft that PFF has graded higher than what our current starters are graded at, and that is RT Membou that the Jets picked at #7 and Simmons that KC took at #32. We just had to many holes to fill and went with proven guys as backups, Lucas was an occasional starter and a very good backup for Washington for many years but for some reason he is struggling here.

Let's just see how it goes. I don't pay much attention to pressure percentage. Percentages can be very misleading. Who did he play against? How many total pass plays? Just a few added or fewer pressures can skew a percentage by what looks like a large margin.

As several have said, pickings for OT's are pretty slim, especially when talking about trading a 6th round pick. If a player is better than that he is at minimum locked in as a #1 back-up who the other team isn't going to trade, or at least without adding a steep premium.

I don't know.

What I think I know is that Conklin is never coming back. At least in any reliable way. I don't like to say it but everybody is different and age at different rates. Jack seems to be stuck in breakdown mode as far as being a reliable NFL player.

I will be thrilled if I am wrong.

Robinson will most likely play LT, almost all of his playing time has been at LT other than a few snaps at OG.

What about the tackle NE took right before we took Graham? Will Campbell.

According to PFF he's doing a decent job, he has a 63.8 grade overall. I didn't include him originally because we made the trade and he was already gone when we picked.

I was being more curious than argumentative. I know Graham is doing well but nobody will convince me we'd have passed on Campbell if he were there.

I don’t have any inside info but I’m assuming that our FO thought that we would be Ok with Jones and Conklin. As someone stated we had too many holes to fill.

I can see that as a possibility but everyone from the top down said the rookies need to play in order to evaluate them before the season ever started. So while the play of Flacco may have changed the timetable by which that happens I still think that was the plan all along. At this point and possibly even earlier I think Flacco is seen to serve as a very experienced hand to guide and mentor the rookies.
