Wow. Maybe the coolest guy in the band.

RIP, Ace.

I was never a KISS fan to any degree but understand the importance he and the band had on pop culture.

RIP Ace.

My sentiments exactly.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

RIP Ace. Great talent

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I'm a little bit younger than you and Pit and when KISS got huge in the late 70s, I was at that age they drew me in, thought they were kinda cool. I was 10 or 11, what did I know? lol
I outgrew them for the most part and their gimmicks are goofy, but I can still listen to some of their songs, even now. I still have the Destroyer album somewhere in a box.

RIP Ace.

Kiss was never the best, and never the worst. I can listen to one of their songs and not immediately want to change the channel.

They were one of the very best at promotion, for certain.

I was 20 in 1978. My girlfriend gave me the KISS Double Live album for Christmas. Obviously she didn't know me that well. I immediately managed to trade if for a Jackson Brown Running On Empty album.

I think the thing for me is I was always in bands and wrote some music. I was in the choir and the ensemble group in school. Played trumpet in the school band for a while. The three chords and screaming and three chord gimmick bands just never impressed me. I understood why some people loved it. I understand it can be catchy and some of their lyrics have a good hook. I understood that if you can get rich playing it, why not? But bands such as AC/DC and KISS were never of my liking.

Yeah at that age, given your background, I understand your POV.

Seriously though, Detroit Rock City or Shout it Out Loud doesn’t do it for ya, old man? wink

And btw, AC/DC is a band I can no longer tolerate for more than five minutes. If that.
